i can think of Stromae somehow (especially with Flanders having had a big name act this year, and two french songs having done well, and he isn't a relevant name or unrealistic anymore so maybe he might be interested just to release some music again)

The Reference Group is made up of elected Heads of Delegations, executive producers from previous Host Broadcasters and the ESC Executive Supervisor from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It’s their job to steer the Contest from Host to Host.

The triumphant Italian Head of Delegation, Simona Martorelli, shared her excitement about Italy’s chance to host the world’s biggest music event:

How is the Athens 2006 HD Cut different from the Contest that was broadcast?

As the high definition footage was never intended to be broadcast, there are a number of differences that viewers will notice

Not all of the cameras used in the Athens experiment were able to film in high definition (like those attached to some telescopic cranes) and so in this cut the difference in picture quality becomes apparent very soon on

The new HD technology is used from the opening seconds of the film: sweeping shots of the audience that are so crystal clear it’s possible to pick out individuals from the event that took place over 15 years ago

Something else fans will notice is that this is not a 'broadcast’ version of the show complete with postcards, on-screen graphics and all the bells and whistles that were added on top of the standard definition broadcast version at the time

However, in this version fans will be able to view the never-seen-before transitions between acts – some captured in full HD. The clear-up required after Daz Sampson’s Teenage Life to make way for Anna Vissi’s Everything is a spectacle in itself

details on san marino's nf

- Will commence in December, stretch over a few months of 2022 as well.
- Currently, it seems only people from Italy and San Marino will be able to participate. (could still change, official regulations and information has yet to come out).
- Everyone 14 years or older can participate (will be a fun thing if the winner is not 16 years old in May).
- To participate, a singer has to submit a cover / original song (doesn't really matter which) of their choice, and a jury will determine whether they're suitable to enter the festival. (the so-called "First Phase").
- The "Second Phase" consists of a two-day mandatory Academy (a series of training sessions on specific subjects of music, entertainment, and the best ability to study and know music such as writing, harmony, arrangement, and interpretation) and Casting (an interview where a music industry professional will evaluate a competitor's original song). It's basically an exam, as it'll be held in a private rooms. These exams determine whether they will continue to the "Third Phase" / Semi-Finals.

at its own professional discretion, taking into account the following criteria: 2.1.1.

The structure of the song – originality, arrangement, message, compliance with modern market trends;

2.1.3. The performer's vocal abilities and personality;
2.1.4. Past achievements in the sector or potential for future achievements and real market existence.

EMA 2022 is going to feature 20 songs and will have two semifinals, with 12 songs (6 from each semifinal: 3 chosen by televoting, 3 by jury) making it to the final
4 of those songs will come from EMA Freš, which will once again start with daily online duels
EMA Freš will feature 24 (?) songs (4 duels per week for three weeks, plus a second chance round): 14 will make it to the two-part EMA Freš final, with 2 songs qualifying from each part
EMA Freš artists must be younger than 30 and can't have commercially released more than 3 songs
the voting in the EMA 2022 final will be similar to 2017-18: 5 juries (50 % of the vote) + televoting (50 % of the vote)
the juries are: (1) singers (2) songwriters and producers (3) radio jury (4) TV jury (5) OGAE Slovenia members
the deadline for sending songs is 22nd November

Croatia: entry period opens for Dora2022, 14 acts to compete in february grand final

There are a few changes for the 2022 edition of DORA. The Eurovision maximum of six performers are now allowed in each performance. For DORA 2021, pandemic precautions meant that the maximum was reduced to no more five performers.

The winner isn’t able to make any major revamps of their entry. The version of the song that wins DORA will be the version that goes to Eurovision. Only minor changes will be allowed, and then only with permission of the broadcaster.

Entrants must be Croatian citizens. Songs can either in Croatian or another “European language”

The competition entries will be assessed by an expert jury who will then pick the 14 grand finalists, as well as four reserves. The rules note that the jury’s criteria will be “artistic value with an emphasis on quality music and lyrics and the whole work”.

Monegasque media reports that the new public broadcaster of Monaco is set to launch in September 2022.

The Monaco Tribune reports that the new Monegasque public broadcaster will be launching in September of 2022. Monte-Carlo Riviera is set to be entirely owned by the Monegasque government, filling the place of Télé Monte-Carlo which is now 100% owned by French broadcaster TF1.

The new broadcaster is expected to produce news, documentaries, talk shows and content close to the heart of Prince Albert of Monaco. The launch of the channel has been linked to plans for Monaco to return to Eurovision after over 15 years away from the contest.

L’Observateur de Monaco reported that the state budget for Monaco in 2022 includes an allocation of 100,000 Euros to “initiate the application of the Principality to the Eurovision 2023 competition”.

Should Monaco wish to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest using the new channel it would need to gain membership of the European Broadcasting Union. The latest it could be accepted into the EBU to compete in Eurovision 2023 would be December 2022.

Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2022 entries will be revealed January 29

RÚV has announced the semi-final dates for Söngvakeppnin, as well as when the songs will be revealed.

The semi-finals for Söngvakeppnin 2022 will be held on February 19 and 26, with the final as previously announced on March 5. The ten competing entries will be revealed by the Icelandic broadcast in a TV show on January 29.

The ten entries are formed of five songs from the public submissions process which saw 158 entries. A further five entries were selected from songwriters that were specifically contacted by RÚV to take part in the Icelandic selection.

A new location will be the venue for Söngvakeppnin in 2022. Instead of being held at the Háskólabíó and Laugardalshöll, the contest will be held at the RVK Studios. Tickets will go on sale for each of the shows at the end of January.

I heard this one this morning, I really like it, favourite of our songs so far. I love The Corona's as well and Danny is a writer on this one, love Patrick's voice too, I love that he sings with his own accent. I hope this one wins for us

NF Season so far

Portugal's is once again SUPERB quality music don't know which one is going to win but i myself have a weak for the folk band Kumpania Algazarra, reminds me of my province's carnaval music scene, bit of a portuguese rowwen heze :lovedup: and would be nice for a change to have a quality fun act from them and back to portuguese language after last years change of going to english and doing well
