So in poker, say there's a game with a $400 buy-in, the minimum you can put in every time you get cards is like $5, but other players will probably be raising it to higher amounts if they have any good cards (or want to look like they have good cards and "bluff" people out of the hand that would have won if they played their cards). And the betting rounds go 4 times for every hand. So if you have cards that you want to play with, you'll be betting anywhere within that $5-$400 range throughout the hand but it's up to you and others at the table for how much is bet in total by the end of the hand. Idk if that makes sense It's fun tho, all about the players in poker.

Yeah I get that, my family can get annoying too and living with a bunch of family is even worse cause it's like even while you're just trying to relax at home you end up getting interrupted with a lot of things, whether it's just conversations or to do something. A little calmer now with people staying in each of our rooms a lot for quarantine

Was it $100 in one bet? Most I've bet in a game in one shot was around $500. I remember going crazy with a few sports bets around 3 years back while I was doing REALLY good with gambling (like winning more than I have recently). I made 3 $400 bets in a row, lost 2/3 and then stopped going that high Same with blackjack, around $400-$500 was the highest I used to try in one go. But with poker, buying in for $400 is a lot different than making like 1-5 bets that are worth $400 total in a game like blackjack. In a game for $400 in poker, the $400 can potentially last you a really long time cause you're not required to put any more than a couple of dollars in every round until you like your cards enough to bet more etc.

Omg NOT a couple of hundred $ I think the most I've ever done is £100 but that was sooo scary even. Fun/good hype though especially if it's like a big game or something.
