..I’m sure he does genuinely want to leave at times...those times being when he’s feeling oppressed by what he feels is the bad energy...but then that oppression is lifted by the good energy of those he sees in a more positive but on the whole, there couldn’t be a house more positive and understanding toward him..he’s not seeing though how understanding and tolerant the house are being because as a person, most of them really like him so make allowances for him and rearrange for him and adjust for him etc, etc ...but as a housemate he’s proving not easy to live with...he’s the oppressor really, although he doesn’t mean to be so and doesn’t see the bad or exhausting energy he creates... when Lewis gets anxious and upset, they have to soothe him over...they have to try to not upset him and trigger his anxieties...and some are less tolerant because...how many allowances do they make for one person, so that he doesn’t become anxious and unhappy...?...I guess the answer is lots and lots and lots of allowances, which they’re constantly making and trying to help him with his unbalances...but no matter how much positive energy he’s given by so many people and with so much understanding and with so much tolerance and genuine affection toward him...his head will pick and pick and pick away until he finds that negative energy to latch on to again and to drive him crazy ...

It is really ironic that Lewis will express the need for calm and positive energy, yet as you say, creates a very heavy and exhausting energy through his paranoia and negativity. It's almost like he self sabotages for some reason.

However, it is clear he is aware of his own issues, and is making efforts to address them. Though it is also clear that sometimes those issues control him rather than him controlling them.

..in another year, in another house etc...I’m totally certain that he couldn’t have coped with it at all, Garfie...and would have run for the door in a complete meltdown...but this house, these people are the positive energy that are keeping him in, the very reason why he’s remained..?...yeah, there is negativity toward him obviously, there couldn’t not be...but it’s just like a drop compared to the ocean of support and understanding he’s getting you know..they make so many allowances for him but he makes so few allowances for them...those them people who are just having fun, who are just being silly and sometimes crude and sometimes loud, but often bored...who are just embracing every aspect of their experience ...like every big brother which has gone before...:laugh:...because they realise the importance of surface and deep and the balance of the two...a balance that Lewis is incapable of unless it’s on his terms which are very uncompromising...

Yes, much as I think he would be extremely interesting to talk to, I think he would become too intense and overbearing in a conversation. His mood swings and erratic nature must also be very difficult to live with. And you're right, for some reason he can't find a balance - in so many ways- he cannot get balance even in his own mind and thought processes. I bet a therapist would find him so interesting to treat! A fascinating specimen!

well I've seen him enjoying it, probably more than some of the other whingers in there. he has some very light & funny moment, I know this cos it brings a smile to my face every time. of course he has down time too but no more than any of the others, although its hard to tell when some of the others are having down time or what they would perceive as up time, sian springs to mind, now she does seem permanently miserable
