For years and years biscuit experts and lovers have been in dispute whether a Jaffa Cake is a biscuit or a cake? What is it?

I see proper cake, cakes in the biscuit aisle all the time... they are cakes, the ingredians prove that.

*Thinks* I am seriously having THIS argument.. LOL

I beg to differ, I just think they are too small to be cakes...

YES JEN THEY ARE CAKES!

when biscuits go stale, they go soft
when jaffas go stale, they go hard
LIKE CAKES DO
BECAUSE THEY'RE MADE FROM EXACTLY THE SAME INGREDIENTS AS CAKES WITH CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE STUFF ON TOP

SAME INGREDIENTS AS CAKE = CAKE

duh

Cake.

I think they are considered biscuits because of size/shape and are a McVities product.

From Wikipedia; "McVities defended its classification of Jaffa Cakes as cakes. In doing so it produced a 12" Jaffa Cake to illustrate that its Jaffa Cakes were simply miniature cakes."

If McVities says they are cakes, they are cakes. :D
