Usually I'd ask my mother this, but she's on holiday so I'll post it here

I washed my white shirts and t-shirts, and somehow I got a navy blue t-shirt mixed up in there, and needless to say when the wash came out, all the whites are a faint color of dark blue.

The blue isn't that prominent, but its obvious that the white is no longer the white it was once.

So has anyone ever had a similar accident happen, and what did you do to fix it? I'm hoping I can just buy some sort of special washing powder (vanish?) to get the white back into it. Usually I wouldn't be that bothered, but it was all my Armani ones that were being washed, and they weren't cheap :bawling:

Thanks :spin2:

Dear me mr Mark   What number did you have the washing on?.. as sometimes, in my small experience, if it's not on to high even when merged with colours it does not matter.. My mum still does most of mine  she said "god, it's easier you are useless" So I'd love to help you.. but I'm just as bad.

Yeah, that happens to me. All my white t-shirts are a shade of blue. I just wash everything together, don't bother to separate.

I think you need something like this - http://www.dylon.co.uk/household/FabrCare/Colorun.htm

It was a 40 degrees wash.

Im sure Ive seen an advert on ITV where they dip clothes in a tub of _______ and when they lift it out its white again. Or am I imagining it :puzzled:

I can get you some replacements at the Barras in Glasgow at the weekend if you want?... 100% Authentic..

Try vanish first... depending on the heat etc it could work, but otherwise the fabric could actually now be dull blue.. which means vanish won't get rid of it. (Okay...I have no clue about whether 40c is a high heat wash or not, I'm not yet independent in feeding myself, nevermind washing my own clothes).

Think I'll pass on that one

I'm pretty fussy when it comes to clothes (and accessories too :bawling:)

Whoever said money can't buy happiness obviously doesn't know where to go shopping, right?

Just going to the shops now to get some Vanish, back soon :)

Also, get organic soap power, and a lemon cut in half.... Rub in the soap powder with the half a lemon.

I googled 'colour run remover' and got http://www.dylon.co.uk/household/FabrCare/Colorun.htm

It tells you on that site where they sell it. There's also an online ordering.

Why not go the whole hog and rub in cinnamon and witch hazel whilst performing an ancient dance ritual waving a wonky stick in the air? :joker:

She has a lemon-organic-aloe vera-wicca-natural-oak-wielding cult, and they're not afraid to use it.

Mark you can get these great things called colour catchers! they should help lift the blue, also you can get glo-white to pop in the whites wash that will make them look like new! another good old fashioned way is to soak them in water with a cup of milk in over night then wash them as normal (without the blue shirt) see how that helps
