yes i do prefer Salsa i think, she had teached her colleague paratriathletes some basic traditional salsa techniques tbh, that is her tiny bit of dance experience, she doesn't know every latin technique yet, but i reckon a bit of experience might help get you going into the flow

and ballroom is completely new to her, so what she achieved in just 2 training days was impressive

i have Always liked Lorraine and her show, she's such a nice lady :flutter:

i liked her charleston, full of character and quirky personality :clap1: she owned that performing bit which is impressive for someone who isn't an actress and/or stage performer for day job

my criticism, there were some technical flaws in this performance, but for a beginner this wasn't bad at all :love:

WOW Lauren & AJ doing couples choice this week, probably contemporary, or i hope it's contemporary cause that would suit her more than streetdance or jazz

contemporary i know a lot about, you need storytelling, and she had that with her waltz in week 1

perhaps what AJ said was true, contemporary can come close to ballroom i guess, you can include ballroom techniques into that while with streetdance you can include latin techniques, and Jazz you can include charleston or jive moves in

contemporary dances are amazing, potential vote winning performances, i have loads of them on dwts usa, let's dance Germany, dwts Australia and i am a huge fan of contemporary, it can be as beautiful as a normal ballroom dance but then 100 times more wow factor in it :cheer2:

Lauren and AJ came over nicely on ITT last night, lovely how Lauren already showed the air grab contemporary technique

gonna be more lifts, more difficult than in the charleston, in the contemporary there's no limit to how many lifts you can put in the routine so they don't need to worry about getting penalised by the judges

i think this can be a good showstopper performance, and i am confident this can be Lauren's breakthrough into becoming a dark horse :dance:

Go #TeamLAJ also liked how AJ told us that Lauren went from very shy to getting out of her shell and absolutely 100% enjoying every moment on strictly

She did really good.
A J designed a good, strong Paso there.
She delivered really well all through.

Still under marked by Darcey and Craig.
Although a 6 from Craig is a promising sign.

It was Laurens best performance thus far definitely.

loved how she gave that poisonous apple to Craig, fierce and it showed her improved confidence :love:

AJ's choreography was great here, he was also a good looking huntsman, that hairstyle suited him for the Paso :D

Mollie King will be a part of Lauren's Jive performance on saturday night :dance: revealed on ITT, playing the role of AJ's girlfriend

love that they are going for a character/storytelling again, which is a smart move considering she did so well at that in the Paso last week

Lauren's training, looking quite good, some nice clean kicks and flicks, also a nice jive technique demo time they did in the ITT studio after the interview :love:

she's opening up a lot more now, having more fun, very very nice to see her transformation from shy girl to a getting more confident, showing her fun personality a lot more :)

i think AJ will start off sitting next to Mollie and like that she will play a part in the performance

anyway Lauren's training looked good, and i hope it can take her into a first 30's score

that breakthrough last week was exactly what she needed

honestly on dance ability, she's above Dr Ranj, and sadly for me Graeme isn't improving that much either, and Charles well that he went back to 25 last week confirmed it for me that the streetdance was a one dance wonder

i so want it for Lauren to make it to blackpool, around my birthday :flutter:

overall i feel quite positive about this week for Lauren, comparing her charleston to some of the jive footage, well i can see definite improvement, more energy in her jive than that charleston (which clearly proves she was so nervous and shy in the early weeks)

honestly i see Lauren as a joint 4th place now with Joe, behind Ashley, Faye, Stacey

based on improvement, journey contestant material she's similar to Joe, improving week by week

Lauren made me proud yet again, loved her outfit, loved the attention for tiny detail in the kicks and flicks, loved the high energy throughout the dance, she just gotta learn to play a character a tiny bit better i agree with darcey, but that was only constructive criticism to keep improving which is good, i want her to keep upping her game

yes, and i think it's likely Lauren has a ballroom now for this week, she is due a slow ballroom anyway

i prefer foxtrot, cause Mollie's foxtrot was lovely, but i think Lauren can pick up the technique faster and i think AJ can give us a lovely basic smooth foxtrot choreo :)

she loves going to blackpool now, the place where AJ won his titles, which she knows how special that can be, winning titles for something what you are passionate about, and she is delighted that she can experience that now what it is like to be dancing in the tower ballroom

and also she's now to the point where Jonnie got eliminated last year, and honestly i think she can be here a few more weeks as long as she keeps working hard, their Chemistry is also getting strong now

viennese waltzes can be difficult (forward turns, reverse turns, fleckrls, pivots, and also worth a mention those tricks AJ put in the performance, which were also properly executed by Lauren with her strong core)

it has been a journey so far for me supporting her and aj

Strictly Come Dancing fans are loving Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard on the BBC talent show.

The pair have bonded well and appear to be performing well with each other.

Last weekend, Lauren and AJ got their highest score yet, bagging 34 for their Viennese Waltz.

They got very good criticism for their stunning routine, with Craig Revel Horwood saying it was the first time Lauren really “danced”.

The pair appeared on It Takes Two this evening to tell Zoe Ball how training is coming along.

But while they were there, Lauren dropped a big bombshell on Zoe and AJ.

The presenter asked whether she prefers athletics or dancing, to which Lauren said the latter.

“It might have overtaken…” she whispered as her professional partner erupted.
AJ exclaimed: “So great to hear that!”

Lauren went on: “The love for dance whereas now it’s like, ‘shall we try it like this?’

The pair will be performing an Argentine Tango in the coming weekend at Blackpool.

Their dramatic routine will be accompanied by River by Bishop Briggs.

Lauren gave an update on how rehearsals is going, telling Zoe she is already enjoying herself.

She said: “It’s intense and my brain feels a little bit like mashed potato.

“But I love the power and the intensity,” Lauren praised.

AJ went on to explain how there will be an added element of danger to the performance this weekend.

The couple are allowed to use lifts more so than usual, something the professional will revel in.

“The lifts are going to be something,” he teased.

AJ added: “I do go crazy when they say I can do lifts!”

yes the argentine tango is the most difficult dance with a huge variety of technique, but great to hear you like the power and intensity of it all :thumbs:

Lauren has been working hard in training yesterday :love:

i know her training footage at waite's warm up didn't look good, but that was at a different location, and they were just going through some random AT techniques at that day i can see that, and they have an AT expert with them anyway so what Ian said about the techniques she also knows and can advise Lauren to work on those mistakes, maybe she did that yesterday who knows, but anyway i am proud of Lauren no matter what, she's now got a fan for life in me

this fanclub i will remain posting in, also for the paratriathlon events, twitter messages from her and all that :)

yes they are both single, and the romance vibe can help for this weeks argentine tango :flutter:

apparently what Ian saw was them going through the steps, not the actual routine, that is from monday's footage

they went full on into the routine, on tuesday and wednesday, yesterday they had bit of rehearsing and filming the VT, most likely some other couples also filmed their VT, i think Kate & Aljaz went swimming in the sea

today they have tower ballroom rehearsal, with tomorrow morning dress rehearsal

so good luck Lauren & AJ, i just hope they can surprise me yet again :flutter: with something of their own, with good AT technique

AJ's radio interview, he didn't mention lifts so it can be either a ballroom like foxtrot or tango, or latin and then traditional salsa, which is without lifts (unlike the strictly salsa)

Lauren Steadman is this years Susan Calman i think

Susan last year brought joy, fun into strictly, and has a loveable personality, Lauren for me has exactly that this year

Lauren isn't the best technical dancer, but that's easy to explain, she as an athlete has lots of muscle in her legs so if it comes over heavy that is the explanation, while a gymnast like Claudia Fragapane is a lot more flexible and that was helpful for her dancing with AJ

the best dancers are Ash & Pash, Faye & Giovanni, Joe & Dianne, Stacey & Kevin but Lauren at least deserves to stay just one week longer than either smug Charles or wooden Graeme, that's all what i want and hope for

come on, i have Lauren in my signature :fist:

i don't feel stressed for her, i think Lau's tango could be phenomenal and i think her samba could be out of this world good, her training for that looked surprisingly great given she isn't a latin dancer

she does reverse samba rolls, interesting since that is far more difficult rather than with your back to your guy and then making the turns, now she looks at him while making those turns

i saw nice botafogo's in last nights itt rehearsal footage :thumbs:

overall this could be a steady week for her (sorry for the ''steady'' pun to her last name)

she does her thing, and i expect her fans to come in power voting as usual and i can see her in the final, as much as i hate dan wootton i think he is right that she and aj might be topping the vote :)

i have Lauren as my first fave and Ashley as my second fave

all of us teamlaj fans out there should be feeling proud of our fave dance couple, no more stress, nerves for us tonight, just fun and entertainment matters the most now

semi finals is already a great achievement for a complete novice what Lauren is, but of course i want AJ to break his semi final curse and get into the final for the first time

Favourite Dance: American smooth, loved her acting despite her never done that before she was great at that, viennese waltz a close second which was divine

Favourite Costumes: her samba dress i liked the flowers on that, and viennese waltz again a close second also nice matching outfits Vicky did a great job at making costumes for Lauren and AJ

Favourite Music: in love with a wonderful guy, followed by you are the reason, and also her salsa song familiar i quite like

Favourite Strictly Moment from Lauren: on it takes two when they did their jive technique demo time

Favourite non strictly moment from them: with 79 yr old sea turtle Lulu but also appearing on the last leg they were so funny on that as May & Corbyn
