This coming Saturday, World wide protests are happening.
Should be fun.
Check out the Dutch Police, they've gone full Nazi.
Pushing a woman in front of a moving van, setting their attack dogs on citizens and beating the citizens with clubs.

They've pushed this bill because they know what's coming this weekend.
It's just more protection for the elite class and more oppression for the citizens.
Wait until they announce that lockdown will be continuing for more than they first thought.

people just need to obey lockdown rules, are they really that dumb to prefer freedom over other people's health

Freedom, if preserved will last for every generation to come, my health doesn't matter as much as that because I'll die eventually anyway.
If I have to suffer a bit of rough flu for a few days to save freedom, then I'll take the flu option everytime.

In the rarest of occurrences - I actually totally agree with Alf on this basic principle.
Permanently trading away our freedoms would be an unparalleled disaster and absolutely not even CLOSE to worth it... we should never take them for granted, nor underestimate their importance. And I do think we're on the verge of pushing at the limits of that.
Obviously I don't believe in the "it's all to deliberately reign in our freedoms" conspiracy nonsense, but we should be aware that it might happen as a side effect. We can't have repeated lockdowns forever and while I'm in full support of it being done so far, and continuing until we know if vaccines allow it to end... I don't think it's feasible to have continuing lockdowns of the kind we've had so far if the vaccines haven't done the job. There is a balance at some point of "being alive" and "actually living" to consider.

As thousands protest outside Westminster again today.
Lots of them shouting Tory scum and kill the bill.
I can sympathise with them on on this. The Bill went downhill after Reg Hollis left

They should be shouting at the judges...if they think the police ain't as disgusted as the protestors at the sentences handed down then they know sod all about the police.

That is very true, how often with the CPS not bring a charge to the disgust of the police
The rape sentence definately needs looking at!

They should just call it the bootlicker bill, since anyone who is happy with this is more concerned with cheering on their tory overlords than defending their own rights.

It's the gammon that will be battoned first...I guarantee you that.
