i call her the princess of west end

because there is only one royalty at west end tbh, ''The King of West End'' John Barrowman

but Amber comes close to being as flamboyant of a performer as him :flutter: i wonder though what he'll think of Amber competing on strictly this year, a fellow west end star, and Barrowman is a strictly fan

It was like watching an experienced professional. BECAUSE SHE IS AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL!

she isn't JEEZ

she only is trained in musical theatre, not latin or ballroom

wanna moan, then follow the american version, where alec baldwin's wife Hilaria is competing, whom literally took part at blackpool ballroom championships

and to be honest, i thought she was gonna come across too theatrical because of her extensive west end experience, but glad she isn't too theatrical here, that samba felt enough performative but also enough natural for my liking

and please chill this week :idc: it also was her birthday last night, and btw seeing her boyfriend cheer so wild for her next to her sister, he must be the luckiest guy on the world to be the boyfriend of such a superstar performer

Well yes, no one would expect to pay to watch someone in the West End who can't dance. She has all the confidence of a professional, she was picking out the cameras to smile into while she was dancing... She's a good dancer but I want to watch someone who improves week by week. This was week 2.

We're never going to agree on this, I know that.

I like the mix tbh.

Contestants like Amber and Lewis help get the Show off the ground, whilst the Show is waiting to see who gets better out of the novices in the competition.

For example I think that George made a big stride with his last performance, but I might be being biased tbf as I love the Paso.

…I’m not generally a Strictly watcher so much but I know that there is often discussions/conflict-ions/controversy etc over any celebrities who have a more substantial dance experience background…I’m interested in what you say in terms of liking the mix because …(…I would imagine…)…that having those more experienced dancers helps to give an aspiration for others to improve week on week and that’s no bad thing either in competition…but obviously if the more experienced dance background celebrities do that…/…help raise the goal bar…?…I guess it’s then, ahhhhhhh but should they win over one of the ‘most improved’….tricky, isn’t it…

I agree with your assessment on it helping inspire the other contestants to aim to improve each week.

And you're also right that is a tricky debate on who should win out of the ringers or the novices.

Personally I just go with who I just naturally like the best, Strictly is probably the one Show where I don't try to overthink it too much.

Ooo yeah I love the paso too. It's up there with the Argentine Tango.

I think the fact that every year they put in people who are dance trained, and I know they're not ballroom dance trained (except Angela bloody Ripon) but they do have the basics and the public try to vote them off, they go into the dance off and the judges save them right up to the end. But the public don't want them to win, so they don't. It's typical BBC for me, the majority of the public speaks, the BBC sticks its fingers in its ears.

Just my take... I like the fear in notices faces and the joy when it starts to come together, not a confident pro dancer doing the wink-and-the-gun at the camera as they dance past.

I will stop banging on about it now, thanks for listening lol....

George's Paso lacked spanish lines

honestly Amber is the first one i'm as hyped for like i was for Pixie Lott, and she does have a good point regarding defending herself against the haters, that she like everyone else has to learn latin and ballroom as a beginner to these styles, and honestly those with west end experience tend to come across theatrical, but i'm thankful Amber isn't anywhere as ''robotic'' like Danny John-Jules was or Karim Zeroual, she also has more natural movement than Layton, also much more likeable than Layton, that was a good VT for her this week, showing the little town in Wales where she grew up, lovely how many in that town know her so well :D

And I do agree with you that the ringers are poor for competitive voting, because most of them tend to not really be liked by the public.

And I also do agree that novices that do improve from their first dance can be really exciting to watch.

It's why I did like Seann Walsh in his year, despite his scandal.

What I want to know is how does Wales have so many beautiful women in a population of 3.1 million people?

- Amber from this year's Strictly

- Lucie Jones

- Katherine Jenkins

- Imogen BB7

- That Elen woman that went really early on the last season of The Traitors

- Rachel Rice

And that's just off the top of my head.

And fair enough about George's Paso. I personally thought that it was decent for a week 2 effort at the dance.

Nicky91

also her dance experience, isn't a lot, her only advantage really is selling a routine

but every latin and ballroom technique she has shown to be great at, she learned on this show

the early weeks in this show, before hitting the dance off, she mainly focussed on technique

but after the dance off, she now is having a lot more fun as well, and her chemistry with Nikita is also more visible as such a excellent partnership

i also love how Lewis hugged her when she got her first 10s for the Salsa, and i think post strictly, Amber can put in a good word with some west end producers for Lewis if he wants to, i really see potential for a west end comeback for Lewis, the great performer/showman that he is, he should do something now with those even more improved dance skills

Amber would deserve to win for the down to earth such lovable graceful charismatic woman she is, but anyway i want her to survive this weeks Blackpool special, and then hopefully next week her couples choice, which would make people warm even more to her, basically such a humble background she comes from, her parents who work as plumbers, how hard Amber had to work to get where she is at West End

Nicky91
20-11-2025, 09:07 AM
we all know Reach works great for a quickstep

AwCNpMoDeJk

and this was in a regular week at elstree

i really hope the quickstep to this song, on that more bouncy blackpool tower floor can provide that extra wow factor, and another happy dance luckily, because she has the most beautiful smile EVER  footwork needs to be synchronized, but i'm sure Nikita knows that

also a charleston bit in this, will be excited to see the going out of hold and back in hold transitions

and Amber's advantage now with the non-elimination week

she still has many crowdpleasing dances left to do, like Jive, Charleston, Couples Choice, while having had quite some of the difficult technique wise dances behind her

pretty sure her couples choice might be at Musicals Week, maybe the Jive next week then

and then in case she goes as far the semi final, she still has the charleston as a possible secret weapon left, with maybe a foxtrot as second dance but that is me looking ahead

so yes this non-elimination week comes in quite handy (as i also felt quite nervous this week otherwise, not saying she isn't good at the more technically difficult dances but she can really shine in the crowdpleasing ones, for both judges and viewers and audience)

Nicky91
24-11-2025, 09:06 AM
with Balvinder on Jive this week, i think they won't have the Jive then, but you never know, we had two same dances in one week before

maybe a Tango, and i wonder what their chosen instant dance enveloppe is, i kinda hope for the Samba, as she did great at that one, with lots of basic content

Nicky91
01-12-2025, 08:43 AM
superb jive to proud mary

now musicals week, guys and dolls charleston, not used before (a huge plus) and a older musical, another huge plus

another perfect 40 this week, maybe  this is her comfort zone so

Nicky91
01-12-2025, 08:55 AM
she kinda gives me Lili Paul-Roncalli vibes, especially how perfect she executes those leg tricks

yes her chances of making the final have increased now i feel, with a bit of a breakthrough moment this week with that jive

also how annoyed Nikita must be with her talking that much to Claudia  considering he loves to be the one who talks the most lmao

i actually agree with Amber, never her having expected to be able to do this show, because of such a busy west end career, like as of next year she is extremely busy with Legally Blonde for the next 2 years

hence why she isn't doing the strictly tour, neither is George tbh, also because of his own comedy theatre tour

Unfortunately for Amber she's in the role that Tasha was in last year.

Amber could literally do the Bolero and she still wouldn't get the vote.

She'll get more credit from the public once the Show is over I reckon.

the public better, i mean they have every right to be proud of Britain's most insanely talented west end performer! and how humble she is too, i mean she is soooo warm and welcoming when interviewing her west end colleagues, also every other contestant here on the show loves her too

i loved it what she said about George ''i even got George to really love musicals''

Nicky91
07-12-2025, 08:57 AM
and honestly

that leg split, amazing how some people can do that, i can't so i can show my respect for such talent

also this was her first time with a real charleston with more basic content, while in Great Gatsby musical that is more a theatrefied charleston without swivels

and those swivels looked so clean, precise, you can tell she worked hard on those this week, despite light back injury issues after that back bend in her Jive the week before, she had went to the physio for that

i absolutely agree with Amber, what she said about performing on that floor with backing dancers, about the ''oomph'' it also looks so much better than any regular week, you also see the oomph in most performances even of other contestants, how much those backing dancers add to the routines

btw her boyfriend Ben Joyce is also a very prominent west end star, he will play Phillip in Greatest Showman next year (that character in the film was played by Zac Efron), and she and Ben got to know each other through back to the future musical, where she was Lorraine Baines and he was Marty McFly

and yes i myself also love musicals

back about greatest showman production next year, my nation's musical star Vajen van den Bosch playing Jenny in that :flutter: yes Vajen is one of my nation's talented musical queens basically (from Dirty Dancing, Gloria Estefan musical, Grease productions, and also Frozen)

Amber is not likeable. People have not warmed to her because she's gushy and fake. Yes, she's a good dancer. She should be, it's her job! She's irritating, she picks out the cameras while she's dancing and winks and points, she's like the dancing equivalent of Ron Burgundy

hun

this is a fanclub, you know for positive posts?

of course she works the camera, that is called owning a performance with your personality

her personality this week lifted that charleston to a whole new level, with her quirky facial expressions  also those school kids where she went to school wishing her best of luck :clap2:

Nicky91
08-12-2025, 09:13 AM
she wasn't even meant to be in this years line up, so all of this journey of hers is just very magical and a bonus

second choice replacement (Lewis Cope was first choice, filled in for Hodor, she stepped in for Dani, and tbh Dani would've also gotten ringer backlash i think)

i mean Amber wouldn't have the time for the show, in 2026 or also in 2027, too busy with Legally Blonde tour

and Amber always has been honest about her background from day 1, i just LOVE her complete nerdiness in studying the dance they're doing each week very thoroughly

my favourite performances so far from her and Nikita are

that red riding hood viennese waltz

the Salsa

the Paso Doble

the Charleston

oh yes the Little Mermaid-esque blackpool quickstep too was fantastic

and their week 1 waltz was a piece of magic simply because they had come up with that in less than 36 hours

Nicky91
15-12-2025, 08:31 AM
like i said, i didn't care how she became a finalist, it matters to me more in getting to the final

also again not behaving arrogantly or something towards Balvinder, with her 40 couples choice, but finding it an honour to be in the dance off against the dance off assassin

Amber is such a beautiful girl, inside and out, and i thought she did her couples choice just slightly more polished even in the dance off, in terms of getting out of the lifts

now for the final

i'm curious what the showdance will be then, since her couples choice was more about ''Growth'' so i expect something more over the top showy, and in terms of how she should go into the final, ''Just Have FUN my queen''

judges choice i reckon it might be one of the ballrooms, maybe her week 1 waltz even, just for us to see what more she can do with it, with more days of training rather than 36 hours

and favourite dance, i think the Salsa, but it could also be the Paso Doble considering how much she loved learning that one

Nicky91

yes

and after this final, she definitely deserves a nice couple days of rest with the christmas holidays and new years eve, before moving on with rehearsals for Legally Blonde in the new year

Amber slayed big time

and shame on those stupid facebook trolls :idc: and yes i agree with Amber, seems they were deliberately trying not to warm to her :idc:

and no, Amber had no dance experience, more performing experience, that much dancing she didn't do in the west end, only a bit in great gatsby and that theatrefied charleston can't be compared to the strictly charleston either AT ALL

so with 6 hours of practice for week 1 waltz, where the others had 6 weeks, she was more at a disadvantage, but shows how great of a student she has been

and good on Amber taking the dance offs as an extra experience, since her first dance off she indeed began really having more fun, letting go a lot more

she would've soooooo been a deserving winner, but good on Amber for being that selfless kind-hearted beautiful woman, and speaking with high praise about George and Karen

i do hope she'll win the WhatsOnStage award she's nominated for though, do think fellow nominee and her friend Layton also wouldn't mind losing to her

this series was soooo enjoyable throughout, one of the best series ever for me personally

She knew she wasn't going to win. A trained dancer never, ever wins. the Great British Public are fair, they do not like cheating. To say her training didn't help her is insulting to every dancer in the West End.

I saw Janette Manrara playing Roxy Hart in Chicago earlier this year. It's like saying her ballroom and Latin training didn't help her musical theatre performance. She was brilliant, by the way...

Yes she was brilliant but she trained in Musical theatre from the age of 16...so this would all have come more naturally to her and easier.
I looked forward to watching her each week but the public will always back a novice...
Karen definitely deserved the win..
