Yeah, the US is def starting to freak out about it too. Atm I / most people here are still living pretty normally tho, just avoiding certain places. I'm not going to the gym, clubs, bars, etc. at all anymore for like the past week & until this calms down... but also stores are packed & getting emptied, schools are closing, etc., pretty wild. I just heard rumors this morning that we might be going into lockdown in ~a week like Italy Then Trump made some announcement that kinda hinted that too

Biiit paranoid tho cause I have a slight sore throat rn and so did my boss just the other day

And ahhh have you played any more roulette since then? I try to avoid it now because it just robs you over time You should learn poker but it's suuuch a male predominant game idk why. Just need more patience than a lot of the other gambling games but it's really the only way to make money gambling long-term if you learn it well.

Wowwww that’s insane. It seems like every day it’s getting worse and there are more cases/the whole world is freaking out about it. What are they gonna make the people do that have it though? Like literally never leave the house?

MESS @ the Coronavirus ruining all the gambling (talking of that, I’ve been playing a bit on roulette lately and won £20 so far ****ed it up today though and lost £30 )

It’s going to be soooo crazy if that happens. I’ve even seen people saying they’ve been working from home... I hope the government start giving us all free money or something

Ahhhh I’m excited to watch later!!! Have your clocks gone back/forward yet or was it just random that it started early tonight?

WELP I feel like things are actually starting to go crazy in the US tonight @ the corona virus. All flights to/from US/Europe is officially banned. Tom Hanks & another celeb tested positive for it. This guy Rudy Gobert on a basketball team was tested positive for it before a game, they cancelled that game and from what I'm reading I think the WHOLE team & staff could have it NOW the NBA Commissioner just suspended the entire NBA season for now after they found this out. Crazy

Also my boss was talking earlier today how he thinks all businesses etc. should get shut down by the government and how it might just happen soon.

Survivor was preeeetty great. Good swap episode, fun seeing the new tribes

Yeah I've heard about Italy, there were loads of Italians at my last hostel It's literally mad... today I saw queues of people outside of Superdrug and Boots (both sort of like pharmacy stores) waiting to buy hand sanitizer It could get sooo messy if it goes too far and everyone overreacts and everything closes though like shops/supermarkets/schools etc. There are like 91~ people in London with it I think and I see more people with masks on every day

Ugh I was going to actually watch Survivor live tonight and I just realised it started earlier than previously

Omg that look is SO classy, I love it It looks like it would be super chill and relaxing to stay there. Ours are just like... basic tbh. Just rooms with chairs/tables but nothing special

Oh I always assumed that it was full of flags there I mean like in London it's not common at all to see English/British flags because it's so multi-cultural and there are loads of foreigners who live here, so you see wayyy more like random Brazilian/Romanian and all those flags than our own cus people think otherwise it's like saying we don't want them here It's soooo dumb

Yeahhh that's pretty crazy! People aren't going crazy about it just yet here but I do think it's getting there. I heard Italy has everyone like on lockdown? Daaamn... Around here people are starting to talk about shutting down schools tho (like having classes all online) and also sports teams are going to start playing without any fans in attendance

Not toooo many people have it yet. I think like 20-30 total in NJ and I thiiiink a few hundred in NY now tho. But it's spreading

Most diners just have kind of a basic/elegant look now, not such an American vibe and also those are more of the classic-look diner which are pretty rare these days. I did go to one of those like a few months back tho.

The more modern ones are kinda something like this, similar to what you'd see in a restaurant too:

Nah I don't see the USA flag almost anywhere especially not huge like that across a wall. I think some areas do have flags around a lot but it's prob more of a southern/Texas thing and not something I see all over around here. Ahhh how would the US flag be racist?

Teri Teri was solid, has this grilled chicken/rice/salad platter with teriyaki sauce. Tasty & felt semi-healthy

Also, is the Coronavirus as big of a deal over there right now as it is in the UK? My mom texted me saying that they might stop all public transport here at some point... like WHAT the actual hell

What do they look like now then? I did think that's just basically how all the diners in America would look like I know y'all have the USA flag up everywhere though right? People are scared to do it here in case it gets considered as racist

That's a mess @ basically a double tip. I actually know of a few places here that do 'service charge' which is essentially the same as adding it to the bill but they're very rare... I feel like restaurants are already expensive enough without adding tips

The only one that stays open here for most of the night is McDonalds I think, then there's like one Starbucks that I know does but that's it

    How was Teri Teri?

Omg I KNEW they were gonna be OTT / overly stereotyped over there Most diners don't look anything like that anymore. But nice @ even throwing in the US flag. And that type of classic look is nice, more diners should still look like that Most people I know tip but some people don't, especially if the service is bad and they're mad about it. So it's not required but still a bit rare to not tip.. it'd just basically look rude here. Sooome places put in a required tip though, like they just automatically add like a 15% tip to the bill ffs And these days almost all delivery fast food places auto-add a delivery fee when you order. And then I usually give a tip on top of that anyway because sometimes it's not clear if the fee even goes to the driver so I'd feel bad if it didn't

Yeah some diners are definitely open until like 3AM and stuff like that. Even some 24/7 spots I'm pretty sure and it's definitely like that for certain fast food chains too.
