I try ^__^;;
I'll make a banner to put at the top later.
Yay Christina fans :]
Apparently her new album is gonna be short, sweet, and have a futuristic sound to it after she checked out a Kanye West show [who's interested in doing a collaboration with her]
I think it'd be good but I don't really like Kanye's music [although I hate P. Diddy and I love "Tell Me" lol]
i love Christina!cant wait for her new album.a colab with Kanye would be great!
I just fell in love with the 2003 VMA performance again with Britney doing 'Like a Virgin', I love it up untill the ***** Madonna comes out and basically rapes their faces.

LOL
christina should totally cover it, her voice sounds so good in that performance.
&I notice most people preferred Stripped/CA as opposed to BTB. I think Back To Basics was a clever move by Christina as it's the music she likes, something new and it still got to number #1 in many countries. It just wasn't as mainstream friendly as her older stuff [hence why after ANOM, she released music off the second disc]
i hope she goes to back to something like Stripped.BTB sold 4 million copies comapred to 12 million for Stripped.that proves most people preferd her Stripped era.

It may not have been as successful but that doesn't mean it was a bad album. It just wasn't mainstream-friendly enough. Some of the songs on there are mindblowing. [Hurt, Mercy On Me, Save Me From Myself, Still Dirrty]
Either way, she's going for a futuristic sound, which should be interesting. I doubt they will, but I really hope they don't mess with her voice.

Christina Aguilera is like my idol, I love her.
I prefer BTB because it felt like she had control over everything on the album and I love the sounds on the 2nd CD.
I'm reallt desperate to hear some new tracks from Christina and cant wait for a new album.

I'll just quote the other thread:
"I'm a MASSIVE fan since I was like 9! I have threehuge posters all three albums plus her Spanish, Christmas and demo album, two live DVDs, saw her in concert (BTB tour), bought all singles that don't appear on album (Tilt you Head Back, Car Wash, Tell Me, ect.), two books and two hour long recorded interviews! BOOM!"
Also forgot to say I had a calendar too. I think I still have it somewhere. She is THE best artist of our time and is way more talented than Britney!

So Sounds like a mix of BTB and Christina Aguilera

As much as I love Stripped, I'd prefer if she abandoned that era to keep it special. Also I think when she was was talking about "modern" and "futuristic", she was referring to the whole look rather than sound of the album. And the stage sets too. I can't wait cos I LOVED the look Kanye did with his Graduation album!:dance2:
I have the Mi Reflo/Christmas (sp?!) and Stripped DVDs. Didn't know the BTB one is out yet. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, she said that the look is inspired by Andy Warhol and Pop Art and wants to portray that. I don't like Kanye West personally, or his music, but I think the sets and stage designs will work. Christina would MAKE it work haha.

Nice thread intro:hugesmile:
I love Christina Aguilera! Her voice is incredible and I love how she re-invents herself and her music each time. My favourite era is probably the Stripped era, but my favourite album is Back To Basics. I've never seen her live but I would if she came to Cardiff, I have the Back To Basics (Live & Down Under) tour DVD though. I'm looking forward to her next album, I read somewhere that it's partly inspired by pop-art so it should be interesting.

Love Christina Aguliera. Stripped is my favourite album as I can listen to nearly all the songs on it. I've never really listened to BTB but my WMP was on shuffle and 'Hurt' came on and then 'Welcome' and they're incredible! Definitely going to listen to that more. Can't wait for her new album.

SonyBMG have scheduled a new single from Christina Aguilera for September to be released worldwide, at the same time everywhere. Latest reports claim the album is indeed Greatest hits release featuring new songs "Keep Getting Better," rumoured first single produced by Linda Perry, and another new track called "Dynamite," and more. There will also be a DVD with a compilation of the music videos which she has had along her career.
If that wasn't enough, She will be releasing her next album after GH release and is planning a secret performance somewhere soon.

EDIT: I get it! She's releasing a new album and a GH! YAY!

Ooh, Aussie singer, Sia, says she's writing with her!
Like Tim Armstrong and Pink, Gwen Stefani and the Neptunes, and many other seemingly mismatched musical pairings, Sia and Christina Aguilera will join forces, with Sia lending her songwriting skills -- and buckets of much-needed depth, humanity, and indie cred -- to the soulful pop diva's forthcoming record.
"I'm going to write with Christina Aguilera in mid-September for her next album," Sia told SPIN.com in a video interview (which you can see here in the coming days) at Philadelphia's Download 2008 this past weekend. "It might not work, she might not like any of the stuff I write, and it may not make the cut, but I'm pretty excited about it -- I think she's rad!"
Sia, who is also slowly constructing the follow up to her 2008 album Some People Have Real Problems, says she and Aguilera have yet to meet, but have talked about the collaboration over the phone, and that, "She was like, 'I'm into you and I'm interested to step into your world,' and I was like 'Cool!'" Indeed!
Sia and Aguilera's reps did not return requests for comment by press time.

Christina Aguilera is back at work on a new album, but 7-month-old son Max Liron is never far from her mind.
"[He is] amazing, incredible," the singer, 27, tells Entertainment Tonight. "He just lights up my whole world every day with his laughs and his smiles."
She reveals that Max has started crawling and is cutting his first teeth.
"He's a mover and shaker. He's just a smiley, happy guy. I really lucked out," Aguilera tells USA Today, adding that on Labor Day, she and husband Jordan Bratman, 31, took Max to the superhero exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for "his first museum experience."
Aguilera is looking forward to having more children – someday. "I definitely want to expand our family eventually, but for now, Mommy's going to work," she tells ET.
Aguilera, who just launched her first fragrance, Inspire, is prepping for her next album, due in 2009. It's full of "space sounds and futuristic things," she tells USA Today. "For this one, we're going into the future."

OMG OMG OMG OMG
So as with SonyBMG, everything is all over the place - but finally we have final confirmation on the new single.
It will be released in Australia at a “TBA” time for radio ONLY on Tuesday September 9th 2008 - obviously to now factor in her performance of the single at the MTV VMA’s in the US (Australia is almost 24 hours ahead).
It has also now been listed on the SonyBMG Australia release schedule as “Single 1″ - which is NOT the name of the single, as this information is being held very secret to Christina’s camp, possibly to stop a leak from occurring before this time. The single will NOT be available for digital download on this date, and currently has a “TBA” for this. Chances are, and in line with other SonyBMG big releases such as Pink’s So What, the single will be for download on iTunes within 3 or 4 days from radio play - meaning the Saturday following, so that all downloads can be included in the ARIA chart.
This is all the information that is available at this time - but even if it leaks, all media in Australia is a no go. Below is a copy of part of the international embargo that SonyBMG is now getting media outlets to sign.
An international embargo from RCA/SonyBMG “prohibits the unauthorized broadcast of the new Christina Aguilera single until SonyBMG agrees that it can be broadcast. Any breach of this condition will incur penalties set by SonyBMG”.

SO excited.
I LOVE how none of her work gets leaked; unlike most other artists.
I can't wait for this.

Target and Target.com will be the sole retailers to carry Christina Aguilera's first greatest hits collection, "Keeps Gettin' Better -- A Decade of Hits," due Nov. 11 via RCA.
The set will include a pair of new songs, "Dynamite" and the title track, plus re-recorded versions of her prior hits "Genie in a Bottle" and "Beautiful."
Fans will receive a free download of "Keeps Gettin' Better" when they pre-order the CD beginning Sept. 30 via target.com/music. The track goes to top 40 radio on Sept. 22.
The collection will contain all four of the pop star's No. 1 hits: "Genie," "Come on Over (All I Want Is You)," "What a Girl Wants" and "Lady Marmalade," her collaboration with Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink on a remake of the Labelle classic.
Aguilera joins Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers and John Legend as artists who've released music exclusively through Target in recent years.
The artist is at work on the follow-up to her 2006 album "Back to Basics," but no release date has yet been announced.

According to a Christina Aguilera fansite, Lady Gagahad this to say (to Blender magazine) about their beloved's MTV Video Music Awards performance:
"A lot of people have been saying that she is copying my style with her new song. I guess it bares somewhat of a resemblance but I wouldn't say she is copying me. This type of dance music is becoming more popular and I don't blame her for wanting to make and perform it. Her performance was great and it's (Keeps Gettin Better) a hot track."

OMGz! Xtina copied Lady GaGa!
...obviously not.
I don't want to argue with any Britney fans here ( I am one ), but I do think that the look was supposed to be superheroes/villains and I might be wrong but the style might have refered to the lyrics a little,
next day I'm your Super Girl
out to save the world
and it keeps gettin better
Could be a conicidence though ?

I think I posted a video somewhere that compares her outfit to superheroes.
tbh, I think Xtina looks more like Black Cat from Spiderman as opposed to Lady Gaga.
and I love this song SO much. Imagine if it had been released the same week as 'Quicksand' there would be so many arguments when one did better LOL

Stripped is my fave album, she puts so much emotion into it, loads of her songs bring me to tears. Of the BTB album, the 2nd cd is better than 1st cd and on that one, The Right Man makes me cry - seriously! gets me every time. I agree, she is one of the best if not The Best, female artists of all time.

Love the cover, she looks stunning, can't wait to get this, I've never bought an Xtina album before (I know! Shame on me.) so this is great, I'll just buy this but like KKBL said I think more than 12 songs should be on this.

Am I the only person that thinks it's a good move to only put 12 songs on?
If she had put every song she'd released on there, not many people would buy it because most Xtina fans already have most of them.
However, by making a short GH album, the remastered tracks stand out because it looks like there's more [whereas if you had 20 tracks, 3 would look pathetic] and it fits with the theme of her next album; 'short and sweet'.
Also it's called a Greatest hits for a reason. Not 'Every hit', Greatest hits :]

Christina Aguilera has insisted that there is no rivalry between her and Britney Spears.
Both popstars are preparing comeback records, but Aguilera claimed that she is solely focused on her own album.
She told Metro: "I've been so sort of in my own creative cave.
"But it's a great feeling to still be in the game with somebody that you have known for so many years, even going back to the Mickey Mouse club. We had so much fun together.
"At this stage in our lives, we are so different I don't think you can put us in the same ballpark."
Aguilera added that she has no plans to tone down her raunchy dance routines, despite becoming a mother.
"If it happens to be raunchy, so be it! It's a matter of self expression to me," she said.

Christina Aguilera has said that she is already thinking about expanding her family.
The popstar, who gave birth to son Max in January, claimed she would "definitely" have more children with husband Jordan Bratman in the future.
"How many? I don't know. We'll play it by ear," she told People.
Aguilera, 27, also admitted that she is finding it hard to separate her roles as a mother and a performer.
She said: "I'm in love with my life. But Mama has to work, Mama has to do a job.
"I think it's important to share what I love - what makes me me - with my son. So. I change diapers and I breastfeed him and I play with him and then I work.
"I want to show Max everything about me."

DS gave Keeps Gettin' Better a great review!
Ever since Britney went into meltdown in 2007, fellow pop divas have had to up their games to earn our attention. Prancing around in leather and talking about her "naked Sundays" used to earn Christina Aguilera plenty of red top coverage, but unless she decides to walk through Trafalgar Square in a bikini in her next video, she's always going to look tame in comparison to her fellow Mickey Mouse Club alumnus.
It's nice to report, therefore, that 'Keeps Gettin' Better' is a treat for the ears rather than the eyes. A welcome departure from the hammy jazz sound of her Back To Basics LP, this Linda Perry-penned track is an electropop stomper built around some second-hand Goldfrapp synths and Christina's husky cry of "Some days I'm a super-b**ch!" While it may not generate the same headlines as 'Womanizer', it's more than a match on musical terms.

Christina talks about Brtiney:
They started off their showbiz careers together in the Mickey Mouse Club, but what followed was years of rumoured feuding and high-profile chart battles. Britney and Christina have never been the best of friends, but that hasn't stopped the latter speaking out about her childhood pal. "When we both started releasing records, it was a funny time for me," explains Christina, "It must have seemed as if we were competing with each other, but, in reality, Britney is someone that I used to hold hands with. What a journey it has been for both of us!" The girls, who are now both mothers, have both experienced their own controversies (maybe Britney a tad more) and now Christina seems keen to put all their past troubles behind her. "There have been so many stories about the two of us not getting on," says the Candyman singer, "I don't pass any judgment on what she does. I always wish her all the best." Awww, isn't it nice when celebs are pleasant about each other? It certainly makes a change from the usual sniping – although, we admit, we do love a bit of sniping... Maybe Brit and Christina will even do a duet some time? Keep your fingers crossed, people!

Christina's to work with Goldfrapp!!!!!
Christina Aguilera is lining up electronic-oriented artists such as Sia Furler, Goldfrapp and Ladytron to collaborate with her on her fourth studio album, which she'll continue to work on in 2009.
In a teleconference with reporters, Aguilera acknowledged influence on "You Are What You Are," a moody, ambient remake of her hit "Beautiful" from the upcoming "Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits" and confirmed the Zero 7 associate and solo artist will be working with her on the new album.
"I'm definitely a fan of Sia's," said Aguilera, who previously told Billboard about her desire to pursue a more "futuristic" sound on the album. "I was thrilled she also wanted to work together and, in turn, was a fan of mine."
Aguilera said the two plan to hit the studio in January but are "setting the wheels in motion now ... I'm not exactly sure what we're gonna get when we get in the studio together, but (as) with all great things I'll go in and there's probably magic to be had."
Aguilera said she's been listening to "a lot" of Sia, Goldfrapp and Ladytron during the past year, which impacted not only "You Are What You Are" but also the "Genie in a Bottle" revamp "Genie 2.0" and the two new songs on "Keeps Getting Better": the title track and "Dynamite."
As for other collaborators on the album, which will follow-up 2006's "Back to Basics," Aguilera said there's "nothing I can give away now, but there's always somebody that I'm inspired by to work with. I have to keep under wraps who that would be, just 'cause I always like the element of surprise."

To say that Christina Aguilera has had a remarkable career is an understatement. The chart-topping songstress is now a bona-fide brand and arguably the heir to Mariah Carey's R&B throne.
While fans eagerly await a new record -- tipped as "futuristic" and perhaps marking a return to dance-floor bangers such as "Dirrty" -- Xtina today (Nov. 11) releases a greatest-hits collection, "Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of Hits," exclusively through Target and the retailer's website.
Pop & Hiss had a five minute chat via phone with the "Beautiful" singer late last week, when she shared a few thoughts on the last decade. Suffice it to say, this new mother is not looking back in anger.
How does it feel to release a greatest-hits package already? You’ve had such a remarkable career, yet it doesn’t feel like you’ve been here a decade.
I feel so fortunate. I can’t believe it’s been a decade already. It’s not that new to me to revisit my catalog because on tour I do reinvent old hits of mine and sort of give them a new life. But hearing the original versions in their radio form, was a trip down memory lane for me. It’s kind of crazy!
Is there any one of your older songs that you feel especially attached to?
There’s definitely one with extra sentimental value for me.
(More after the jump)
Hindsight being 20/20, are there any tracks you wish you could have worked with different producers on?
Well, it’s hard to say that because the music was perfect for the time where I was at as an artist. As a new artist at the time, I thank God for the songs I recorded because they allowed me to explode onto the scene. They allowed me to live my lifelong dream. I can’t knock that whatsoever. Would I record those songs the way I did then? No (laughs). But it was great for the time being. I look back at all those songs feeling very accomplished. You know? This is a time when I’m a completely different person inspired by new things.
Any cringe moments looking back a decade?
Sometimes, you have to have a good laugh and be able to reinvent some of the old songs. The direction I’m going musically now is completely different. It’s rewarding for me to be able to know that I have this material to release and that the fans have backed me through all the changes so it’s been really fun for me to look back at the past.
Why did you choose to work with Target for the greatest-hits exclusive? Did you approach them? Or did the retailer reach out to you?
A little bit of both. It was the perfect choice for me. When I’m traveling on tour, one of my favorite things to do is to throw a baseball cap on and go to a Target. The company has always been good to me. They’ve got such a great creative team. I’ve worked with a lot of different brands, and sometimes they get it creatively, sometimes they just don’t. Target is one of the best at really listening to the artist and understanding what they are about.
What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?
You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.

Christina speaks out about Prop 8:
Christina Aguilera has spoken out in support of gay marriage, saying legislation to stop it is "unfair".
The singer insisted that same-sex couples should be given the freedom to wed.
"They're constantly pushing to be heard and given equal rights. I think there's a lot of unfairness that goes along with being gay, so the more I can give them a voice, then I'll do so," she told the Daily Record.
"But I also think we'd be fooling ourselves if we thought that everywhere was accepting of gay rights and gay marriage.
"I think that it's unfair there has to be some kind of standard for marriage. Marriage should be about celebrating two people's love for each other. It shouldn't have anything to do with someone's sexual preference."
Legislation was recently passed in California banning same-sex couples from getting married. Proposition 8 restricts the definition of 'marriage' to a union between a man and a woman.
"Europe is a lot more open when it comes to sexuality. I think that with the history of European culture, there is a lot more openness to being provocative," Aguilera added.

Christina to design a clothing range for TopShop.
Here’s a sprig of festive gossip to make Britney Spears and the rest of the fashion wannabes turn Green with envy.
I hear billionaire Sir Philip Green has been courting Brit’s old rival Christina Aguilera to design new ranges for his TopShop empire.
Aggy could expect to earn around £1million per range ...very nice work if you can get it.
However, there’s no whisper from my that Christina will replace Kate Moss – his most successful signing. Instead, Christina, 28, will be brought in to create her own additional lines to sell alongside Kate's.
The source told me: “Sir Philip has started talks with Christina and hopes to sign a deal soon. She has visited his offices in London and they are thrashing out the details.
“Philip loves her style and believes she would add something new to TopShop. Christina is the blonde bombshell who is into pop whereas Kate is the rock chick and model.

"She’d appeal to a younger shopper than Kate."

Haha I went looking for this thread and automatically went back pages, cos I'm not used to it being on the first page lol!
Anyway looks like the TopShop range was just a rumor:
Christina Aguilera has not been approached to design a new clothes range for the High Street store Topshop, Gigwise can exclusively reveal.
Media reports today (December 28th) claimed the singer was on the verge of signing a multi-million pound deal with owner Sir Phillip Green.
However, a spokesman for Topshop exclusively told Gigwise that the reports were “complete speculation”.
He added: “Topshop are not in discussion with any celebrity or artist to create new ranges for us."
The report in the Daily Mirror newspaper claimed Aguilera was being lined up to design a series of ranges in addition to supermodel Kate Moss.
Moss has reinvigorated Topshop’s sales since she began working on fashion lines for the company in May last year.
But Topshop’s spokesman, Andrew Leahy, said the retailer intended to “focus on working with the best of Britain’s emerging fashion designers.”
Aguilera has already released three fragrances and earlier this year inspired a jewelry range by designer Stephen Webster.

Just to let all know, Falling In Love Agin won't be on the soundtrack. Sot eh only hope for a HQ version as of now is if it's released on iTunes which is extremly unlikely or that she's saving is for the new album which is almost certainly not going to happen as she tends to avoid covers for her album and doesn't features songs she does for movies.
So I guess we're going to have to wait for the DVD to come out then someone will rip it.

Haha in school today someone was playing KGB on their iPhone and I starting telling them about my obsession and hoe great this song was and that song is, ect. Then this girl just says "Yes Gary so you've told us sooo many times! Wanna kepp going for time 101?!?!"

I'm glad there's not a video or anything, it creates hyp for new album. I'm even a little pissed she's left releasing Dynamite so long. When the lead single for the new album instead of people saying "Ooh Christina's back", it's gonna be "Another single and video from Christina".

I 'spose.
I'm just scared people are gonna abandon her like they have been.
I mean, idc about chart positions.
I think that Christina's control over her OWN career is always gonna hinder her success because she creates music she likes as opposed to what the public will like.
But it'd be nice to have people stop comparing her success to other artists.

^ that's so cute!!
I wish they'd do something together this year, even if it wasn't a song, an interview or photoshoot or something.
If they did, it might show the fans there's no.. maliciousness between them? &might stop the negative comparing.

Do Christina fans go after Britney as much as Brit fans do Christina? I don't go on Christina forums so I don't know how it is with them. On Exhale there's signatures and everything lol.

Honestly, I'm not just being biased, but there's barely ANY sorta hate for Britney.
The official Xtina forum even has an official Britney Spears thread lmfao.

I do understand that Britney fans are protective/defensive but there's rarely hate from Christina fans unless it's retorting? Hehe.
Can always check the official forum if you wish

New photo shoot and talk about new music:
AGUILERA GOES RETRO: Christina Aguilera tested the versatility of the little black dress last week at a shoot in Santa Monica, Calif., for jeweler Stephen Webster’s spring ad campaign, which will break in April fashion magazines. She sported different dark frocks that ran the gamut from sequined to feathered for the six images, three of which feature Webster’s fine jewelry line and three from his silver line. “This campaign has a new look that also reflects the direction I am going in with my music,” explained Aguilera, who is to begin work on her new album early next year. “The last campaign was very Hitchcock and film noir inspired. The new look is more futuristic glam that pulls from the Sixties and Seventies era that has been inspiring me lately.” The ad concept, shot by Craig McDean, is intended to match Webster’s jewelry, according to the designer. “It’s not the most girly looking collection. I’ve never really done that very well anyway,” he said, adding the edgy style fits with Aguilera’s personality. “She’s feisty, and I think that kind of comes [across in the ads],” said Webster.

I did have one a couple of years ago, but it was crap, just an unofficial one. I was a bit too young for the only official one she;s ever done, as it was a bit raunchy.:

Didn't you say the single was July? I swear I heard somewhere the new album was March
Christina I think is one of the very few artists where I can listen to every song on every album.

Well I'm almost sure I heard the album's dropping in June so single will probs be early June. She said the summer and thats what most the fans think.
Oh and I literally don't think there is a single Christina song I dislike.
