If the announcement next week isn’t Sinnoh remakes is2g

I'd be shocked if it was Sinnoh given that they'll still be supporting Sword and Shield with DLC until November which would typically be when a new mainline game would launch.

It'll be a spinoff game, I think. Possibly Pokken 2 or maybe the Let's Go, Johto rumours will come to fruition. I don't think we'll see a Sinnoh announcement until this time next year.

I think it’ll be let’s go Johto bc of all the Johto stuffed Pokémon that were behind him on the shelf

Tom4784

The Isle of Armor is huge, way bigger than the Wild Area with more variety in landscapes and such. I've not done a whole lot of the story yet but I've heard it's meant to be quite short but there's some optional side stuff that will keep you busy for a while on top of the story.

I think it’ll be let’s go Johto bc of all the Johto stuffed Pokémon that were behind him on the shelf

I didn't notice but you could be right. I wonder if the Johto games will feature Eevee and Pikachu again or two pokemon from Johto? Pikachu and Eevee are the mascots so I doubt it but it'd be interesting if they went for two new pokemon to lead the games. Marill would probably be one of them but I can't really think of another. Probably an obvious one I'm forgetting.

They should have done a DLC with it to go to Jhoto rather than the inevitable let’s go Maril & Togepi or whatever it’s gonna be

Yeah, the problem with Togepi is that it's a baby pokemon. I just don't see it unless it's Let's Go, Togetic which I don't think is likely.

Chances are it'll just be Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee 2. I think.

Saph
18-06-2020, 01:07 PM
if they can give us some good graphics and more interesting stuff in the story then ill be here for it. Lets go Pikachu/Eevee was a bit of a bore :skull: the graphics were so minimal compared to sword/shield. I think it was gamefreaks way of getting fans to buy a switch before gen 8 started

Tom4784
18-06-2020, 03:04 PM
I liked Let's Go although the capture mechanics became a ball ache near the end.

If Let's Go, Johto is a thing, I imagine it'll be a fairly traditional remake of Crystal like how Let's Go was a remake of Yellow. I do hope they mix it up more than they did with the first one though.

I preferred Let’s Go to SW/SH, the latter had no story and was far too easy, not saying LG was hard but at least there was a bit of a challenge in places

I'd say there's more story in Sw/Sh tbh, it just mostly happens when you get to the last city since the rest of the game prior to that is you Sonia and Leon taking care of things while you do your gym challenge. It had a better story than LG though, I thought. The old game's barely had a story so I'd take a badly paced one over something non-existent. I do think LG was easier as well although neither games were difficult. Honestly, the last time Pokemon was a challenge was Cynthia in the Diamond/Pearl games.

They were fun but they were limited. You could only catch the first 150 pokemon and they didn't have access to their evolutions from the later games although Alolan forms and mega evolution does make an appearance. There's also no breeding and such so if you like raising pokemon from eggs then you'll have no luck in those games.

It's kind of a weird mix of old and new since, in a lot of ways it's a faithful remake of Yellow but there's also innovations such as no random battles introduced in this game that carried over to Sword and Shield.

I enjoyed it for what it was but don't expect those games to be as robust as the main pokemon games are.

I loved G/S/C so I wouldn't mind this at all.

If it's true though, I hope they aren't as limited as the first Let's Go games were. I'll enjoy them either way but it'll be nice to have some pokemon beyond Gen 1 and 2 appear in the game.

It really annoys me that mons from first gen get pre-evos in later gens :skull: like how you gonna catch Mr mime and Chansey in Kanto but not Happiny or Mime Jr :skull:

Yeah, it was really dumb that you couldn't evolve the likes of Magmar, Electabuzz, Phydon or Scyther either (and more). It's one thing I hope they change if this rumour is true. If they're gonna keep it strictly to the first two gens of pokemon, they need to include all the evos and other forms that came later.

I’m more inclined to play this than the first gen ones but I’d rather they announced a Sinnoh remake.

There's been a lot of datamining of Crown Tundra stuff in the Isle's code and apparently the full list of pokemon present is out in the wild

https://twitter.com/abcboy101/status/1274355975760351234?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5 Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1274355975760351234&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgamefaqs.gamespot.com%2Fboar ds%2F259372-pokemon-sword%2F78787799

It's mostly dragons, fossils, the legendaries present in trailers, along with the Zubat, Electabuzz and Magmar lines along with Absol and Jynx (which gives the rumoured Galarian form creedence).

Interestingly enough, there's basically no Gen 2 or 4 pokemon (outside of the new evos for old pokemon) present in the the Tundra which certainly gives a lot of weight to the Let's Go Johto and D/P remakes speculation. My guess is that Let's Go will be announced on Wednesday to be released late November this year with the Crown Tundra releasing early November. They could brand it as a month of Pokemon and have new events in Sw/Sh to celebrate both launches.

I'd be shocked if D/P isn't announced next year.

The Galarian Slowpoke line. It seems like the Isle is basically based around expanding the pokedex and adding features to alleviate grinding while the Crown Tundra will add Calyrex, two new Regis, the Galarian forms of the legendary birds and possibly Galarian Jinx as well as bringing back a bunch of old legendaries and such. I'm pretty sure that the Tundra will be the story focused DLC of the two. According to what I've heard, the actual Tundra is meant to be pretty damn big.

A 'map' of the Crown Tundra's been datamined. It doesn't show the actual lay of the land but you can see how many zones and quick travel points there are and there are a LOT. Crown Tundra is going to be big which is odd given that, judging from the pokedex leak, that there's not going to be a huge number of returning non-legendary pokemon.

I've been hearing rumours that they might be moving the release date forward to September but there's nothing substantial behind it. It could make sense with the potential for Let's Go 2 being announced tomorrow but who knows?

I forgot they were even announcing something :skull: surely Pokemon snap wouldve been a better separate announcement?

I've noticed gamefreak dont like giving much attention to games that aren't made by them (because they're usually better i.e. snap, colosseum, XD, ranger etc)

It's become the most disliked Nintendo video of all time, apparently :skull:

A lot of the speculation is that Tencent pushed for their own direct and Nintendo caved. The whole situation is grim, people who think that EA is the spawn of Satan have never heard of Tencent or it's business practices. Disgusting company.

It's disappointing that it's not a different typing to Slowbro, tbh. It looks more like a ghost or dark type than poison.

I was expecting them to announce Galarian Jynx since, the last I heard, she was datamined in Home but I suppose they're saving her as a surprise.

It's interesting, seems to be a lot more story than Isle of Armour, there's not as many new pokemon roaming about since it's all mostly legendaries but the Dynamax Adventures are interesting and there's an item that allows you to switch a pokemon's ability to it's hidden ability so you don't have to faff about with breeding as much if you do a lot of raids.

It’s ok the gameplay is fine. Has a bit of the same issue I had with isle of Armor with the open worlds being hideous for game content designed in 2020 :skull: I think a lot of it is geared towards people into competitive pokemon which i can’t say I’m all too bothered with as of late but it’s the most competitive friendly the game has ever been!

Tom4784

Looking for the legendaries is quite fun, I spent about 40 mins trying a bunch of different stuff to open up Registeel's shrine before I figured it out.
