For some reason it's actually SMALLER than the current set. Additions to the set include a new block of flats near the Queen Vic

It's smaller and they're removing the street of houses where the train station is. :/

Bugs me when they rebuild sets and they don't correct some of the errors from the old set, they replicate the error.

Yeah, Corrie's new set should have gotten rid of the dumb bridge behind the Rovers, but they left it in (and even CG'd a tram there lol). Though Corrie's new set massively expanded the room they had to work with.

Apparently the area where the current set is, will be demolished and in its place high street sets and other stuff will be constructed there

They'll likely age up the houses and stuff as time goes on

Where's the park, community centre, club etc? It looks tiny.

The swings and community centre are where the Arches are on top left, the club is in the street beyond the bridge along with the chippy and salon etc.

The other park has always been a separate set that's meant to be further away "in universe".

I’m just glad they finally have back gardens, that always bugged me

Marsh.
10-05-2020, 01:44 AM
The garden is literally big enough for a bin so it won't make much difference onscreen.

Because the facade's were dangerous and only built to last six months but have been standing for 35 years. :skull:

There was some pics in a newspaper showing the absolute state of it, it was falling down.

They did do some strengthening a few years back, but it musnt have been enough

Scarlett.

It's kinda odd how EastEnders doesn't build full sized houses like the other soaps, some of them have no back side to them despite appearing regularly in the show

Looks like they've changed it now and built them with real brick too this time.

Oh yeah, I just noticed on some of them they're fully built this time, unlike here

Looks like they're also including a bit more inside the actual buildings? I know when they do shots involving front doors etc it's always tricky to make sure the houses look real.

Also at least now the Slaters house actually looks a bit bigger and more realistic to the amount of rooms they've got in there.

Them not using the opportunity to make it the size more in line to a real street.

The road is still gonna look like a toy town when you put a car on it. :joker:

They should've made the garage bit just a part of the house/extra room.

That weird big grey electrical box is in an odd spot

Marsh.
29-05-2020, 03:09 PM
I assumed that was temporary? :skull:

Scarlett.

Hmm, I guess it could be for the workmen, but seems a weird place to have it, since they'd have to move it to pave the road ect.

This set is such a waste of money the show will be axed within 10/15 years
