What’s the point of anyone running these games if nobody is going to play it fairly? It’s a bit of a fun on an otherwise quiet big brother forum, is winning really that important? Is this the first round it’s been done or has it been done on other rounds and that’s why certain teams have been doing so well?

It just takes the piss out of me, wastes my time which is precious af atm considering I’m doing 12 hour days at work (this isn’t a poor me poor me story - I just want to emphasise how much effort I put into this so that everyone can have a bit of fun) and yeah, I’m open to suggestions from everyone else but I’m not really sure where we go now.

...I really don’t know what to say, so I’m going to say very, very little and hold quite a bit of it to myself...

...Slim wasn’t axed or removed or whatever, he made a dignified choice to leave the team and the quiz and he worked very hard...in the last round...we stated what we felt needed to be stated in the privacy of the tearoom and accepted the 10 point deduction as a deterrent.../...regardless of whether we felt that deduction fair or not...so that has no bearing on anything in this round, the two things are not connected at all even though I realise that Slim did speak of both things...but the deterrent was accepted, as I say...so a line was drawn with that and moved on...

...anyways, I’m not sure that it would be about winning as such because it would be hollow and for me personally, I’m not sure that I wanted to win anyway, in fact I didn’t want to...because of the previous round and that our win could and would probably be doubted if it came to be, I would still though, always try my best..when we see ‘game drama’ which we do quite often on the forum...there is always words/phrases like ‘just a game’...and that’s literally true, because it is a game...but it’s also not just a game either because as you’ve said, Smithy...that wouldn’t envelope the hours/work etc in preparing and hosting...and an equal measure of hours/work applied by the teams/everyone taking part...and it’s completely displayed in our tearoom, how hard we’ve all worked and our hours of devotion because that’s the team we are and any quiz host would confirm that...for me it’s not about winning, it’s about teamwork and team spirit...so many reasons that I hoped for this quiz to take place../...hence the thread I made a while ago ...and none of those reasons were ‘winning’ ...(...although we all like the idea of that as well...)...for me personally, other than sleep time and eat time and a few other essential times, I’ve pretty much been a constant log in and doing the quiz...so I’m a bit emotionally exhausted and broken by this in my spirit../how many point deductions for working so endlessly...so I’m just choosing to go and not continue...enough...

...I’ve posted in the tearoom and it’ll be up to my team members if they will continue...

So I’ll give you till 10pm tomorrow to finish the geography round and then we’ll move to the final round.

Can Social Quiztancing just let me know what’s happening with their team? They can continue (sans Slim) if they so wish too, or as Niamh (?) I think suggested you can play without having a score, just for the fun of the game

...I’m still pretty annoyed/hurt/upset/whatever at some things related to everything and many things...but I’ll also continue taking part in it ‘for fun’....Obviously mainly because of the others on my team and it being what they would like to do, plus I did request that this could be hosted again and I’m grateful to you Smithy for agreeing to it...


...there are a few things though and I just have to say them because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to continue ...and they are only a few because so much, I’m not going to say...but if others on my team also want our scores/placing etc as well as carrying on then, these few things...

...with the 10 point deduction for the 2 teams...?...I’m asking if these could be given a reconsideration...(...and not deducted for either teams ...)...because of the reasons that Slim gave in the tearoom...in the very first post of our rooms, it was always pointed out quite openly that some images could be reversed etc...and it was more or less dismissed as any reverse image ones wouldn’t be the correct answer anyway...(...which apparently that answer wasn’t correct...so..)...Nothing else was said beyond that so deducting points as a ‘deterrent’ for the future just doesn’t feel any fairness at all...

Agree with this....what Slim did was wrong we all know that but I was shocked really at the way it was revealed, it left all of our team blind sided, shocked and sad. Cheating revealed and condemned by cheating - but it is what it is.

Anyway, until all this happened I was really enjoying the quiz, its only the second time I've played and appreciate the work that obviously goes into it as I wouldn't even know where to start.

...actually, I’m going to say one more thing...well, a request, really...that the deduction of 10 points for both teams to not happen because it was informed in the very first post in our tearoom and the public response was more or less that it didn’t really matter because nothing that could be reversed was correct anyway...(..which as I said, it wasn’t...)...so we goth that one wrong as was stated it would be and that 1 answer can be deducted would be the fair way...

...and also, because it’s left it that, that thing can be found...(...if not already noted etc...)...as it was before, so a thought that that whole geography round be scrapped and it’s all just 4 rounds with it being fair for all still playing...

Right I’m sorry guys but I can’t be ****ing arsed with this; I’ve got people PM’ing moaning that Shauns team haven’t been deducted points, I’ve got ammi writing dissertation after dissertation in the thread and I still don’t really know what the **** she wants.

I’ve got **** loads of person **** to deal with; the posts in here don’t even scrape the surface of what I’ve been through, had to deal with or what I’m STILL dealing with.

This was meant to be a bit of fun, it’s not that ****ing serious but for some reason people on this site don’t seem to be able to just let things go and have to bitch, whinge and moan at every little thing.

Fair enough tbh! I think this whole thing has been unfortunate and badly timed for Smithy.

I understand a lot of discussion about me is being done behind my back and that's odd - I even said in the thread that I understand if I were to be penalised (even though my search didn't actually find any results, and I didn't note down any of the answers that were revealed in that Liverpool-forum thread). I do think, though, that it is a little bit laughable that so little condemnation was done by your team - Annie, Ammi, Niamh - to the two instances of cheating in your midst but you are basically focusing on retribution towards me.

I consider all 3 of you good members and even friends on here, but the fact that you can't even reach out to me and message me (or reply to my messages) is a little disheartening. Perhaps I am unapproachable. Perhaps I am a big evil shitbag with no redeemable qualities. But I think in the whole gradual process of cheating being exposed in this thread, the idea of "...this is incredibly frustrating for the game-maker" has very much been an after-thought, placed below "did we have fun?" and "did we try?" in your priorities.

I thought that Slim owning up to what happened (and my points deduction) would be a good line to draw under the whole thing but I guess that wasn't possible.

I was actually really annoyed with Slim Shaun. The reversing images thing though I thought was a bit unfair because one of our team had pointed it out to Smithy in Round 1 that some were reversible and Smithy just said that the answers that came up were wrong anyway.
