He's hardly Michael jackson or David Bowie so no.
I suppose. I mean it'd be relevant to a large portion of them, given the general age group in there.

Don't be derogatory. He was a huge star who made a massive impact on hearts and minds.
I do think they should be told yes.
And holiday resort pathways...
To soon?

When Liam Payne fell off that balcony in Argentina a few people tried to grab him. But apparently he was only going in the One Direction.

Hmm.
Him personally? Nah. Has he even had much of a solo career?
(Not deriding him as a person or his music, but he's no MJ or Bowie)

It's not about him having a solo career.
He's not in the sense of music, but I truly believe he had as big impact

Oliver that's just your opinion. I'm afraid you are in a minority. Not that there's anything wrong with being in a minority. But it sounds derisory and dismissive.
…not really, I don’t think…there are often significant events happen during BB and their time in the house and it wouldn’t be fair to ‘rate’ the importance of them by relaying one but not another…they are all aware of the no world event contact and will all have been given more detail of it so they themselves wouldn’t expect it…and in a way it wouldn’t be fair to them either if it was ‘shock news that had a personal impact on them’…and that impact had to be processed publicly, or not in privacy around their fellow housemates as well…so many reasons I feel, why it wouldn’t benefit for them to be told and would serve no purpose…

It really isn't? Do you want me to catalogue his achievements, both with 1D and solo? That's a rhetorical question btw.
:idc: you are extremely rude and negative. He's a person, that is who he is. He deserves some respect.
Why?
He didn't sound like he has much respect for his exes.

This isn't like Elvis or Prince passing really though, is it? I mean... It's sad that he died, let's give him some respect here, but it isn't a cultural event or anything.
No need to fall out about it either in all honesty. What's so hard in just understanding that some have feelings about this and being cool with that?

I don't know who you are either, I don't think we've ever spoken so how I am begging for a reaction from you is bewilderingly.
And I can assure you more people know about me than you sweetheartrrr.
But carry on with your unfunny jokes about someone who has just taken their life. You are a lovely human.
Extremely well said.

You're missing the point? To the fans, and there are huge numbers of them, it's every bit as devastating as Prince, MJ, Elvis, whoever you care to name?

Yes, and I acknowledge that. But it's sad within the fandom, but not a cultural event. That's all I am saying... So it doesn't need to be mentioned in the house.
This is in no way me devaluing how the fans feel about it.
Honestly, I am not one of the ones picking a fight with you here. I am saying respect your feelings on it.

Yes Vesavius. I see that you are not at all being disrespectful to myself I do.
In my eyes though it is a cultural event.

That's the only point in which we differ.
But, I know it's still raw and emotions are high about it so I'm not interested in making you or anyone else feel worse about it than you do so I am good with leaving it at that :)

In the past when celebrities have died Big Brother has been okay with telling the housemates. Even other Celebrity news has often been told to housemates in the past in tasks and such. BB8 they told them that Umbrella by Rihanna was no1 for however many weeks lol.

Like who? I know they found out about David Bowie but that was only because of the David's dead mix up and they only told Angie because she was his ex wife and the father of her son

world of difference between Michael Jackson and Liam Payne tbf, was that the only time? I think it would be a bit gratuitous to tell them just so they could be upset for entertainment value, something would feel a bit off about that imo

Yeah I can’t think of any other times but also cannot think of any other shocking celeb deaths that have occurred whilst BB was filming.
I remember during BB6 they didn’t tell the housemates about the London Bombings.

No. It's shocking but it's nothing they need to be told about, it doesn't affect any of them personally. They were only told about Michael Jackson in BB10 because Federico mentioned it already.

I don't think I'd go that far lol

Davids dead was actually a rare moment - particularly for more recent series - that cut through way beyond BB. It gets mentioned a lot as one of the most surreal moments of TV even by those who never watch BB
