Yeah I do agree, I watched BB3 entirelly and it was awesome, I loved it, but less than BB5 (the famous theory of the first BB lol).

Nikki was entertaining when she didn't make awful tantrums and crying for nothing, she was deffo awful sometimes.

BB7 for me. It had Lea in it.

BB5 hands down, although closely followed by BB3, BB7 doesn't even come third for me, BB2 and BB6 trump it.

But BB5 had everything you could want out of BB, a fantastic line-up of housemates and the right amount too, brilliantly executed twists, fun and evil tasks, excitement, drama, alliances and tension...just an all round classic series.

Wales and many more . . .

Seems like the best cast list to me! :thumbs:

you can say what you like but i still think she was a greatly entertaining housemate and she was the main resson i watched BB7 and her acting like a 3 year old was funny i thought i would hate bb to just be nomall people sitting and chatting she changed that series and i feel it was for the better not the worse

We are going to have to agree to disagree. She spoilt the whole show. Her and the other crazies were awful to watch. I couldn't laugh at anyone as crazy as her. It would be like going down to a mental hospital and laughing at the poor people there. They can't help it if they are ill, but unlike Nikki they are getting it sorted.

Not sure about the judgement of some of the people that took the poll given that Jade Goody came in number 2 in the best housemate section it must included a fair share of BNP members.

If you added up the percentages I think BB5 just tops the figure for BB7 and BB3 wins hands down.

BB7 always does well in general public voting, the heatworld poll just two weeks ago, had Glyn the most popular HM ever, second in the list was Nikki then it was Brian Dowling. Harris Interactive poll had Nikki as the most Entertaining HM ever, in all those general public poll, BB7 does better than BB5.

I agree with you in this one, I myself hated Pete and Nikki as a couple, and thak god he dumped her, even though it wasn't Nikki's fault, but just didn't connect with Pete and Nikki as a couple, Guy and Nikki looked better as a couple. The couple I voted for was Mikey and Imogen, I voted in that poll.

BB7 is a more recent series so those housemates are more likely to be remembered, despite being as dull as dishwater. Plus, new fans watch the show every year and a lot of the voters may not have seen the older series of the show and so only voted for housemates from the series they did see.

From youtube and heat and the ratings, I get the feeling that it goes BB3/ BB7 (there pretty close in populartity but I think it sides with BB3) then BB5! :dance2:

The same thing happens on here when you do polls. A lot of the older members don't post anymore and have left the site. Those that were here during and before BB5 are few in number now. We still have a lot of members that joined during BB6 and even more that joined during BB7. The other thing that has changed on the site is the age range of users. We use to have a lot of older users that saw the early shows but now most of our users first experiences of Big Brother are from Big Brother 6 and 7 onwards. It affects the results of polls.

Another interesting factor to tie in with this is people will tend to remember more recent events than those of the past. That is just the way the brian works. Older memories get buried by new memories.

I don't think the poll is reliable, but this thread isn't about the radio times poll, it about which of the three shows was better and we have been side tracked.

According to the votes so far Big Brother 5 is winning with 8 votes, Big Brother 7 is second with 7 and Big Brother 3 has 1 vote.

BB3 had the highest ratings of any series, so that would be the most popular if you really want to look at facts. BB5 is second, and BB7 is third, if I remember rightly. So that would be the order of popularity if you wanted to go on facts and figures alone.

There is no denying that is the best line-up ever, there is no 'bad-eggs' so to speak, each one added something in their own way. Oh and I believe Victor is the only housemate in the history of BB to be credited with "Saving the Big Brother franchise".

BB7 had some decent housemates I'll give it that, but it also had some very dull ones, some over-the-top annoying ones and then don't get me started on the tasks and twists..meh.

Oh and this is why we NEED an Allstar BB in the UK, really find who entertains us the most out of all the series. Then we could really crown a true BB champion.

If you watch BB3, none of those characters are evn funny, witty, Jade Goodey was famous for being dumb, and I watched Kate Lalwer last year in Love Ireland, she was just:sleep:. BB7 beats everything interms of comedy and entertainment.

I agree. BB5 was the first year of the "evil" theme and the evil twists theme continued onto the following years of Big Brother because it was so popular. But I think people might be bored of these twists now, in the last two years a lot of the twists have flopped so I think it's time to move away from the Evil theme and have a new theme instead.

I agree about Victor as well. He was brilliant in the Diary Room, he had brilliant one-liners and always let the public in on his gameplan.

In ratings BB3 is the best, as I've said many times though, ratings aren't everything. I'm not sure if you watched BB5 at the time or have just seen clips or whatever, but at the time when BB5 happened there was a lot riding on the series, many people wrote it off after BB4 and if BB5 wasn't good BB could very well have ended there and then. BB5 launch night was one of the best ever, every single episode was must-see TV for numerous reasons, one of the best start to a series ever with all the Kitten stuff and her getting kicked out and then refusing to leave. The only problem it had was that after the series got halfway through it became obvious Nadia would win, although Victor became a fave for a while but after he went the winner was obvious, which was a shame. But still it's better than BB7 where the winner was chosen the second he entered the house.


Although I will admit Victor is the best DR Performer. Can't believe I forgot about him!

We can't really judge a series on it's winner though to be honest, because if we did every series would be crap. Brian (BB2) was the only deserving winner.

Lets take a look:

BB3 - Kate (an okay winner, but really should've been Alex)
BB4 - Cameron (not much choice here, but Tickle should've won this series)
BB5 - Nadia (she was entertaining for a while but the last few weeks she was just complaining about the lack of cigarettes. Victor should've won)
BB6 - Anthony (worst winner ever, Science should've won or Makosi)
BB7 - Pete (closely behind Anthony, Aisleyne should've won)
BB8 - Brian (best of a bad bunch I suppose)

So as we can see the winners have always been pretty dire, that's why if they ever do an Allstar series the winners shouldn't be included.

Oh and on to first weeks. BB7 did have a great first week I can admit that, although the Shahbaz bullying went too far. BB7 actually had a good first few weeks but around Week 6 or 7 is became to much and it went down the pan.

BB5's first week was better because there was so many huge characters. And all these huge characters were trying to deal with Kitten who was climbing on roofs, grafitying on the walls and trying to start a revolution against BB. You actually had some decent arguments about stuff like race, immigration and sexuality and not just 'food'. Then you had the fun side, Jason (remember he was fun in the first two weeks) doing his naked cooking. You had Victor already making his plans in some legendary DR sessions. The suitcase twist. Then Kitten refusing the leave. Great opening week and it just got better as the series went on.

I'd like to know when the 'BB7 Is The Best' fans started watching BB?

BB7 had to suffer with the world cup for over 30 days, than just after world cup finished, a week later it had Love Ireland and suffered till the the final week when Love ireland finished, than it also had that Sky+, and still managed to do great with the ratings, had it not been for those, BB7 would of done better than BB5 and even BB3.

Well then this is quite pointless.

But in ratings BB7 got only 700,000 less viewers than BB5. And as I've said Celebrity Love Island, Sky+ and the World Cup are all stiff competition.

All I can say is that if BB7 had none of those then there would have been a lot highere ratings.

And Billy, shut up! BB7 can hardly be one of the least popular- 3rd highest ratings, and gets alot of tops in the magazine polls (they're more important than pathetic forum polls which usually go to a max. of like 40 people).

It's not pointless as it's true, and BB7 wasn't the only series to be on newspapers you know.
You don't know if BB7 would have done better, there is no proofs of that, if BB7 didn't get more ratings it's for a good reasons, why don't you accept it ?
