View Full Version : Why the F was Kenaley EVEN put up ?

Was it a case of sexism against Women standing up for themselves while Men are allowed to, put up for that by a Maj Female Audience. Is that why she was EVEN put up ?
Think we all know why she went. The shallowness that more of Maj Female audience fancied Akeem.
But i just cant fathom why she was put up unless it s those that put her up were displaying sexism. That Men can stand up for themselves but Women aren t allowed to.
i thought she was brilliant when she stood up to Lewis G and Isaac. Both of them deserved it. i heard bit of rubbish prob on BOTS about how Kenaley had been too aggressive towards Isaac.
i mean, the sheer hypocrisy of that. It was obviously Isaac who was the more aggressive one, leaning over a much smaller person than him and growling down at her in an aggressive way. She did well to tell him where to get off with that one. Any Real Men if there were any sitting nearby would have stood up and protected her to tell him to shut the f up and sit back down. Unfortunately there were no real men nearby to do that so Kenaley had to do it herself.
She should have been rewarded and thought more highly of for standing up to them and not put up for it, if that s what it was mainly about, that Men can stand up for themselves but the viewers were fitting in with the stereotype brainwashed into them, doing no good for the cause of Women as a whole, that Women are not meant to stand up and defend themselves.

It was a case of voting for your favourite housemate and as Kenaley hadn’t been shown that much compared to some others, not as many people voted for her
Still don’t understand why it wasn’t Sian though

She was nominated because she didn't offer anything all that interesting and was less entertaining than other housemates. Nothing less, nothing more. :)

Vanessa voted for Raph like 5 million times, thats the simple reason for that

That's because they are usually not very nice , entitlled and gobby, but I don't think Kenaley was too bad, the public obviously didn't take to her so much, but doubt it was to do with her colour.

i wasn't on this forum during bb18 but apparently they've been able to sway votes before
it was an isabelle landslide anyway iirc but unless the voting number are that low tibb can severely influence vote to win its still concerning since debs had like 50% of the airtime that week with the kieran/hannah storylines and got less votes than someone who had like one story arc with chanelle 20 episodes ago

This.
I think this whole thing comes down to how the producers usually cast black women. If you look at most series, you will see that there's a black woman casted based off stereotypes - so the loud, gobby, argumentative type. Some examples would be Adele (argumentative), Makosi (all three lol), Charley, Alexandra, Sylvia, Sophia, Gina and Toya.
To claim that the public are voting housemates out purely based on the fact they are black, is a silly thing to say and believe.

Tiffany was a very divisive housemate and those types very rarely win lol. Nothing racist about it.

Black women on BB have to work twice as hard to get half as many votes compared to whites. Facts are facts America.

At this point you can't deny it's about race. The best a black girl can hope for is 3rd or 4th regardless of their personality and it just goes to show that the old saying is right. A black person (in this case, woman) has to do twice as much to get the same as everyone else and even then they'd still get passed over by a dull white guy. A lot of people said Kenaley is boring but there's plenty of white people in that house that had as much screen time as she did yet they aren't being put up by the public every week.
Racism makes white people uncomfortable, I get it but to deny it doesn't accomplish anything. There is an evident racial bias when it comes to voting and it's often true for most shows with a public vote.

I think the issue is more that plenty of white men have been praised for those exact qualities (loud, gobby, and argumentative)

even if a black girl is liked she always fail to garner up enough support as shown with Tiff, Gina, Sandi, and Debs
not saying that internalized racism is the only factor that plays into it but it's DEFINITELY a good bit of it

if a black woman has a voice, she's aggressive and if she's not, then she's too dull
they'll never win in the eyes of not only the public but in society in general

I still find it ridiculous how Kenny was low in the poll AGAIN , Sian is getting by on her looks :bored: . Why did people not take to Kenny at the time but they preferred Sian? who was more like an extra in a tv show in the backround . It's only now we're seeing more of Sian  .
And even Brooke beat Kenny . And again Brooke was a background character, and is only getting air time now due to her weird love /hate relationship with Lewis and because she's a bit of a game player now .

sandi had joint highest odds to win at the start of the series iirc for the first week. they were even kinda high when she got evicted, tho idk why. she was a major disappointment for me and i think a lot of the social media and bookie support was due to people anticipating her to be as good as she was on goggle box, which she really really wasn't lol i personally wouldn't put that 1 down to race imho

I agree with what you say about Sian...I don't know how she's getting votes.
Brooke has had interactions and sensible conversations with several housemates..I don't entirely trust her but at least she's not just ranting.

yeah, but people arent going vote for someone because they are racist, and want another housemate to lose, it just doesn't work like that.
Sian did much better in those viewers polls than Kay ... and so did Kenaley, so, i just dont get this racist stuff at all.
