Yes LBC Live said
he will have a rough ride as King.
He will stick to doing his constitutional duties like he has been doing for years already helping out the late queen.

I've always liked Charles but I fear his reign might mean the Royal Family sinking into possible insignificance when coupled with the Terrible Threesome, Harry, Meghan and Prince Andrew...

I actually think he will be less controversial than some may expect.
I look back and I was 5 when I heard of Princess Diana's tragic death.
I think he got rightful criticism for the mess of that marriage.
Not to dwell on that however.
King Charles 111 has had decades of training as to what is expected as Monarch when in the position of Monarch.
His teacher, Her Majesty was the perfect one to learn all from.
He will too I think be strengthened with his wife the Queen Consort Camilla at his side.
She will likely be his rock too.
He has looked far happier in life now with his wife.
I think this could be a good reign actually which will be paving the way too for Prince William and eventually Prince George.
He's had a long journey to his birthright as Monarch.
I personally don't think he will do anything to weaken all his Mother achieved as Monarch.

I think over time her title of Queen might irk some people. Just because of what happened with Diana and Charles only really wanting Camilla.
people don't like change, it's part of our DNA. Churchill thought that Elizabeth was going to be a disaster and look how that turned out

I agree totally some will never accept Camilla.
However, very recently, as a direct wish of her own decree, Queen Elizabeth did much to detoxify that.
When she decreed it was HER wish that Camilla was afforded the title Queen Consort.
That possible black cloud of her title was removed by the Queen herself.
Enabling King Charles to then not have to deal with that issue.
It could have been a really contentious issue.
However Her Majesty decreed the title so it's now Camilla's title direct from Queen Elizabeth's orders.
Therefore HAS to be carried out.
I do agree with you Gusto, it will be a big negative still to some of those who detest what came about re Princess Diana however.

After watching Charles greeting the crowds outside Buckingham palace, then him and our darling Queens Consort the 1st Camilla walking through the gates of Buckingham palace. Their 2 steps forward, one step back kind of motion thereafter, does make me wonder the change in the alcohol purchasing increase on our tax paying pounds for buckingham palace.

As i understand it, there is a hierarchy for allocating titles for those outside the direct line of succession. When the queen died, the top position moved down a notch automatically allocating Harry's kids a title ... it wasnt a proactive decision to give them titles

[The Royal Mint won't say how or when
it will start issuing coins with King Charles III's head
on them, but it's likely that the Queen's coins will
remain in circulation for many years,
and that the process to replace them will be a gradual one.]
Stamps and postboxes
[Since 1967, all stamps issued by the Royal Mail

the side profile of Queen Elizabeth II.
Royal Mail will now stop producing
Queen Elizabeth II stamps - although they can still be
used on letters and parcels - and will begin
the process to create new ones.]

I have said many times the queen would die on the throne and Charles would be king
The royal family has been going for over a thousand years
It was Charles birthright to be king.
William will be king when his father dies and hopefully that will a long time coming
It will give William time to be a father to his young children
Elizabeth became queen at 27 after her father died in his fifties one of the reasons her rein was so long.

William is next in line…he automatically gets the title. Why should he give Harry and Meghan a first mention…they have left their roles and knowing what they have done they were lucky to get a mention at all.
I think it was a clever move to stop them attacking the Institution…because if they do after what he said in his speech will just backfire on them.
It’s not going to be easy…Charles has big boots to fill and much to prove and he doesn’t need his son and his wife constantly trying to destroy their reputation.

The title isn’t automatic, it is the gift of the new monarch to the heir at his discretion.

Everyone is vey solemn and respectful at this time, but the Harry, Meghan, Andrew thing just won't go away after the death of the Queen.
The 'sh** hit the fan' will resurface, because both Harry and Meghan have a commitment to give something back to the companies who've handed out millions to them to dish the dirt/hang dirty washing out in public.
I hope Charles will put his foot down and not stand for this cr**.

Fascinating.
I thank Her Majesty the late Queen for all her dedicated service.
I now welcome the new Monarch His Majesty King Charles 111.
Who for this role of Monarch has been trained for decades by his Mother Queen Elizabeth 11.
I think he will be a really good King, I think many are going to be likely disappointed who think, and maybe hope he will not be.
He is the long reign and decades link to his Mother the late Queen.
Plus he is now preparing HIS son, the new Prince of Wales for the Monarchy too.
Those 2 things will, I think and hope hold the affection of the Nation towards him

I am always amazed how together the Royals are after the death of someone close to them.
Charles on his walkabout this afternoon, I couldn't do that. I'd be a shuffling crying wreck. It's the old British stiff upper lip - famed by Prince Philip.
I think they knew her time was coming and the Royals are trained to devoid themselves of emotion...lokk how William and Harry dealt with the public after their beloved mother died...

Prince Andrew comforted his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie and waved to crowds in an
emotional display at Balmoral this afternoon.
The Duke of York, who is now eighth in line to the throne, led the senior royals as they
attended a private ceremony for the Queen.
He put his arm round his younger daughter as the family looked at the sea of flowers
left outside Scottish residence, where Her Majesty died on Thursday afternoon.
Said to have been the Queen's favourite child, Prince Andrew clasped his hands together
before waving at and thanking those who had gathered outside the castle.
The gesture was welcomed by the crowd who waved back before breaking into a
spontaneous round of applause.

That's the crux of I think. I actually don't think the rift ran as deep as the "insiders" have speculated to the media. I think william was rightly pissed off at some of the things Harry and Meghan have said and done but hopefully things will settle now and they can be brothers again without the constant speculation of their relationship. I am sure it is what the Queen, and the rest of the family ultimately want. :fc:

Anyone who values the Royal family would want the brothers to be reconciled and an end brought to the damage Harry and Meghan are trying to do to the Monarchy.
Juat last week in an interview Meghan made a thinly veiled threat that she had more to spill. The ball is in Meghan and Harry’s court as to whether a reconciliation and its continuation will be possible. Whether lost trust will ever be fully regained is another matter.

Din’t think anyone expects a permanent move back tbf
Bots thinks otherwise
But they won’t be back part time
There has been talk long before the queen died of Charles slim lining the royals
i do have a different view and time will tell which proves correct. I think it will be a gradual process, but it will happen nonetheless.

I think as much as we want the brothers to reconcile…I think it will take a long time. I think this was something instigated by Charles….I saw no glances or interaction between Kate and Meghan. William engaged as much as he had to and Harry and Meghan made very little effort. In consideration of the circumstances this was easy to misinterpret and on such occasions we have to remember that families come together whether they like each other or not and on those occasions it’s easy to cast those feelings to one side in respect of a mutually loved person.
I hope one day they will reconcile but a lot of trust and respect needs to be restored and apologies said….

I know King Charles 111 has been trained for this all his life really.
However watching him, with his interactions with the public.
The duties and ceremonies he's already performed.
Then thinking of him mixing these considerable duties with the loss of his Mother and also the preparation of her funeral.
He hasn't really any time to be grieving yet and because of these duties he cannot even.
I admire him greatly for all the way he is going through this awful time for him and his family too.
I doubt I could have myself.
Even had I had the training the King has had.
Full respect to him and I do believe with virtually no doubt, he is going to be a massive credit to his Mother, our late Queen and to the Monarchy too.

He's either been wrongly accused of horrible crimes, or his horrible crimes are coming home to roost ... The prospect of either would take a lot out of him!
i don't like Andrew at all but I wouldn't shout at him in the middle of a funeral  It's pretty obvious that the guy shouting was trying to make a name for himself

I think it was really moving and heartbreaking to see King Charles 111, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward doing a vigil round their Mother's coffin.
She loved all of them and all of them have lost a Mother and friend who'd never want them hurt, would do all she could to prevent them being hurt and wouldn't hurt them herself.
My heart and my thoughts go out to all 4 of them.

Yeah they're all her children , non of us will forget what Andrew has done & I'll personally never be a fan of his . But I don't see the point in people heckling him , especially at a time like this . This should be about The Queen & her memory .
