View Full Version : What's the daftest thing you've done while drunk?

I know what it feels like to be a borderline alcoholic (I was bordering on it a few years ago) but because I've got a more reserved outer equilibrium (as much as I can be a right hot mess internally) it's hard for me to really let myself loose so I don't have the wildest stories to tell on that front but there was a time when I poured a bottle of cider or something over one of my mate's (more like an acquaintance to be fair, but a cool guy) head at the club and he actually didn't speak to me after that for the longest time. Getting mouthy with someone at the other end of the till in a kebab shop, telling some random guy visiting where I was at that time from London about the time I stayed in Greenwich and generally just talking a whole load of nonsense at house parties otherwise is as far as it ever got but that doesn't mean I wasn't drinking a lot more than I should've been at various other times. It just didn't happen to be as embarrassing (especially since most of it was behind closed doors anyway). Nowadays I only drink to get tipsy/a little buzzed, not drunk.
Over to you people.

Once was totally blitzed and me and my friend Marie stole a for sale sign out of someone's garden and took it home. I climbed up to the balcony of an upstairs flat above where we lived and perched it there.

14 (that I remember) double vodka red bulls. The alcohol isn't the issue (this was Uni days, 14 doubles wasn't THAT unusual) it's that tanking 14 cans of Red Bull in under 2 hours is blatantly an absolutely massive caffeine overdose.
I was very, very ill for 3 or 4 days. At one point I thought I was dying. I projectile vomitted in the bathtub the likes of which has never been seen when I got back to halls. If I hadn't I might have legitimately died :umm2:.
Twas ye olde days of about 2005, there are plenty of scare stories around about caffeine OD these days but in those days it wasn't so widely known .
If we're talking just "silly drunk", a group of us once got out of the taxi home and went to the wrong house, and proceeded to thump on the doors, scream at the windows, and one guy tried to break in... wups.
I feel like I've mentioned that here recently already.

The late 90's/early 00's were awful for the Vodka/red bull craze. I worked in a night club for a little while in 1999 and when we were prepping the bar back then before the club opened, we'd literally stack glasses with shots of Vodka on the counter behind the bar right next to the Red bull fridge because that was 90% of the drinks orders back then

Yes in that thread about the 16 year old who was shot for knocking on someones door, you'd probably be dead if you'd done that in the States :skull:

Ahh that's right! All we got was a tired and bemused neighbour in his dressing gown calmly telling us we were at the wrong house.
It was in Yorkshire so even funnier if you imagine his accent.
too many to mention
2 highlights. I conspired to steal a "for sale" sign from a church and I took a flashing traffic beacon and hid it it under my coat all the way home

My drunken stories were all relatively tame and boring.
I guess we all did "dares" once and mine was to go to the nearby 24/7 supermarket and buy a huge cucumber, a bottle of lube, and a Justin Bieber dvd :joker: I had to wear sunglasses and wasn't allowed to speak...

As late-teens we did take the street sign from the street me and a friend grew up on ... it was a whole mission involving tools and all sorts. We weren't that drunk though :joker: (a little tipsy, dutch courage for the covert operation).

I've never stolen a sign, but I once put a sign on the front of a burger van, which said "I am hard of hearing, please speak loudly and slowly" :joker: I wasn't drunk though.

Never been drunk but I used to come across vans and cars , written in the dirt it said,
Wish my wife was this dirty!
I used write underneath, she is with me!

Likewise. We can’t all be wild and crazy like that. Part of me feels like alcohol beyond a few pints (I mostly only drink beer now) and the odd G. & T. (and by odd I really do mean a couple of times a year) is just a waste of time and better liver-functioning but at the same time I’m quite far from anything you’d consider teetotal or totally staid, even if it is mostly in moderation these days. What I will say is that people who are very pro-alcohol but firmly against psychedelics/ketamine (which have a lot of solid experimental backing for being effective alternative treatments for depression) and cannabis (when it’s augmented with CBD - as it should, because CBD and THC are supposed to supplement and mellow each-other out rather than be regarded in isolation in a way contrary to the actual science of the plant) are very hypocritical but that’s another discussion altogether. I won’t go into that but at the end of the day stuff like that is people’s individual business, not mine. Go crazy on the tequila shots and vodka over the weekend but don’t mock me because I tend to mostly stop at Birra Moretti. The only spirit I drink semi-regularly these days (on the weekend) is The Famous Grouse.

I was going to mention that but at the end of the day you haven’t really partied as a student if you haven’t had at least one shenanigan with a trolley/lamp-post/street sign anyway. I trolly-wheeled someone to a chicken shop one night but to be fair I was actually one of the most sober of the lot.
