Coming to think of it I'm actually so pissed that my school is withholding results for my science GCSE while everybody else on here and in other schools in Wigan knows their results

Well done Will, Cal and Tom! Should all be proud of yourself! Well done to Dan's sister too. Can't believe I made this thread 6 years ago when I was doing them
These were my results from 6 years ago:
Italian- A*
RE- A
English Language- B
English Lit- B
History- B (they marked it wrong when it first came and it was there as a D)
Maths- C
Double Science- C
Business- E (hated it!)
To think since then I have done college and finished uni last year!
Any of you lot heading to college then? What you thinking of doing? And you thinking whether you're heading to uni?
Again, well done everyone :D

Thank you, I'm shocked at my Business result, we did a Mock in March and I got a U, I lied to my teacher saying I got an E because she asked for the results in class, so should we never find out.
And then I got a C in the real thing.
Yep going to college to do level 3 Media and Production, I want to do Journalism. I already for Reality Box which is brilliant. Not sure if I will go to university, my family's had enough of paying school fees I think.
If I was a wreck awaiting for these results, I don't even want to know what I'll be like next year [emoji23][emoji23]
Thank you all
Will.

On Business and ICT I got 68%, that 2% for the B's.
I got a C
Well done chick<3

Lmao I got an A on Business and people (1st section of business studies - 25%).
Ive not got above a D on that part ever, clearly had a very generous marker for Business Studies.

Thank you! I'm actually heading into Year 11 - but we had to do our Science GCSEs this year (there's another 3 next year tho) so we've just got our results for them (I presume that's the case for me and Tom anyway). But thank you! I'm heading off to college to do my A-Levels I think, then will be doing 2 years of an animal care course followed by 5 years of a vet course:sleep:

Do you guys think I should get Bus.. ICT and RE marked to get the extra 2 marks for a B! Or is it not worth it?
Daniel-X
20-08-2015, 12:50 PM
Yeah I'm heading into Y11 also and I cannot begin to imagine what it feels like on this day. I had to do one of my science GCSE's this year and then I have my other science GCSE next year. Originally I was meant to be doing English Lit this year also but the results were dissapointing from last years Y11 results when they did it in Y10 so we're doing ours next year instead. Then I'm onto college doing English Lit, Politics, Spanish and Drama
Will.

they've got my Science coursework grade wrong, it was a B not a C (38/50). So I should have a C for Science as 2 high D's and a C and a B gets a C overall.
and on geography it says I got 104/104 when there were questions I didn't even answer, messy.

lol I know, still baffled on how I got it, I was reading on BBC News that a lot of schools are surprised with the results with Maths, many results not reflecting the ability of the student.
I still have no idea how I got 65+, it really isn't possible lol.

Yeah. I mean a lot of them wanted A's, but pretty much lost hope once they did the paper, as this years Maths paper was harder than previous summers I thought. Majority got high B's, which is good. There were about 6 A's, which I was happy with, and only 2 C's. There was a student who was 1 mark of an A, so we're getting his paper remarked :fc:
That's good to hear! <3 I was really shocked to get an A because I'd never got an A in any mocks before for Maths and I came home from the exam gutted that I did badly because of how hard it was  I was so surprised seeing that A

Thanks. I wanted a B as its my target but I'm okay with a C. I think im probably not too bothered as one of my teachers who teaches me physics and half of chemistry had three months off so we had supplies for all that time. Most either got C's or D's nobody got higher than a C
C in Biology, B in Chemistry, C in Physics, A* in my ica (?) and overall grade of a B tbh x

Great courses  I've done a full creative media course, and this year I finished it with a full extended diploma, honestly it was a great course it took a while as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in the future but it helped in showing me what I enjoy and don't.
And this year i'm taking a business course because I think it'll be useful for my future when I go to uni either next year or the year after.

I'm thinking about Creative Media Production, Media Studies and Business Studies, are they any good?

I haven't started business yet so I can't answer that one but Creative Media is great in school it was pretty crap as they didn't have the cash to support it but with all the resources they have at college there were a lot more opportunities, what part of creative media are you interested in?

I've just finished my first year of AS Media Studies and Business Studies, and I really enjoyed the media course but Business was by far my least favourite, and even though I got an A in it I'm dropping it this year (luckily I got A's in my other 3 otherwise I'd probably feel obliged to stick with it even though I hate it ) but it just depends on who you are tbh, like I know lots of people who love Business and hate media. Personally for me I didn't feel like Business taught me that much, it felt more like a "general studies and some maths" course instead

My first exam is today, Biology. I'm not feeling too bad but its not my strong suit so I don't expect to do too well on it.

Good luck stunning!
Thank you all <3 I thought I done really well on the exam if i'm honest. I'm not good at Science at all but this was definately the best exam i've done for it. There was just this one question where I stupidly missed it out because I didn't notice this box where you had to put an arrow in, but its only 1 mark lost and hopefully shouldnt affect anything.
Next one is Chemistry on Thursday. I'm feeling very confident.

Didn't know where to put this but got my AS results this morning:
A - Sociology
B - English Language & Literature
D - Religious Studies
Would've been thrilled if it wasn't for the D, don't know whether to be over the moon or cry.

Literally wondering if my second answer booklet in the first exam didn't get sent off, it had like half my paper in it. I felt more confident in my RS exams than either of my sociology or English exams too, and revised more. **** knows.

Well done Daniel! Can you not get your papers back or something?
Results day this time next week, i'm not scared but it could go either way really. All I can say is that I tried my best and its not the end of the world if I don't do as well as I can always try resitting what I need (I know im going to have to resit Maths because I flopped so hard)
I think the fact that the Grade Boundaries have lowered makes me feel a little bit more confident but I don't know what subjects its for.
Morgan.

I'm terrified for results day. I had a flush of excitement after they lowere boundaries then I realised I felt most confident with Geography and Maths - my worst subjects :skull:
I know I've already got my Distinction in Business, my Merit in Performing Arts and my B in Core Science in the back because we got those last year - that's 3 I suppose :joker:

I know it’s not technically GCSE but I’ve started my assignment for BTEC Health and Social, writing about Nikki and her anorexia and how it affected her pies :)

my younger brother is doing his national 5s rn and his persuasive piece was on care homes, so he was asking me and my family if we could help, so i gave him the link to Jayne Connery’s video on her mum’s care home experience
he got 66%, a B
