A lovely guy...soft as a cuddly toy...says ALL the right things...a mummy’s boy but he punches the **** out of people in a boxing ring. I just don’t get it
You have to be of a certain nature to box...you have to have aggression and hurt people...why doesn’t it translate?

If I was his brother Tyson...I would be a bit embarrassed that he has come out looking like a doormat.
Don’t get me wrong because I think it’s great attributes in a man...but I can’t get my head around it.

I feel like my IQ just took a beating after reading that. (Not from kind, gentle Tommy though)

I was going to have my opinion but what's the point

Well why not...it’s a debate that’s the point?

Like when ovie picked up the wheelbarrel and did the obsticle course. Normally that kind of intensity is in the dna of atheletes. Tommy has not shown that in any of the challenges

Yes..my son used to box.

He doesn’t show boxer tendencies as you described?

I don’t think you have to be a certain nature though. After all, Tommy is only amateur having only fought 3 fights or something. There’s some boxers who have children and proper families, so should aggression really matter?

No he hasn’t...I’m not at all saying boxers are aggressive people although it might have come across that way...But to be in a sport where you actually knock people out in order to win doesn’t fit with the over the top lovey dovey character of Tommy.

I’m not saying they aren’t capable of having children and proper families fgs...my son is very loving with great morals.... I’m not saying you have to be a bad person to be in that sport...it’s a sport at the end of the day and I love any sort of sports person. I’m just saying that to be in that sort of sporting arena you have to have something about you character wise and apart from his build he doesn’t seem to reflect that character by his demeanour.

I must say the thought crossed my mind rusti, from what I've seen he seems near perfect, is that even possible.

Well I was watching lion King last week and tyson fury and his kids were sat near us. So boxers do have time to do soft things and have family time

No you don't have to be an aggressive person to be a good boxer :/. It's the same as saying you have to be a reckless person in order to be good at demolishing buildings

Tommy is simply a lovely, caring guy who just so happens to have a boxing inspiration, likely inspired by his older brother. It doesn't mean he has to have this furious, angry personality. As long as he's good at his profession, there's no harm in being nice and earnest outside of it.

I know what you're saying rustic... Boxers have to use aggression, but their aggression is are controlled because they have discipline.

I agree Livia...they have to be disciplined otherwise they would be banned from the sport. Im just saying he seems such a big softie that it doesn't go hand in hand with his choice of sport...

Fair enough...I just think he needs to man up a bit because Mollie Mae seems to be walking right over him.

Not really...

Im just saying you need certain attributes to do that sport and character-wise Tommy seems a right pushover which isn't fitting in that environment.

Should a boxer be thuggish then?

I don't get where this thread was aimed at all.

Tommy is soft but he’s probably different in the boxing arena but that doesn’t mean he has to be tough all the time. Has anyone even seen him boxed?

I think Tommy and Mollie have had an easy ride...they weren't really tested at all so its made it very easy for them to just play the love birds. I don't think we have really seen them in their full light...although Mollie had revealed a lot more.

I think Amber and Greg are going to be surprise winners and Mollie will be gutted.

….it would be nice to see a bit of attitude, a bit of something. He just comes across too perfect and if Im honest a bit of a soppy doormat.

Mmm...I'm not sure I agree. Tommy could be a ruthless boxer and not display the attributes. Anthony Joshua seems very chilled when he's nit in the zone. You rarely see pro boxers on holiday but they may switch off the aggression in an environment that is not usual to them. Like ricky hatton used to let himself go between bouts, Tommy may have just switched off from it all. Obviously I don't know but just my thoughts on it
