Eastenders Christmas 2018 vs 2017

Which was the better ep? 2017 clinches it for me bc it shocked me more whereas this years' was a bit more predictable. Both were great though :p

2017 by a mile. This year was bad besides the ending.

This year's was a bit more "EastEnders by numbers". It was the template for an EE Xmas special anyone could come up with really and I think that's what spoiled it.

The story was twisted to fit into a "standard" EE Xmas even if it didn't entirely fit.

Whereas last year seemed a bit more malleable and unpredictable with a couple of surprises.
