How many people do you think will watch the launch. It's not being simulcasted on ITV2, and the advertising has been pretty meh, so I think it'll be much lower than last years, just about 1m I'd say.

Yeah, the hype even on here seems a lot less than last year. I’ll say 1m (but just)

570,000.
I don't see any advertising, just on here. I think this will be the last one.

The series average will take a hit as well, considering MAFS is rating well. The officials that came in today say that its rating at about 2m

Last year we had Noky rumoured earlier than this.

Can't even begin to guess a ratings average. I think ITV had the best intentions for resurrecting the show, but I don't think they executed it properly. "Back to basics" was a little misleading. I do think it's hard to make a show like this in this day and age. The world is just too easily offended now. The fact they're rumoured to be giving hm's a crash course on what is/is not acceptable behaviour is a red flag. The show needs to be raw. Who knows, maybe this season will be a pleasant surprise.

Dont know why people are saying it's not been advertised. Every single itv show in the past two weeks in a least two of the advert breaks of each show the advert is shown. However I haven't seen billboards etc but the TV advert is on all the time
For ratings I'm gonna say 979,000

The initial launch might not get high viewership, but if the cast is great and creates moments worth talking about on TikTok, X, etc. - the viewership will increase.

Pretty disappointing that it didn't get over a million. I think series overnight average will probs be around 700k or a bit less

I'm not going to stress about ratings, as it's out of my control.
Hopefully it will get decent viewing. As this cast I think has potential.

The ratings were terrible? why am I not surprised.. probably down to a less diverse age cast. But with that being said though they did manage to reach their target audience and that was high, so they will be happy with that.
Does this mean.. the end could be in sight again?

people decided not to watch before the cast were revealed (based on the rating )
Now that the cast have been revealed we can judge going forward if it was a success or not

Agreed, especially when things like Eastenders can barely get 2 million nowadays on BBC1.
The catch up figures will be the thing to look out for. Last year each episode doubled.
But i do get it that a face value it does look bad despite being very good for the channel.

What they need to do is tease the housemates to us to entice people.
It's day 1 and the show has already dropped to lower ratings than any episode last series :skull:

Kind of expected after the launch figure. Will be interesting to see how it does catch up wise. Was adding a decent amount last year with ITVX included.

But remember, we won't know the finalised ratings for this week until two weeks from now. So these episodes could hit 1 million with catch-up.

I think that the Launch didn't help.
Because I do feel that the subsequent episodes have been sharper, but the Launch felt very rushed and hard to really get a feel for anyone.

Seriously no way to spin this other than it being an absolute disaster. Ratings should be close to their peak at this stage in the series yet it's 50% of what last year was getting. L&L was getting better ratings than this
Makes you wonder where the floor is now - could well be getting 200k episodes by the end of the series

Kinda disappointed especially considering how low the overnights have gotten. It needs to make up a lot of catch up next Monday.

I dont think that happens anymore. Back in the day it used to be the case (ratings fell by almost 1m when Nikki left bb7), but people said it would happen when people left in the C5 era and never happened.
With Trish too, infact the episodes following her eviction for a few days increased.

Round up so far this week:
Monday- 613k
Tuesday- 610k * share of 5.4%, highest since 1st Hl show
Wednesday- 621k
The fact that in on average has so far been around 50k-100k higher than the week before. It's not the end of the week yet, but if tonight is over 500k and tomorrow is over 600k, it would be the first time in a very long time since a regular series of BB has its 2nd week higher than the 1st.
Worth noting that Tuesday's show (unsure about last night), the 16-34 young % share overtook MAFS which is quite shocking considering they had 300k more viewers.
Tonight may be down. Last Thursday was the all time low of 460k, i'd like to think it won't go back down to that.
Vanessa
17-10-2024, 07:54 PM
That's good and there are also online viewing figures to add.
*mazedsalv**
17-10-2024, 07:59 PM
Basically the last series to have Week 2 higher than week 1 was Big Brother 3 in 2002. Only BB1-3 had it happen.
Encouraging uplift although makes you wish they had advertised the new series better so it could have had a higher starting point
Anyone know last nights?
*mazedsalv**
18-10-2024, 03:16 PM
It was down last night as expected, but up from last Thursday's low by around 70k.
*mazedsalv**
19-10-2024, 09:48 AM
The eviction last night:
642k (5.7%)
The share of the 16-34 was a large 19.1%.
Rating is the very close to the first HL rating of the show (around 30k off). That share is the highest share since launch. And the eviction was 90k up on last weeks.
BigAsher

All the past week has continued to be up on the same ep the week before, can only be good thing.
I doubt the consolidated will be 1.4m+ considering that is what launch got but we will see.

Officials are in (these INCLUDE devices) from source on ITV. In brackets i will put the overnight.
Launch- 1.39m (825k)
Monday 7th- 1.31m (670k)
Tuesday 8th- 1.16m (570K)
Wednesday 9th- 1.24m (590k)
Thursday 10th- 1.10m (460k)
Friday 11th- 1.08m (550k)
Sunday 13th- 1.16m (535k)
Of course we wanted them higher, but its not too bad. Also after that Sunday episode, all the next week of overnights were higher so we could be seeing a few 1.2m+.
Late and Live:
Sun (launch) - 517k
Mon - 370k
Tue - 332k
Wed - 285k
Thu - 235k
Frid - 364k
Sun - 315k
All 14 BB shows make the top 14 of the week.
That's a promising uplift especially on that 460k episode
Interesting that the eviction was the lowest show of the week lol

Beat BBC1 and Channel 4 and up on the previous week. Late and Live got 357k (4.5%) in the 10:15pm-11pm slot, it's highest since launch night.
It seems the shorter 45 min for L&L is working.

So this so called "boycott" did nothing. Well actually it helped it get the biggest Thursday rating which has been the lowest raters this year so far.
On multichannel, Married At First Sight UK was witnessed by 1.1m (8.1%), while Big Brother continued on ITV2 with 580,000 (4.3%)
So despite a series high for MAFS, BB still (with this boycott), ended up going up. This was 50k higher than last Thurs and 120k up on the all time low Thursday two weeks ago.

Don't know but either way
The ratings increase compared to last couple of Thursdays last night prove that:
1. The twitter people who were boycotting were so small that it did nothing,
2. Those who said they were boycotting actually didn't.
3. The people stating they are boycotting never even watched a single episode anyway.
I think it was a combo of all three.

Izaaz's eviction aired to the highest rating since launch, as the show broke the 700k mark for the first time since the launch episode.
Friday:
Big Brother Live Eviction- 703k
16-34 share of 19.6%
Sunday:
Big Brother- 601k
16-34 share of 13.3%
An unusually high young skew for Friday's show.

In terms of officials, we only got a bunch without devices (so this excludes a fair bit, maybe around 100k+ to add on), all figures are averaging out around 1m (just below or just above 1m), sounds low but with devices they should be flat on W1's ~1.1m
Also in terms of overnights, for the first time ever, in both BB and CBB, this is the first time there has been a week on week growth for 3 weeks:
Week 1. 599k
Week 2. 605k
Week 3. 620k

Not surprised. It's a great series. I'm really enjoying it so much
Interestingly although the overnights have been better recently the officials are very stable and only just hovering above the 1m figure
This is way down on last year which was averaging 1.6m at the same point

Well that's what having a launch with 1.7m more viewers would do, on a telecast 2 channel and 2 evictions and a final on ITV1 would do.
With the launch rating we got this year, it would have been actually impossible to get similar ratings to last year. It started off 1.7m behind lol
Officials: 3.6m vs 1.4m. I mean in officials it was actually 2.2m behind. This series has done incredibly well to hold on.
Also this series with devices is averaging 1.2m. Last week 2 episodes were 1.3m.

BB continued with 680k, just about surpassing the previous highlight high from Monday (679k).

Another high last night!
713k.
Also Late and Live got 465k which is a series high, this is higher than 1 episode of the main show in week 1!
Looks like the penultimate week averaged over 1m so the final official series average is likely to be just north of 1m
Does that seem right?
