I don't watch it but that's odd considering how popular she was when she was in IAC

She's not disliked people just don't support a professional dancer coming in and being brilliant in week 1 and remains brilliant.
They like to watch novices learn and improve over the weeks.
She's on the wrong show.

It's nothing personal.
The public would just much rather see an absolute beginner like Stacey win over someone with previous dancing/showbiz experience, ballroom or not.
I really like Ashley but she's "too good".

It's why Stacey won the show.

Joe's got a bigger fan base though.

She still remains my favourite but I don't want her to win which sounds odd I know. I do think it's better when someone who started out an underdog and pretty weak goes on to achieve perfect scores and become a dancer for that reason I want Stacey to win

I honestly believe at least partially it is her being American.
Plenty have been adored with previous experience, look at the guy from The Wanted. He was a trained dancer, before that bad he was a dancer but he got support and Alesha Dixon was a previous winber who was a dancer.

I think IAC and Strictly have different audiences though. I don't know anyone my age eho watches apart from a few girls I still chat to I used to be in a dance troupe with.

She's not disliked. The others have stronger fan bases and the public like it when they see progression rather than just always being the top dog. This is why the best technical dancer doesn't usually win.

I always support the one i most connect with. Sometimes thats the best dancer, other times it's not.
My favourite is Joe, but i also like Stacey.

Yikes :skull: .
But even Arlene Philips said strictly would be limited if they made a rule to ban trained dancers as it would even affect actors / panto & theatre performers as they wouldn't be allowed to compete
It's impossible for the competition to just be full of dance Virgins , obviously if some have had more dancing experience than others it can be "unfair" , but its been happening on strictly for years . It's never going to be a level playing field .

Not really there's a difference to having done a bit of dancing, and being a fully trained/had a full dancing career.
The entire point of her role in the PCD was as a dancer.

Faye was also in a band aswell , and over the years there's been a few celebrities who have been in bands or been to stage school & dance classes prior .
