Corries Gail is leaving the soap after 50 Years : Kill Her Off

[Helen Worth leaves Coronation Street after
50 years.
The soap say her character Gail will
"bid farewell to Weatherfield in a major
storyline for the Platt family".

In a statement, Worth, 73, said:
"I made the decision at the start
of the year and spoke to the producers
who were very kind and understanding.

That’s up to her. She can just move on and pop back up on FaceTime or for (more failed) weddings. Not everyone wants characters unnecessarily killed off just for the sake of drama.

The odd thing is she's not supposed to be 73 in the show. I think when she first got the part, they shaved about 10 years off her age, and she's acted 10 years or so younger since. :p

Like Ken Barlow. Actor William Roache is 92, but Barlow is supposed to be about 82.

I haven't watched Corrie for years but I always remember the David Psycho era & Richard Hillman, oh and the fella who tried to fake his death etc ,so I guess it's about time they give Gail something happy.

It would actually be cool if they brought him back for a hallucinatory-type sequence that Gail experiences just before she passes, assuming the character does die.
