It's in the works to be an All Winners season!

For almost 20 years, Survivor has stood tall at the top of the reality-tv food chain, in that time, the show has filmed 38 seasons (and is currently shooting its 39th) across five continents, in 18 different countries. It’s the ultimate test of endurance, social politics, and strategic gameplay, and of the nearly 600 contestants to play this crazy game, only 37 of them can lay claim to the title of Sole Survivor.

Now, for Survivor’s milestone fortieth season, Inside Survivor has learned that the show is inviting back a cast of former winners for what promises to be an epic battle for supremacy. That’s right, fans have dreamed and speculated for years, and now finally, Survivor is about to celebrate its 20th year with a season comprised entirely of past champions.

An “all winners” (will likely have a different title) season is an interesting development given Jeff Probst’s feelings on the concept. Last September, in an interview with Us Weekly, the host and executive producer said “We can’t do all winners… As a producer, I would never suggest it. I would say it’s not a good idea.”

The Emmy-winner went on to say, “We have 10 great winners that you’d want to see play again. We don’t have 20. We don’t have 18. Some of the winners don’t want to play again. Some of the greats are like, ‘No, we’re done.’” However, he admitted that the network execs at CBS were really high on the idea.

“[CBS is] pitching me all the time,” he continued. “And I’m going, ‘I’ll sit down with you and show you the list!’ We don’t have it. And if I sat down and we wasted our time and I walked you through all our winners, you would say, ‘Oh, you’re right. You don’t have a season.’ We have a tribe of winners, that’s it.”

Obviously something changed since then and the CBS higher-ups managed to get their way – I will detail the entire, chaotic casting process for this season in a later post. This champion-filled season isn’t scheduled to film until next month and so all casting rumors will remain on lock in the meantime.

If I had to take a guess I'd assume it will be an 18 person season (they'd struggle to get 10 women IMO as there's only 14 female winners).

When in reality she was a decent side character, had a few “moments” and just happened to win with a good social game and some decent moves. Nothing to totally scold or praise that much. Are we sure they're going to cast all winners? I'd see a Champions vs. Challengers season, but not 20 winners. We have fourteen and since they haven't called Vacepia, they're not calling Amber, Natalie W, and I don't think Parvati would do it. Jenna is on drugs. This leaves us with nine female players. Of those nine, I would see Sandra, Tina, and Denise as locks. If a woman wins Season 38, I see them. Sarah and Natalie A. also have high chances. Danni, Kim, and Sophie are unlikely because they were on unpopular seasons and aren't memorable to casuals.

As far as men go, hopefully, it's those that haven't returned to the game that get the call. Boston Rob would probably not do it anyways and we don't need Tyson or JT because they've already played three times.

Also, many fans might not like the idea of a guarantee of someone winning $1,000,000 twice. If there are challengers, it leaves the suspense of whether we'll get another two-time winner or will someone new beat out ten winners. Challengers can also fill archetypes that won't be filled by the Champions tribe.

Tyson, he could be funny and as I've said before he feels like my type of douchey/sarcastic/annoying-yet-funny type of comedy character but it hasn't translated for me that well while watching him. He can be hit/miss so I'm curious going into this season with all winners. Michele, I just now remember how much she says "bro" & "dude" and that's a good look. :joker: More importantly it might put some closure on why she has such strong opinions from people. It's time to find out: Is she overrated or underrated? :think: Again, curious how she does with all winners around too.

A final 4 of at least 3 of those would make for an insane season. Unfortunately I don’t see Sandra having a shot this season & Tony (and even the other 2) prob don’t have the best shot either.

Same here in France. They keep filming in Fiji and I'm over it. From the French host, apparently TF1 (biggest French channel) and CBS are sharing locations such as beaches and tribal council locations.

I mean I am *dying* to go back to an actual endurance Challenge for the finale. Not this stupid balance a ball while standing on a beam and gradually make it more and more narrow so the Challenge doesn’t last more than 25 minutes stuff. Give me Hands on the Idol for five hours. Give me the Palau one that went for ten hours. A true test of how bad do you want it.

The more I think about it the less and less excited I am. Not only do I think a lot of the winners are boring and not really good television, but then you throw in Edge of Extinction, Fire Tokens, a gazillian Idols and Advantages, 60 minute episodes, and a 20 person cast meaning that we'll need like four ****ing double boots and the edit is going to become a complete dumpster fire. It's going to be another Cambodia/Game Changers all over again where you can't even follow a plotline.
