Kelly Brook's 'flat' samba leads to showdown between Brendan and judgesAfter weeks of being the favourite on Stricly Come Dancing, Kelly Brook's samba led to the most heated exchange yet between her dance partner Brendan Cole and the show's judges.

Birthday girl Brook looked shell-shocked as Cole refused to accept the judges' criticisms over poor choreography - which Bruno Tonioli likened to "having Judi Dench and getting her to read the Yellow Pages".

They achieved their lowest score of the series with 28 (ironically Brook's new age), placing them in the bottom two and only managing to beat John Barnes and Nicole Cutlers' samba by one point.

In the end it was left to the show's venerable presenter Bruce Forsythe to break-up the argument and inform everyone that he was in "charge and I haven't said that for 40 years".

"Honestly my high expectations have fallen on a flat balloon," said Arlene Phillips.

"You should have stormed through this ballroom," she added.

While head judge Len Goodman's told Cole: "Not a good dance routine for a girl (Brook) of this talent."

"It's like having Judi Dench and getting her to read the Yellow Pages," Tonioli added.

Cole, who has earned the reputation for being the 'badboy' of the ballroom with his rebellious attitude, could not hold back and lashed out at the judges that him and Brook had only had 8 hours to rehearse.

"She's (Brook) not a professional dancer," Cole complained - a comment which clearly riled a gracious Brook, who admitted the intensity of the show's rehearsals were "hard".

It was left to last week's "Belle of the ball" Alesha Dixon and partner Matthew Cutler to dance off with the top marks once again, winning 39 - the highest of the series so far with their "cheeky" cha cha.

"All I'll say, your best dance," Goodman told an exuberant Dixon and Cutler.

"My pulse is racing... It's viva time," Tonioli exclaimed.

"Totally amazing. You (Dixon) are fab-u-lous," Craig Revel Horwood added.

Eastenders Matt Di Angelo and partner Flavia Cacace's "sexy" salsa surely places them the couple as the show's new favourites along wit Dixon and Cutler.

"The Ramps returns," said an over-excited Phillips in reference to last year's champion Mark Ramprakash.

"The memory hot, hot, hot was sizzling round this room like sausages on a barbecue," she added.

"You're bringing sexy back," Tonioli said. "You're turning into the Spice Boy of the competition."

Another surprise for the night was Kenny Logan's American Smooth, which saw the former rugby player attempt two daring lifts of dance partner Ola Jordan.

"What a monumental effort," Tonioli told Logan, who achieved a personal best of 30 marks.

"That's a lot more like it," added Revel Horwood, finally able to say something positive to Logan after 8 weeks.

The scores are:

1. Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler - 39

2. Matt Di Angelo and Flavia Cacace - 38

3. Gethin Jones and Camilla Dallerup - 34

4. Letitia Dean and Darren Bennett - 32

5. Kenny Logan and Ola Jordan - 30

6. Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole - 28

7. John Barnes and Nicole Cutler - 27

They were a bit rubbish. I hate the wat Brendon cannot takeany kind of criticism. He let her down and should own up to that.
