According to a Corrie spoilers page (which has been very reliable in the past), they are returning to their roles, whereas Michelle Keegan and Amanda Barrie are in the special
'Coronation Street Spoilers and News' says they are returning for the 60th Anniversary episode, while Michelle and Amanda are in the documentary

Emma is lovely comedy relief but her life's gonna change in the near future (I'll be vague for the sake of spoilers)
Not that there's anything too wrong with that, but I just hope at least one character's storyline this year is light and fun (the horse plot is BORING sorry!). Hopefully that's Moira's
I hope Emma stays the same (in the long run)/recognisable, I kinda wish we had more focus on her and a nice fun story with her before what lies ahead </3

When I think about it, does Moira even have friends? Sure she's friends with Liz but Liz isn't really fond of her and I think Moira's realised that. I can't recall the last time they ever really tackled a story of a character being 'lonely' (the type of loneliness that leads to health problems). Contrary to what I said, I'd be up for this story!

Should be a good story though and i’m glad that Paul is getting a big story. It seems a wash and repeat of the Aaron story that Iain McCloud did at Emmerdale, but it’s an important story so I’m sure they’ll do it well.

Emma's 'dad' told her he wasnt hers on his death bed. She rang her mum and she confirmed it. Emma left her phone with Audrey and when it rang Audrey saw Fiona on the screen as the caller saying 'mum'.
Sounds like Fiona is only "returning" via a skype call at some point this week.
Thing is, Fiona and Jim had a fling at one point. I don't know when, but I'd much rather it turned out that Emma was Jim's daughter as opposed to giving Steve his 38th child.

The parents are unremarkable, the eldest son is a failed businessmen and the youngest son is a closeted footballer apparently, all are pretty bad

They've not really done a lot so far despite the fact they must have arrived about three months ago now.
Eddie is the Dad, seems to be the street's next builder as he's now helping rebuild the factory after the roof collapse.
Aggie is the mother and she's literally done nothing apart from have a brief feud with Claudia about noise levels from building work.
Michael is the oldest, seems to be a typical soap ducker and diver, cheeky ladies man who has already tried to get Michelle and Maria into bed.
James is the footballer who Steve, Tim and Kevin are obsessed with because he plays for Weatherfield County. Apparently he's gay which considering they haven't even hinted at that yet seems stupid that we already know that.
They've hinted that there's some secret they're all keeping about why they moved away and to the street.
tbh this storyline feels like it's gone on forever though. I remember seeing Tyler and Robert together months ago and thinking "oh jeez Michelle's gonna be gone by this month!"
I just checked and Vicky and Robert's storyline began on this day 2 months ago (when Robert broke up with her and it was revealed Robert was going to be the father of her child)
The whole "whodunnit?" storyline with the factory collapse lasted between 20th March and 31st May so... 72 days
Meanwhile this storyline has gone on for 61 days (if it's wrapped up by Friday, 63 days) with no set end truly in site...idk it's just really funny to me that the storyline in which Michelle leaves has taken nearly as long as the really hyped up whodunnit? storyline :laugh:

If I can give them one thing it's that this cheating storyline is evolving more into some double-life thing which hasn't really been done for a good while/since I've watched regularly, so I'm glad that Robert just didn't have a one-night stand with Vicky, got her pregnant, regretted it, and Michelle finds out and leaves overnight in anger
Basically: I'm glad that a cheating storyline is going a bit differently than I expected. Granted there's only so many ways you can cheat on someone, but yknow :laugh:

For months they were hyped up to be this new family moving into Number 3 and... honestly for some of them, those brief descriptions we got about them on social media and in news tells us more than what we've seen of them being on the cobbles for 2 months at the very least (which feels a tad ridiculous, when you think about the fact we're getting around 2 and a half hours of Corrie each week? And the brand new family has barely appeared in that time?)

It seems that we're saying goodbye to Michelle, Robert, and Kate this month, Sophie sometime soon (for her maternity leave), Sinead by Christmas, and Bethany by this time next year. I like to imagine we'll see them get more involved once Robert/Kate/Michelle leave because we'd be looking at a couple months at least until Sinead starts to go.
Emma's BRILLIANT and as much as I really liked her light, fun side, it's (a bit awful and inhumane to say this :worry:) good to see her in a more serious storyline. Gemma was comedy relief that... worked better being on the sidelines as comedy relief (I liked her when she was offering 3 lines an episode, way before her pregnancy storyline) so I was scared I might go off Emma like I did with Gemma when a character that's usually to the sides crackin' jokes gets a 'serious' storyline.
I'm hoping Chesney won't be involved since Paul's barely been involved in the pregnancy storyline (I can only think of the time he found out and him being iffy with her for wanting to live with their mum) but who knows. Paul and Billy just seem like a lustful relationship tbh, I just don't see any love or chemistry between them. Something tells me they're gonna go for a James x Paul storyline later on so maybe this will be the end of Paul and Billy?

Her final episodes/scenes were very well done.
About time they did a story like this that wasn't spoiled by ridiculous stunts or downing poisoned lemonade like Hayley etc.
But the story as a whole was rather hit and miss. She was extremely healthy for the longest time despite not receiving any treatment.

I thought they did a great job up until this week, can't say I was that moved and I was a bit bored :omgno:
Acting wise, there hasn’t been a duff performance from anybody in this story, especially Katie McGlynn and Rob Mallard (can’t WAIT to see where they take Daniel from here, he’s been so dull since getting with Sinead) and there’s been some really nice, moving script moments but they slightly overegged it in places. Sinead’s monologue to Bertie went on way too long the other night and the weird filming techniques they used tonight didn’t really make sense or add anything but it’s been a strong story on the whole.

Aw, I thought it was done really well. It made me cry :laugh: the only bit that bugged me was the Barlows all talking about previous deaths, trying to outdo each other :laugh: Katie acted it well (although that weird shoulder twitch was annoying)

Ridiculous storyline she looked pregnant with one child ~ have you seen how enormous women having quads get !!! and they spend the end of their pregnacy in hospital and thet usually have other complications.
Then wheeling her into hospital the doc takes the baby like an afterthough ~ they would have had an incubator there ready , Whole thing was a total joke the writers treating people like morons. Absolutley pathetic.

The pacing of the story is absolutely awful as we only discovered she was feeling lonely on Friday and since then she’s been acting like nobody has spoken to her in weeks and it’s not like she isn’t considered to be an important part of the community with plenty of friends, but it’s always good to see the characters that have been in it for decades step into the limelight and Barbara Knox will be heartbreaking.
Senorita Rita, who could be queen of Spain!!! Gemma would go round at least, and Jenny. It's stupid writing.

I agree with the criticisms of the plot that they haven't really done well establishing what Yasmeen sees in Geoff in the first place?
Like what is the part of him she fell in love with? What is the part of him that she clings onto when he "turns"? He's been an irritating arsehole since he arrived so why she developed a relationship with him in the first place is letting the story down IMO.

I get that the message was that they were uniting in a time of crisis which is nice and poignant especially since Rita was feeling lonely but READ THE ****ING ROOM!!

Like the rest of the soapa it just got a meh from me. We knew Robert was coming out of it any day now anyway.
This is the problem with soaps these days to me. We know who's leaving months and months beforehand and the storylines in between don't interest me, cause I know their character will be gone.

Have to say I originally didn't think much of Evelyn as a character (even though I knew how good an actress Maureen Lipman can be) but WOW she's like the highlight of most episodes now for me. The emotional side she showed tonight in the Doctor's surgery was brilliant. Love her, "Corrie Icon" written all over her and I hope she sticks around for a long, long time.

I forget why they turned Daniel into a drug addict for one episode. God, Rob Mallard is amazing though. They need to keep him. Good actors that can smash any scene they're in are few and far between on Corrie atm.
