REM 'Losing My Religion' only reached number 19 in 1991. A scandal when you consider Hale and Pace and Vic Reeves had number 1s in the same year.

Most of my favourite songs are number 2s: Pump up the Jam, Gold, Valerie, Rule the world, Last Christmas. Fairytale of New York, Whenever wherever, From Paris to Berlin, SOS (Rihanna), Sweet escape, Chasing Pavements, Gypsy Woman, Moving on Up, Holding back the years, Christmas time (Don't let the bells end), All I want for christmas, Piece of me and so on

Yeah, Fairytale of New York not getting No#1 is a travesty.

Just googled my favourite song of all time, Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack, and found it only reached #13 in the UK at time of release.

At least it's been named as the best song of all time by MTV2 and has ranked highly on other Top 100 Singles charts.

Did 'Chasing Cars' ever get to No1? I dont think it ever did, but it spent months in the Top 40. If it didnt, that definately should of. Its my favourite song of all time ever.

I agree, I love that song, should've charted higher than it did. Teardrop reached 10, I think that also deserved to chart higher.

Scouting for girls deserve nothing, they shouldn't of even made it into the charts. They should come back when they can write decent lyrics and don't repeat the same words over and over again.
