If it was just that it would be fine, but the public nominee and the continuing big coins and allowing people to buy power it’s just too much

This is reminding me of Power Trip with all the unnecessary twists that affect noms/evictions.
They're trash for having a whole CBB with back to basics then reverting back to their messy ways for the civilian version. They really don't care about civilian BB.

So Emma was trying to explain the Gamechanger for this week on BBBOTS.
is the following correct ?
housemates nominate and 5 housemates will be up
the public nomination makes the total 6
then the housemate with the most Big Coins has the option to save one of the 6 nominees
I mean, to me it sounds like they've actually thought out a coherent and consistent weekly format for the first time in many a series... sure, it's not quite the back to basics we were promised, but I'd absolutely take this over them introducing some new, different desperate twist each week

There’s nothing messy about it? It’s the most consistent format C5 have ever had!
Housemates nominate on Sunday, the 2 or more housemates with the most votes face eviction, along with the viewers nominee.
Then the nominees, plus the richest housemate play the game changer on Tuesday, and the richest housemate decides which other housemates play to complete the 6.
Results on Wednesday’s show, eviction on Friday

So true - the production team are clueless. If Lewis G makes it to the end how boring - he is one dimensional, he has no layers - just wish they wouldnt meddle with it.

tbf this has clearly been planned for a while (given all the talk of it being a game, and those teasers of the public having more of a say), and normal noms are still continuing
I like it! The only issues I have are A) it should have started this week, B) can they just give us the full US format instead and C) the viewer's nom is GREAT given it's VTS, but WHAT is the point since that person will NEVER, ever be evicted with VTE?
Vicky.
21-09-2018, 11:55 PM
I will see how it works out before I judge.
Honestly, as long as its consistent, I am fine with the format changing somewhat. I just don't like when they appear to decide how noms and such will work based on who is up, with it varying from everyone with 1 up...everyone with 2 up...2+ with most up and 3+ with most up. With random 'twists' on top of this.

No.
Housemates will nominate as normal with the same format as seen in the last celeb series.
The nominated housemates and whoever is the richest will then face the task. The task will always be undertaken by 6 housemates so the richest will choose however many additional housemates are needed to take it up to 6.
Vicky.

There's nothing consistent about something they've not done before.
What I meant is that as long as its the same weekly. Rather than chopping and changing based on who the producers fancy being up..thought that was pretty obvious but clearly not.
I mean presumably they’ve still got to fit shopping tasks AND tasks for housemates to earn money in as well so I guess we’re in for a busy few weeks

Given that's how they've clearly planned for it to work, a part of me is hoping the housemates ruin the plan and their nominations cause at least six people to be nominated.

No one said ‘normal’ nominations... I guess that’s just what you wanted to hear... They said the rules surrounding nominations would be clear... So far I don’t see how this twist isn’t a clear nominations rule...

several occasions in the run-up to Celebrity Big Brother 22, various news reports and Big Brother alumni hinted at the series going back to its roots, with less producer manipulation and a focus on the show as a social experiment.[5]
The shows' producers also met with several fansites to discuss the direction of the show, with it being heavily reported that the show will bring back weekly shopping tasks and a consistent nominations format.
Loving the weekly shopping tasks and consistent nomination format. Very back to roots

Yes they did. Specifically diary room nominations and the two or more housemates with the most nominations would face eviction.

From BBSPY:
There should finally be solid nominations criteria
After years of twist after twist after twist, will this finally be the series that the nominations process gets a much-needed simplification? We’re not entirely sure. Paul and Tamsin did say they prefer normal nominations, as they give you insight in to housemates that face-to-face nominations do not, but they did not give any assurances that there will be less twists this year – especially for the Celebrity version, noting that it’s harder when there’s two evictions per week.
However, there is another nominations bugbear they do intend on sorting. For years we’ve never quite known Channel 5’s formula for deciding who faces eviction; usually it’s any housemate that receives two or more nominations, but that isn’t always the case. This time, Paul says we’ll know the criteria right from the beginning.

People will moan whatever. See they want normal nominations/a consistent format for nominations, but it this results in the wrong people being up...then they wants twists to ensure that the people that they want to be up are up. Basically. Producers can't win really.

It's like VTS/VTE, they only want it when one results in their fave being evicted, then when the opposite evicts a good housemate too they never learn.

on the app it said the 2 hm's with the most votes will be saved .... thats different, no?
edit: haha ... they have changed the text of it since i voted ... what you say is true
Although them changing it is annoying, it's a twist they're carrying on for the whole series so i don't mind as much, and at least she's telling us before the vote's taken place - i wouldn't put it past them to change it once they've seen who's at risk in the vote in previous seasons
kingston
29-09-2018, 06:16 AM
I really don’t see why changing things up is such a bad thing... They’ve let us know ahead of The the vote what was happening and as production copped a lot of **** for head to head evictions in CBB22 it’s no wonder they’re giving us more nominees... This is really no different than when C4 would throw in a random vote to save...

Sve and replace started in bb11..
At first I thought they might be doing two public nominees because next week would be a double eviction but apparently not which just makes it a bit unnecessary.
BBDodge
29-09-2018, 08:17 AM
They made a mistake. The public only put 1 housemate up and the task winner saved that housemate rendering the whole process redundant.
Now the public put 2 up and at least 1 of them will stay up.
Which doesn't mean that the public will vote them out in a Vote To Evict.
user104658
29-09-2018, 08:46 AM
They do not like or want head to head evictions. I don't think they thought this last one through at all as it inevitably generated a head to head... IMO it worked fairly well because "Lewis Vs Lewis" was kind of iconic, but for the most part, they want at least three up, so if they're going to continue doing "gamechanger" where one person is saved, they have to make it so that at least four are vulnerable.
user104658
29-09-2018, 08:50 AM
Which doesn't mean that the public will vote them out in a Vote To Evict.
Interestingly I actually think that - other than maybe Isaac - it's UNlikely that the housemates who are bottom of the "vote to save" poll will end up going out in a "vote to evict" eviction. It'll be the less visible ones who go up as no one has bothered to vote for them, but no one will bother to vote to evict them either.
In the meantime, the housemates end up confused because "harmless" housemates are up for eviction and they can't figure out who nominated them.
I don't mind it as a twist. Twists to put extra people up are fine. I'm not such a big fan of twists where really unpopular housemates can end up being artificially saved from being at risk (immunity, etc.)
Cherie
