Robbie Williams will receive the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' prize at next year's Brit Awards, it has been announced.

The singer, who has won more Brits than any other artist, will mark the honour with a performance at the event, which takes place at London's Earls Court on February 16.
Ged Doherty, Brits committee chairman, said: "Robbie is one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation. It will be an absolute thrill to have him at the Brits 30th anniversary show receiving the 'Outstanding Contribution' award. We are delighted."

Previous recipients of the award include Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie and last year's winners Pet Shop Boys.

Williams has sold more than 55 million albums since embarking on a solo career in 1995. He has collected 11 previous Brits as a solo artist, as well as four as a member of Take That.

He releases Reality Killed The Video Star, his eighth studio album, on November 9. His latest single 'Bodies' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesreviews/a180558/robbie-williams-bodies.html) is currently at number two on the UK singles chart.

they were about both the music and the looks esp cos everyone had a fav much like how it was with the spice girls there was the band as a whole then there were 5 camps of fans for each member
embarrassingly i was one of those crying girls when rob left cos he was and always has been my fav (my sis was a mark owen fan so you can imagine the fun in our house lol)
while i do like the man band stuff and a lot of the recent stuff for me tt will always be the 5 piece i loved back then (although i dont want to see them back as that now cos as i have said many times they work better as a 4 piece and a solo artist)

The proud recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award has been revealed and it's none other than our favourite entertainer, Robbie Williams! He joins a host of legendary artists to have received this award, including David Bowie, Tom Jones, Paul Weller, The Pet Shop Boys and U2, to name just a few.
Robbie will be picking up the coveted award at the BRIT Awards 2010 with MasterCard, the 30th BRIT Awards, which takes place on Tuesday 16th February 2010 at London's Earl's Court, when he will close the awards ceremony with another roof-raising live performance to not only a packed audience but also to millions of viewers who will have tuned in to watch the show live on ITV1.
Robbie received his first BRIT award in 1999 for Best British Male Artist and has since gone on to build a truly remarkable track record at the BRITs. He has won no less than 11 BRIT awards and received an amazing 31 nominations (22 as a solo artist).

oops, Morning Sun (Reprise) is the ending, haha, and pretty much the same as I said earlier.

Overall - I'm a bit disappointed there's no real outstanding tracks (like She's The One / Feel / etc.) but on the whole it's a strong album and I really like it :) it loses track a little in the middle but it has a great climax and it blends a lot of different styles well. 7.5/10 overall.

Robbie himself announced last week at BBC Electric Proms that the next single to be taken from his forthcoming album, Reality Killed The Video Star, is the beautiful ballad, You Know Me.


You Know Me follows hot on the heels of Bodies, Robbie's biggest selling single since Rock DJ in 2000. Bodies charted in the top three across Europe, with No.1s in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy and entry to the UK charts at No.2.


The single will be available on two formats, CD and digital download, from Monday, 7th December 2009.

recap of last couple pages i love rudebox i dont want rob back in tt they better as a 4 piece and a solo i hate this time of yr i get a bit meh about christmas have done since i split from mollys dad you guys make me feel old i'm 26 :( in january i think rob and ayda will get married and have lots of mini robs in next yr or so

my album came i let out a little squeal (ok big squeal :joker: ) when i opened it and molly just sorta rolled her eyes at me and walked away :joker: clearly i will be the embarrassing parent
on first listen i love it (so glad i waited for the cd) not 1 track i dont like which i only have for a handful of albums will do a track by track review once i listened to it a few more times it is very worthy of getting to number 1

blasphemy - love it but it makes me cry in the same way feel does

do you mind - this is def gonna be one of those tracks that gets everyone bouncing to on a tour i'm not really sure what its about but i love it none the less

last days of disco - i love his voice on this one it sounds kinda raw compared to the rest of album

somewhere - beautiful shame its not longer its kinda sad to me personally

deceptacon - not really sure what its about really and is prob my least fav on album although i like it

starstruck - love it love the corus

difficult for weirdos - this has a bit of rudebox vibe bout it to me which i love that he not abandoning completely

superblind - possibly one of my favs if i had to choose although i do think it has a kinda peter andre sound to it (not in a bad way)
