Knew that lightbulb would switch on and you'd get it. And all it took was some drinking

That's basically the reason I'll drink most of the time when out / at a club / etc.. like I don't even care for it but I'll start feeling bored/needing something to do/whatever and a few drinks will reeeeally add to the vibe

I'm soooo confused by what the tweet from the woman means / why it got you drinking. Maybe I need a drink to understand it

Oh and also I saw this tweet, by this woman who was actually a bit of a dumb **** but still: saying something like basically she wasn't going to waste her time by not seeing family and friends (she was kinda old) and I was just like oKAY WHY AINT I DRINKING TONIGHT that inspired me too

I get it (like actually). So even if like one round doesn't go your way in a tournament, it doesn't matter and you don't lose anything and you can win back chips in the next rounds. Ahhh not enjoying the eliminations Omg that's crazy @ 6 hours though or potentially more irl That's insaaaaane. Tournaments do sound super fun though

Yeah I really could have gone for a lot longer because I wasn't even bothered about drinking lol. Just boredom innit. Vodka n coke so I'd say it's pretty good My mom got vodka today too & it was kinda sat there not doing much so I just went for it. Lmaooo yeah totally, I have so much more opinion/expression on everything, even sometimes things I wouldn't think/care about when I'm not drunk ahh

Both are more fun at the casino but when playing online I can mainly only tolerate the tournament games because the elimination factor alone is really fun and otherwise I'll just get bored/impatient after a while playing regular poker on my phone/laptop a lot of the time.

It depends on # of people & the tournament structure that's used but you could literally get knocked out in mins or one round. If you're making it far enough to win $$$ it's kinda in the 3+ hour range or up to like 6+ hours to finish. That's online, in person it takes many hours / sometimes coming back for a second/third day to finish those depending on the setup/structure.

Loool damn @ the quick loss! Oh well is it some good drinks? Worth it? And it's actually so true, sometimes drinking helps you understand things more It like manages to open up your mind or something.

Yeah I think you're getting it So the main difference is in tournaments you're never actually winning/losing any money until you're knocked out of it with 0 chips remaining (or won 1st place) and once you're out it depends on your placing whether you won money or lost whatever tournament buyin $ you put in. Regular poker you're winning/losing money in every single round you play in the game and the pots you win are literally dollar amounts rather than a chip representation.

Ahh okay yeah I get all that. So essentially the chips are all worth different amounts and you play them as you/others want in the tournament? And in regular poker, everyone's money that comes together that is played makes up to be the pot at the end that the winner gets?

How long do tournaments usually take or depends/and where you place? That's a really decent amount of money though

Weird to me how I understand/can concentrate a lot better on things when I'm a little tipsy/drunk. I faaaaailed the challenge lol but in my defense the internet was being an absolute bitch so I thought why not

It's a lot more fun than regular poker for me but that's why it's more time consuming like you can't just leave whenever, you're stuck in the game until you're eliminated or you win the whole thing.

Nah there can be a big entry price and just few people, it all varies. I've won $100's a loooot of times and $1000+ also plenty of times in my time playing. Prob the main way I've won money in poker/gambling in general lol.

Yeeeeeeah in a regular poker game you're betting your actual money in every round of the game so like if you're sitting at a table with $200, any time a $10 bet is made your $10 is going into that hand and building up the "pot" that you're trying to win. In tournaments everyone just gets a set amount of chips (it's just a random amount that the poker site / casino / whoever's in charge of the tournament decides, which is just the chip equivalent of all your money). So if you're playing a $200 tournament that whole $200 is guaranteed to be played for, you can't just suddenly leave with part of your $200. Either you lose $200 or if you make it to the necessary placement you win some amount $200 or higher which will keep increasing by the more people you outlast.

Yeah that does mostly make sense I don't get how the chips are used though, or what it means... like what are they worth within the game? But I guess the idea is to get as many as possible? And so basically in regular poker you are betting on an individual game/round as opposed to tournament?

Seems like you can get some nice wins on them though Have you won any big ones before? And the smaller the tournament, the smaller the entry price?

It’s a good way to make a lot of money from a little money if you have those big runs for top finishes. A lot of the smaller tournaments will be like $400 for 1st place but with less money risked / less people to beat, it all varies a ton. It’s really fun/exciting tho. I’m explaining quick, let me know if it makes sense

    Will reply to more later
