Strictly whips X Factor againX FACTOR was again thrashed by Strictly Come Dancing in the ratings war on Saturday night.

Bruce Forsyth’s BBC show was watched by an average 9.3million viewers.

But its ITV rival trailed behind - managing about 8.8million.

And when the pair went head to head, Strictly was up by as much as 3.3MILLION.

The programme peaked at 10.3million towards the end of the show, as viewers tuned in to see stunning Kelly Brook beat ex-footie star John Barnes in a dance-off.

But X Factor beat that - peaking at 10.9million after Strictly finished and viewers changed channels.

The contestants for X-Factor are the poorest ever. I prefer Strictly anyway so I'm biased.

It's not him. He has talent that is clear. I just hate the sound of classical trained voices and I don't think they have a place in popular music. The ridged training kills the improvised nature of modern music and drags it back to the late 18th century.

A computing analogy would be like throwing away your all singing and dancing lap top going back to a slide rule.

Strictly may have had higher ratings, but XF peaked higher.

What people don't realise is that even though X Factor has lower ratings, X Factor is still thought as better as it wins more awards and has had a bigger impact on life eg if someone is singing you are likely to say "go on X Factor" whether good or bad as a joke anyway but if someone is dancing you wouldn't exactly say "go on Strictly Come Dancing". Also, X Factor thrives off PR as this year has shown, giving it a huge opening night back in August.

X Factor is also on for longer so has to sustain interest for over twice the length of SCD.
