Best news I’ve heard in months (if this is true). The door’ll be firmly shut on Westbrook on her shoddy performances this way and Medcalf’s ten times the actor she ever was.

I still get chills when I watch the scene/s of her unearthing Den from the cellar in gin-wasted Macbeth style. They didn’t need to sh*t over those epic moments four years later by reverting her back to her trashy ’90s type (and chavvier than she ever was in the first place). It’s good that they’ve reversed that ridiculous and unnecessary move.

Whether she was available or unavailable she shouldn’t have been called back after the door was shut on her in 2000. Medcalf made Sam her own and it was ridiculous that we were supposed to essentially ‘conventionally’ forget her four-year interlude and it jarred big-time. They were like two different characters running in unison what just happened be namesakes.

I hope Westbrook sticks to Jeremy Kyle-esque shows. All the best to her in the future but her Sam. weren’t it.

Horrific show. It’s unrecognisable nowadays. Wasn’t the ‘explosive’ New Years Eve storyline supposed to be a bomb in a nightclub, and that never went off, cos it turned into some boring storyline about de-radicalisation. And then the woke producer called everyone on Twitter ‘racist, homophobes’ for wanting an explosive to go off. It would have been the most exciting thing to happen in eastenders since Denise passed her GCSEs

I don't watch EastEnders, haven't for over 11 years .

But I always use to think Kim Medcalf made the role of Sam her own ,I always preferred her to Danielle Westbrook. And I found it ashame when they ditched her ,as I've never seen her in anything else other than EastEnders.

Especially when she went crazy and dug Dirty Den's body up in the Vic cellar :joker: Classic And so dark . Her acting always stood out.

So i'm glad she's getting the chance to play Sam again .
