View Full Version : Is Cameron’s (or anyone’s) age an excuse for their behaviour on big brother?

I’ve seen a lot of comments on social media that literally start with ‘.. he’s just 18’ and it begs the question if young age excuses bad behaviour on big brother

What 'behaviour' has he displayed,he just comes across as a nice guy who has just 'come out' I haven't seen anything bad in him at all, why are people so desperate to get at this guy?

I’m referring to the constant snapping/goading and misery that even the newcomers have picked up on

No.
Your personality dictates your behaviour, not you age, good or bad.

It's mystifying totally to me too Kazanne.

Yet someone like Kim Woodburn got away with her behaviour because ‘respect her she’s old’.

Age plays no part in how someone should be perceived in my view, if someone’s acting like a twat, then they’re a twat, no matter how old they are, It seems to me that young housemates get tarred with the ‘brat’ brush if they have a moment or two but the older housemates get away with murder because they’ve lived longer, it doesn’t sit right with me.

I think he has been a complete A hole at times, not a nice guy at all

I'm fed up of hearing "awww bless he's only 18" , if he was a little child he wouldn't even be allowed on BB ! . Yet people treat him like a child who's brain hasn't developed properly yet .

He may act like one ,but that doesn't and shouldn't excuse his terrible behaviour ! .
people have suddenly forgotten what a rude moron he is just because of his pathetic soap plot :bored: .

He is no snappier than anyone else...he does look miserable sometimes but so do most of them (Sians by far the worst)...and he hasn't goaded anyone. As for the new housemates..I haven't heard them comment on any of these things.
I think you are reaching as you dislike Cameron and posted thread after thread after thread on him..

He has really entertained me Kazanne.
I see nothing malicious in him whatsoever.

The venom, repeated almost hysterically, is both sad to see and I think beyond understanding Kazanne.

You're right too, he has been spot on about some housemates as you point out too.

I agree with you here, Joey. There seems to have been a venomous response to him (and Tomasz actually) and it is hard to see what he has done to justify this. It seems to be an extreme reaction.

Yes, he is unusual for a teenager, in that he does tend to moan a lot, but he has an unusual combination of characteristics that I think just makes him more interesting to watch. He is at least multi-dimensional unlike some housemates in there who contribute very little. I find his relationships with different types of personalities make him more interesting too.

I agree completely.

As you say, he is in interesting, I like interesting housemates.

I've been entertained all through by him.

I have blown hot and cold with him if im honest because I watched his feminist rant on YouTube which made me sceptical. I think his coming out has been a bit of gameplay..although having said that I can see why he used BB as a platform.
He is 18..some 18 year olds are younger than others..if you know what I mean....and Teenagers ARE moody. He is amongst older people with more life experiences.
I cant help but like him...and I know im going to well up watching him tonight...cos im an emotional wuss.

Why didn't he use YouTube to come out ??? He's a vlogger . He's miserable in the BB house and he clearly hates living with other strangers.

He wanted so much attention . He's in the UK , it's not like he's in a country with no human rights ! .

The way he is behaving isn't a crime

I think he knows exactly what he is doing and when to do it. This being only 18 thing is just not applicable. People are free to like his approach/ personality or not. I don't. I think he is as big a game player as Tomasz and Lewis.

Personally, i cringe at the whole making a speech thing to the house like some revelation that is all new when its been told by him at least 20 times already. I put it firmly in the letters from home category of cringe, but that's just me, I don't demand everyone else treats it the same way

If an 80 yr old ****s themselves I'm excusing them because of their age.

Absolutely not. 18 is considered an adult these days so he should behave like one or if he doesnt it SHOULD not be put down to his age

If anything the biggest shock would be Tomasz coming out as straight !!.
As that would be something nobody expects .

But Cameron is announcing it like it's the biggest secret of the century , when the attention seeker has been stringing this terrible plot for the past few weeks :bored: .

I don't really get the 'they are only 18' comments used to excuse bad behaviour. Like, at 18 I had left home, was holding down a fulltime job whilst also caring for a friend who was living with me who had severe autism. Age is not an excuse to be a tit.

Though I don't really see what Cameron has done that is excused by age? I have certainly seen it with other housemates though

I think that age on average can normally explain some behavioural patterns in people, however if Cameron is old enough to be on the show then he can be judged for his behaviour on the show whether it's good or bad behaviour.

Exactly he's old enough to be in the BB house so he's old enough to be criticised .

Meh. If I can overlook a poster from this forum leaving his crappy job because it's boring and crappy, then I can forgive some behaviours from younger HMs - not that Cameron has really done anything bad.
