It is time to let the competition begin again! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision.

Malmö — Sweden's southern capital where we will Captivate, and where We Are One. What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the voting period. This edition, in addition to both shows, a full length show merging both portions will be introduced as well. As songs and artists are chosen and sent to me, I will reveal them in the thread as to build up excitement and make things feel more like Eurovision.

The voting system from the first few editions returns. Every country will each give out two sets of 12, 10, and 8-1 points; one for the jury voting, and the other for the televoting. The Rest of the Forum vote returns as well, but as an extra set of 12, 10, 8–1 points in the televote. I strongly encourage everyone to have most of, if not all of their votes be different, as to try and shut down vote rigging accusations.

- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the countries you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
--From this edition onwards, everyone can choose between 1 and 3 countries to participate as (4 countries if you decide to choose one of the Big 5 or the host country).
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The voting portion of the contest will take place over the course of a 1 week period.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics a spot in the TiBB Music Festival Hall of Fame! - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Like the past 2 editions, the host country and Big 5 will all qualify for the final. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game. From now on, the UK will be split into the 4 nations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Because of the war in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia will not be selectable until further notice. Because of the war in Gaza and tensions in the Middle East, Israel will not be selectable until further notice.

Hmm, 32 in a final could be interesting and points will be spread out more to make it less predictable?

But I wouldn’t be opposed to a semi final. As long as we don’t know the points until it’s all over (like real Eurovision). Maybe if you do semi final we lose just enough to leave 20 plus any of the big 5/host (and if a big five isn’t chosen drop it from the game?)

A semi-final might do, but just to reduce my workload, I might keep the semi-final to here on the forum with a YouTube playlist and a Spotify playlist. Also keeping the voting to just 1 set of votes for each country in the semi might work. No-one has to do a butt-load of votes either.

Oh yeah, that list isn’t a guarantee by any means of the songs that will make the final. Just based on past voting already known songs and songs in English tend to fare better, but not always.

Best thing is to vote for your actual fave songs well known or not.

It’s also not a list of odds to win. That will likely look very different depending on what songs make it plus adding in the songs already in the final.

Josiah, can I make a suggestion for countries participating if we fail to submit scores (or in the case of whichever country is in but not assigned to somebody).

Rather than assign random scores which could dramatically alter the results based on fake points, instead those countries award points based on the final order of the top ten countries in the rankings so it doesn’t actually alter positions. Does that make sense?

This was definitely a semi-final that had quite a competitive edge, especially with 1 set of points for each country. But, the votes have been counted (even with a last-second set of votes). The qualifiers have been revealed, and are now listed on the website and wiki.

Congratulations to the countries who qualified, and commiserations to those who didn't. However, all is not lost, as everyone will get to vote on the 20 finalists starting on Saturday when the recap for the final is posted.

Two Notes: 1) I ended up making voting banners that pop up during the songs, and at the end of the video, I also added the saying that Gina said when she presented the Swedish vote at Eurovision 2016 (and the correct way too); and 2) Kate and Nicky have already voted. Kate did so as she wasn't going to be able to immediately be around for the recap, and Nicky most likely did so as an apology for voting so late for the semi-final.

Yeah, I asked Josiah last night. Separate pms for each country’s jury and tele votes. So if you have 4 counties, 8 PMs.

Correct. One set for televoting and one set for jury.
