They know then there's a lot of Con MPs not supporting her plans to make that threat.
What a democracy where elected people by the people are threatened at all if they DARE vote against something they think and believe is wrong.
Of course Liz Gross did so when she voted FOR the NI increase to hold her higher salary and Ministerial position.
What a farce.
the threats only work when they are made from a position of strength. Truss knows that she has to placate the tory mp's or she will be out on her ass

Senior Tory Michael Gove has suggested he would not vote for Liz Truss's Budget when it comes to Parliament, saying "I don't believe it's right."
The former cabinet minister said the PM's decision to cut the 45p tax rate was "a display of the wrong values".
He also argued that using borrowed money to fund tax cuts was "not Conservative".
Ms Truss has said she stands by her tax-cutting package arguing it would boost growth.

[WORKING CLASS HERO
As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working-class hero is something to be
A working-class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so ****ing crazy you can't follow their rules
A working-class hero is something to be
A working-class hero is something to be
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working-class hero is something to be
A working-class hero is something to be
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still ****ing peasants as far as I can see
A working-class hero is something to be
A working-class hero is something to be
"There's room at the top" they're telling you still
But first, you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on The Hill
A working-class hero is something to be]

She was only firmly behind the higher rate tax cut in all her interviews recently and yesterday.
She simply cannot be trusted.
She really never could be and how she got to be PM and leader may come to be something that will haunt the Con party for a good while to come.
She's already even worse than Mrs May.
This shambles of a government has around 2 years to go but for the Nation, some level of competence is needed from this still useless in the main only reshuffled old faces.

The Chancellor really now has little credibility.
If he is seen not to think things through properly and to consult.
Then in a moment scrap a policy he and the PM stated as totally right.
That is unlikely to give the impression of competence plus also to leave the view of poor commitment too as to the market forces.
What an absolute shambles.

According to Truss she said only yesterday, it was the CHANCELLOR'S policy.
She said it WASN'T even discussed with other Cabinet MPs.
This was supposed to make the government look more competent electing this waste of political space Truss.

Your first line is a very worrying fact re Truss as PM.
I don't know where to start as to what's more worrying.
Truss not able to state facts.
Or the Chancellor in his mini budget acting on the whim of a assistant to him and then making firm policy on that.
Looks extremely shambolic, badly thought about and incompetent.

SkyNewsHD says
KAWSI is now going live at 4:15PM
Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has said he "gets how it looks" after it emerged he had attended a champagne reception with City of London financiers on the day of the mini-budget.
He told LBC this morning that "with hindsight it probably wasn't the best day to go" to the Tory party event, which he added had been organised "a few weeks" prior to his tax cuts announcement on 23 September.
Political opponents have called for an official inquiry, following reports in the Sunday Times that he attended a private champagne reception with hedge fund managers who were set to profit from a collapse in the value of the pound that accompanied his tax-cutting plans.
The paper reported the drinks were held at the Chelsea home of a financier, where Kwarteng was alleged to have been "egged on" to commit to his plan for £45bn of unfunded tax cuts.

Yes, I think you have hit on something there Cherie.
Honestly though she's hopeless.
Absolutely hopeless.
That should please me in my political position but at this time of crisis to have Truss in place is extremely worrying.
For me Penny Mordaunt would have been seen as far more competent with far less ministerial experience than Truss has had in the last decade.
However Sunak would have certainly been the better choice in my view too.
From even just his experience of the crisis of the pandemic.
To be fair I can't really fault much he did and set out to do as Chancellor during that crisis.

It shouldn't be acceptable to change leader and PM TWICE in a period of government following a previous general election.
Either Truss should seek an endorsement from the electorate or be left there until the next general election comes.
No way should another leader and PM be chosen at this time by only Con MPs and only Con party members.

People voted sadly for Johnson and his policies.
One change fair enough.
Another no way.
If they went for another leadership change,an election shouldn't be denied to the electorate.
It's a complete turnaround of who and what the electorate voted for in 2019.
Which can't be right or acceptable to be done TWICE.

There's no precedent either for any party OR government changing the PM twice while in government.
In opposition yes.
However no way should the electorate be denied TWICE to have their say to approve a new PM.
Personally I think any change of PM while in government should have to seek his or her own mandate from the people within a year of the change.
Under any government that is too.

If they were to change Truss for another as bots stated.

Indeed the whole country doesn't vote in the party leaders constituency.
You can't have it all ways though.
In saying people in the red wall seats voted for Johnson.
Also saying people in those seats voted against Corbyn.
Of course the leader influences across the Nation how they vote as to how well any leader of a party is liked.

Well her next challenge has to be the benefit likely increases.
Whatever the views of the fair number of hard-line Cons as to people who need and claim benefits.
I agree with Penny Mordaunt they should be increased at the inflation rate.
This was stated as would be the case by Johnson and Sunak.
You can't in fairness and decency tell people that IS what will happen.
Then this gross Truss changing it and not honouring it.
Certainly for this coming years increases.
That is wrong and amounts to a breaking of trust.
To the people told the increase would be at the inflation rate.
Over 4 in 10 claimants who claim Universal Credit are IN work.
Yet still need to claim the benefit.
As for what she will say today.
It will be about a possible fantasy growth coming as a hope.
It will be about delivering.
Delivering what???
I wouldn't feel confident thinking Truss could make a pot of tea.
Never mind do the full right thing for the 4 Nations of the present at any rate, United Kingdom.
She's absolutely hopeless.

there is an argument for controlling benefits when the economy is flying high and people have the opportunity to earn a good income. It is heartless in the extreme to cut peoples benefits when they are already struggling

All the tories have left is racism, so of course they're going full on.
They've destroyed their economic credentials. Brexit is a disaster, truss is a disaster, so all they have is culture wars about woke police, and deportations.
