If you watch the earlier series on Drama she was nowhere near that bad.

They wrote her into a villain because she told them she would quit if they had Pauline get remarried

Pauline's downfall doesn't bother me as such knowing Wendy Richards died a few years after anyway.

And I don't really think Pauline's death had as much as an impact as intended. It hasn't changed the force of the show.

No. Everyone knew how badly written she was back then. It's pretty much the reason Wendy Richard quit.

EE get major exits wrong about 80% of the time. Her death turned into a whodunnit and she was killed by a frying pan. :skull:
