And I'm making pie and peas.

I'm about to eat a couple of minced beef and onion pies with mushy peas with a pint of lager and a pink gin chaser (a real pink gin, none of your store bought rubbish)

I know how to live.

I tend to agree if you wear yourself out through the day you won’t be up all night

ridiculousIt depends what time I work, I work different hours all the time.

On Thursday I didn't get home until 2am so didn't get to bed until gone 5am. Next week I could be working in the morning and then the next day I could be working in the evening.

That's not always the case. I GRAFT HARD. But when the mind starts racing away with itself as you try to sleep theres no going back.

I used to take under the counter ambient during covid down in essex just before bed to help me with that. Now I'm up in Scotland I find a simple podcast(usually ricky Gervais karl pilkington and Stephen merchant ones) does the trick just as well. I'm away by 12 at the very latest and up again for work at 6.50. Like clockwork.

Well that’s not true.. In my younger days I had a spell as a landscape gardener and I can assure you that I worked like an absolute trojan for a very hard taskmaster … but still didn’t sleep well

Oh I did that as well zizu. The blokes name was Jeff. Lives on a deserted hebrides island with his family now looking after it for its rich owners.

We once built a massive water feature out of natural material, ie massive rocks(40 tonne, lifted and barrowed 50 metres a time from the front to the rear of a mansion belonging to Chay Blythe)

Hard hard work that game, very rewarding though when you see the finished article.

I left there to go down London actually. All rippled and penge...been a long 14 years...:joker:

Our worst / hardest jobs involved oily , railway sleepers .. heavy and slippery to move around . I used to hate it when we turned up to a job and there were 50 or more of the damn things on the road side as they all had to be carried through to the back garden … lousy start to the day !

Apologies to all for going off topic somewhat
