According to The Sun’s “TV source” at least anyway:
THE next series of Big Brother could be on Netflix after streaming bosses scheduled secret meetings to buy the show.
Endemol, who own the format of the programme, are sitting down with the service next week to discuss a deal after Channel 5 decided to not renew.
A TV source told the Sun: “Netflix could be the saviours of Big Brother — the news fans have wanted to hear since Channel 5 made the announcement.
“Executives at Endemol are meeting with Netflix early next week.
“Of course it’s still early days.
“Streaming sites have a lot of money so it’s an option they’re looking at.”
It comes after Netflix announced it is commissioning two series of Channel 4 flop The Circle.
Earlier this week presenter of Big Brother Emma Willis said she hoped it would come back.
ITV had been tipped as favourites to bring it back.

If it were coming back to TV it would definitely need a few years rest first, but going to Netflix is completely different! It’d be targeting a whole new audience, have a drastically different format / look / feel (while still being technically the same show) etc so wouldn’t need a break to feel fresh
is this brought to us by the same team that said ITV were doing a deal?

I would agree that Big Brother needs a good rest, but a potential move to Netflix is quite an exciting prospect.

Netflix will most likely make it the North American format as it suits them better

Yep, the show which had 6 million catch up streams x
Btw this is Andy Halls who is banned from strictly events due to him and Woottons vendetta against strictly (allegedly because Wootton is jealous that Ranj got strictly and not him)

There would be no scheduling messes, adverts, split evictions!

NOT CHANNEL 4 FLOP THE CIRCLE :skull: idon'tlikeyou.gif
I'm for it, but a part of me is worried about it being Americanized and losing the British sparkle.

It's been rested for 7 years since moving to Channel 5. Time for it to be Big Brother again.
All this show needs to be a success is a format everyone can follow, good housemates and a 24/7 feed. It hasn't had any of that in years.

Anyway I don't want it to come back at all unless there's 24/7 Live Feed. That's the whole point of Big Brother.

The prospect of Netflix is very exciting but the show needs to be rested until January 2020 at least. Overkill is what killed the ratings on Channel 5, viewers need a break to reignite interest for its return.

If Netflix got it, would they also get access to show previous series?
If Netflix got it, would they also get access to show previous series?
Depends on if they get the licensing like when C5 got the licence of the past series from C4 but that wasn’t until a few years after BB12. It would be a good idea.

They'd simply eliminate the public vote.

Why would channel 5 bother buying that? They've never aired them.

I hope this means Netflix would use their own production people, and the show would finally be rid of the current production staff who have run it into the ground. I want a total purge and new take on the format.
1. Bring back Live Feed.
2. No more Scumbag Olympics. Cast at least some likeable people.
3. Stop pushing Progressive ideology, and stop catering almost exclusively to girls and homosexuals. Make it an entertainment show, not a propaganda outlet. Make it a show for everyone.
Why would channel 5 bother buying that? They've never aired them.
T* mentioned it so he probs knows what he's on about better than me BUT I think they bought it for when they did that one-off episode bout Heroes vs Villains (or the best moments of BB) and they used clips of C4 episodes
They only ever used C4 clips in that one show though which is, bizarre

They wouldn't really buy the rights to C4 series just to do that, they'd just credit channel 4 and/or pay a fee.

They aired clips when they ran that Big Brother best bits series a couple of years back. I forgot which series it was alongside now, but they had 6 different episodes and included clips from C4 and C5.
But it's true that as far as we are aware, Channel 5 hold the rights to air C4's series of Big Brother, as per their contract. They lose that right when the contract expires in December this year - then any future clips would have to be requested from Channel 4/Endemol.
