Say what you like about how this series has panned out but in terms of production it is without question the best on Channel 5 :clap1:

They were true to their word with what I was told at the auditions (not putting anyone who'd been on reality TV before through casting), there was a consistent format with new elements that were brilliant additions (Big Coins and the Power of Veto Gamechanger). The tasks were AMAZING, and there were no **** stirring "who said this" ones designed to manufacture drama. Some of them were themed really well too, unlike the tackiness we've become accustomed to over the last few years. They tried a new (this side of the pond at least) twist in the form of the double eviction, which was executed way better than they have been in the past

There was NO FACE TO FACE NOMS! :o They FINALLY opened the vote to win lines a week in advance again (I've been asking for this for years)...isn't it the first time on C5? Waaaaay overdue, and proof of how a long VTW can salvage a final :clap2:

The stairs were closed off, the outside lounge back, Marcus was seriously toned down, the editing was relatively stripped back, no crowd noise, etc etc etc.

I have been seriously critical and vitriolic towards the production team in recent years, it's frankly astonishing that I'm even making a thread like this...but they've all done an amazing job  if only we'd had Paul Osborne and Trevor Boris in 2011...who knows where we'd be now?

Didn't like the viewer nom thing. And it got silly towards the end with attempts at changing the voting format and nomination process. I did enjoy this one though, in general.

The viewer nom was trash

Yeah its been very well done. Shame that the cast was so poor though really. This series could have been amazing.

The viewer nom was quite silly though, with the way they did it.

The viewer nom was fine cause it caused paranoia, it was just a bit pointless to have it in a series conducted under VTE

I have enjoyed it, but if you have watched any of the North American versions I think the influence is really rather blatant. It feels a little like they're trying to see how many elements of BBCan they could 'pinch' without taking the whole format. I'm not too sure a lot of this more strategic elements work with a public vote, honestly (you can't play tactically with such imperfect knowledge), but everything on the whole has been a step up thanks to Boris and Osbourne.

Oh for sure, even some of the Gamechanger comps were lifted straight from BBCan. Personally I'm hoping if the show returns in the near future it's the precursor to the public vote being binned off at long last

Even in interviews when Emma talked about it being "more strategic" to the evictees, that felt like prepping the audience for a potential shift.

Aside from the viewer noms twist which didn't make sense, the production has been top notch and it has probably got to be the best since BB9...

A shame most of the housemates really weren't that good or appealing to me...

With a ****ty cast and an even ****tier eviction order that could never be salvaged by production

Brilliant series except for the last week or so, Lewis and Tomasz going at once was a big let down. It will always be remembered for them removing a HM at the beginning and one at the end. Not good.

Well I'm never going to agree with the circumstances of most people's ejections in recent years, in fact I think they're pathetic...but I do wonder how much influence C5 have had in that.

Aside from that though, it's been pretty stellar

I agree for the most part but the viewer nom was pointless. The task team though can take a very very big bow Oh and thank GOD there were no showmances

It was definitely the best produced C5 series.

I feel like it would've made even less sense under VTS because then each eviction would've been forecast earlier in the week and the entire nomination process would've been undermined.

But yeah, most of the Shopping Tasks were a lot of fun and we actually had a consistent nomination process and Big Coin was at least interesting if not also a little tacky!

From my perspective though, it would've ensured a bore was culled almost every week which is a-okay with me, and I haven't cared about normal noms for years anyway. The great thing has just been having a consistent format, I wouldn't have minded had they scrapped them and gone with something else

VTS has never guaranteed a bore would go every single week. Proof = Every single time it was used.

Hence why I didn't say that!

culled almost every week

VTS is not foolproof - never has been, never will be, but it has a much better hit-rate than VTE does.

It's the first time since like... BB13 (maybe some of 14?) that the producers actually seemed to put effort into the tasks
