Windows 11 25H2 Update KB5068861 got weird problems

it says ''failed to install'' on the windows update screen, however make sure to type Winver in the search bar and check for what your current version of windows is, which build

26200.7171 is the latest one, the build which belongs to that November 2025 security update KB5068861



more annoying is, i can't check for updates anymore with that failed to install message irritating me, but then again, by the time of December's patch tuesday/wednesday i can enable automatically search for latest updates ;)




i also noticed it is likely installed, even though it says it didn't, from my SSD/C, which went from 164GB to 160GB, and 4GB is about normal for a patch update



also when i shut my computer off, it doesn't even say ''updates in progress'' and when i try clicking on try installing again it just says ''there are no planned updates for your device found''

today it says

''download and install'' and when you click on that, it says the same ''failed to install'' message, there are no new updates for your device/build


well duh, since i have 26200.7171 build, so this update is correctly installed for me, but windows update has some glitch i guess that it thinks it failed to install (and update history belongs with windows update so that also shows that same message)

problem now solved i guess, i now see ''your pc is up to date'' with a green check, although as for the update it is now nowhere to be seen in update history, not even the failed to install messages


i am still in 26200.7171 build so i know it is correctly installed
