Schoolboy mugged for his coat in McDonald’s as staff and customers watch/do nothing

THIS is the shocking moment a schoolboy appears to be mugged for his coat as McDonald's staff and customers look on and do nothing.
The menacing figures appear to demand the 15-year-old boy's jacket - who shrugs it off and hands it over.

The hooded men were caught on CCTV, with one wearing a camouflage jacket and the other a black hoodie.
During the apparent confrontation, one of the men can be seen appearing to hold out his hand to the young boy.

Bewildered staff can be seen walking around the stand off as it unfolds.
At one point, one worker does appear to try to intervene - walking between the group and trying to speak to one of the hooded men.
The two men then run off, leaving the young boy alone.
The confrontation, believed to have taken place at the fast food chain in Enfield, North London, was filmed about 8.30am on March 22.

Footage of the incident has since been shared online, with many left shocked at the blatant apparent mugging.
One person wrote: "This is so shocking. I really feel for the young boy. No one should ever have to experience this. Does anyone know who he is? I want to buy him a new coat. I have made enquiries of my own only to be told that the matter is under investigation.
"Meanwhile the boy here continues to suffer the consequences of what he has had to endure.
"Whatever way you look at it, this should never be allowed to happen particularly in public, in an establishment like Mc D's and in broad day light. Absolutely disgusting."
Another added: "Look how distressed the poor young boy is."
A third wrote: "Worse off is that the staff do nothing."
Met Police confirmed they were investigating the Church Street incident.
A spokesperson said: "Police in Enfield are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was robbed of his jacket in a fast-food restaurant.
"No weapon was involved and the victim was not harmed.

As someone who use to work in McDonalds they always say stay out of danger especially if you believe a weapon could be involved but they have panic button that contact the police straight away so that bit confuses me

Easy to say when you're not in that situation tbh.

When you work in retail, you're told not to intervene in dangerous situations. You have to alert authorities while not engaging the dangerous individual. If someone does so and they get hurt, they won't be insured for it and you can bet they'll face disciplinary action for going against procedure.

I work in retail myself so I'm aware of the rules regarding about not intervening in dangerous situations. Like you say, we're supposed to alert if any danger occurs, yet it didn't look like any of them had alerted anyone. One of the staff members is seen just walking around the incident without alerting her fellow colleagues. Why didn't she inform them of what was occurring and then call the security guard?

If I was a customer and I witnessed that incident, I would immediately inform the the staff or the security guard. I won't just sit there and do nothing.

I went into a mcdonalds in Camden last year and i was horrified, and ive been in many, even peckham and place like that.

The camden one was an absolute mess, people begging in the shop. coming up to you on the self service machines asking you to buy them things. gross. totally put me off my food.

I shall avoid north london mcdonalds.

Scottish ministers have been urged to heavily increase funding for drugs addicts after Scotland recorded the highest level of drugs deaths in Europe last year.

The latest figures showed a record number of 934 people died in Scotland as a direct result of drug overdoses, more than double the number a decade ago and two and a half times the rate UK-wide.

In a similar situation (kid was being violently bullied in a Mcdons, but not robbed as far as we knew), my mum once pretended she knew him, she said "John, THERE you are," and steered him away from them.

I was in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester recently and two teenagers (around 16) were being seriously manhandled by two older guys probs mid 20s, the kids kept shouting for help and it looked terrifying, at one point one was.on the floor and then dragged back up. Everyone was watching and muttering but doing nothing. Fuelled by a few 2 4 1 cocktails, I decided to step in and went over to calm the situation....and nearly got arrested for obstructing the police. The two young lads were pickpockets and the thugs were undercover police who didnt take too kindly to me steaming in with my best Manc "what the ****s going on here you big bullys" tirade. But at least I tried to do the right thing
