Gutting.

[Nicola Adams and Katya Jones are forced to PULL OUT
of Strictly Come Dancing 2020 after pro dancer
tests positive for COVID-19
Katya, 31, tested positive for coronavirus,
meaning she was instantly disqualified from the BBC dancing show
Boxer Nicola, 38, will now need
to self-isolate for two weeks in keeping with government guidelines
The Olympian said in a statement
that she is 'absolutely devastated' to
have to leave the competition and thanked
Katya for 'being the best dance partner'
The pair made history competing on
the show as the first ever same-sex couple]

Nicky, the evidence: https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-54919497
The article from the BBC News website says that Katya is asymptomatic.
On DWTS, Jeannie Mai withdrew on what was supposed to be double elimination day, so production switched it to a single elimination.

Isnt she the one who broke the rules by snogging her dance partner in public and he had a girlfriend?

She was on It Takes Two yesterday, I hope they social distanced
Its a shame and could happen to anyone sadly. I was looking forward to their dance this week to see them do ballroom. Poor Nicola

i was also thinking that, but maybe Katya got the virus yesterday before heading off to training or something, or after training while going to supermarket
a 'bubble' works when there is effort from both sides the production (BBC) and the couples (both the people in that couple)
lets dance germany their series this year was amid the peak of the first wave, zero cases over there (of main cast, crew, just one backstage crew member but he was moved into home quarantaine safely)

i'd say no more unnecessary visits, no more supermarket visits
let the groceries be delivered on your doorstep at the isolation apartment
let this one be a wake up call for remainder of the series to be extra extra careful now
because katya was clearly not sticking fully to the rules then

They could do online shopping.
That would be better?

tbf Nicky has a point, and you don't get covid from going to the shops if you distance yourself  I thought they were in a bubble with their partner as well

Surely the production team would organise shopping, its been done in Universities for self isolating students so not a stretch to think it would be happening on the show?

Omg that car crash story :worry:
...this is so sad and disappointing for Nicola, she just seemed so filled with joy at being there and dancing, her smile could light up a city and beyond......I hope that she and everyone else is okay and that Katya recovers well ...
Omg that car crash story :worry:
....wow, so tragic...winning 45 Million on the lottery is like a ‘movie script’ thing anyway...but then the car crash and his gran losing her life on Christmas Day and him being accused of causing her death because of how he drove, presumably......

Very sad, it’s not his Gran I don’t think, it was a couple making their way home Christmas Day

I actually think Nicola and Katya were likely the bottom of the viewers votes Saturday gone.
So I don't think they were going to get too far in this series.
I hope Katya soon recovers, it's always sad to be part of something like this, then to have to leave it, especially due to this.
Perhaps they could invite Nicola back for the next or a future series.
That would be a good gesture.

I wonder if they bothered to wear masks when they were out in the supermarket etc . But as we know it's so easy to catch it .
But this whole thing makes me sigh in frustration , because I kept thinking the couples on strictly were at risk with Covid  . So I'm not surprised sadly.

 Yeah I always think that will happen now with these TV shows. Especially if it's a group of people mingling together .

uh lol
why is Germany then doing better at these tv shows? oh wait people overall actually obey the rules a lot better
also i don't mind them having cancelled regular dschungelcamp (IAC) and coming with a replacement show which i am going to watch of course
now the BBC still have a good plan with their measures, bubbles, however their only mistake is going outside for VT's which they would've been better off if they toned that down too, with solely training vt's in couples their own training rooms
also Katya's positive covid test, hmmm AJ got tested positive too before IAC, but few days later came back negative, what if Katya turns out to test negative now, i mean false positive covid tests can happen
