I'm sorry, but I don't understand your logic.

A man, safe in his own country, was chopped to bits in cold blood in a busy street full of other innocent bystanders.

Regardless of other atrocities on the world, this is horrific and terrifying!

That's not what I said ..... :nono:

I said "The "fanatic" is surprisingly black and well-spoken" ..... :idc:

At 1930, the news program I was watching described a "terrorist" attack having taken place in Woolwich where one of the assailants (no ethnicity or race mentioned) had been shouting incoherently except for one phrase "Allahu Akbar”, which, AFAIK, is an Islamic phrase which Muslims use, meaning "God is great".

I was therefore surprised when, later, linked on this site to a video which showed a black man speaking English very well* (or with "reason") when most of Britain's Muslims are of Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi origin or ethnicity and such extremists as belong to those origin/ethnicities are frequently portrayed as being lacking in English language communication and presentation skills **.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22624100

* "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," said the Woolwich attacker who spoke with a London accent. "I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same."

** See Parviz Khan link in post #281.

Now explain your remark, as I requested, please ..... :pipe:

I couldn't believe on the news, the lady walking by him with a shopping trolley as he spoke to the bus passengers covered in blood holding 2 machetes... totally surreal.

Yeah, she seemed completely oblivious, or just desperate to get home for her cup of tea... She certainly didn't seem interested in anything going on around her!

Yeah, many aspects of this "terrorist incident" are not what we have become "used to" ..... :idc:

Woolwich attack: chilling echoes of a previous plot?

http://www.channel4.com/news/woolwic...-previous-plot
Quote:

In 2007 anti-terror officers uncovered a plot in Birmingham to kidnap and behead a serving British, Muslim soldier.

For six months, under the codename Operation Gamble, detectives had been investigating a group of men from Birmingham whom they suspected of a gruesome plot - to kidnap and behead a British soldier. The leader of the group was a 37 year old from Alum Rock named Parviz Khan. The group of plotters was mainly composed of Muslims of Pakistani origin.

The security services had placed a bug in the home of Khan, and this provided much of the evidence in the case. In court, a jury heard that Khan's motive was to undermine the morale of the British Army and to inhibit the recruitment of Muslims.

In one of the recordings, Khan was heard outlining his plan to co-defendant Basiru Gassama: "We give the judgment... well then cut it (the head) off like you cut a pig, man.

On 31 January 2007, just before 4:00 am, 100s of officers raided eight homes and four businesses, including a corner store, two Islamic bookstores and an internet cafe.

Nine men were arrested, six were later charged. Parviz Khan went on to admit the plot and was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 14 years.

Parviz Khan taught sons: This is how you slit the throats of your enemies

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...-taught-294158

Quote:

Parviz Khan, 37, was secretly taped at home telling Ibrar, five: "What do you do with these people? How do you kill them? Cut their neck. Show me."

The dad of four was heard praising his son for making a throat-slitting gesture, telling him: "Good."

Khan was also overheard asking the lads: "Who do you love?" They chanted: "Sheikh Osama bin Laden" and "Sheikh Abu Hamza".

He asked "Who do you hate? Who do you kill?" One son yelled: "America, I kill. Bush, I kill. Blair, I kill."

Khan was also recorded boasting of how he planned for three-year-old daughter Samian to travel to Afghanistan when she grew up so she could marry a mujahadeen and give birth to a third generation of fanatics.

Makes me feel sick that someone who would risk his life for this country can be cowardly murdered by a couple of wasters in daylight. i've heard so many awful stories in my life but this will stay with me forever, i feel nothing but pure hate for them.

What?
Inform what he said couldn't be classified as "Semi True"

He has a point about how what the witnesses just saw, as horrible as it is.... is what kids and Women have to see everyday in other parts of the world... and alot of it due to UK Soldiers. He's right about the Government and Army involvement in certain countries. He's just an animal for feeling the need to prove his point the way he did and makes his points redundant.

Without the Army in those countries that stuff would be happening on a larger scale.. so no he doesn't really have any point, blaming our Soldiers is just defecting any kind of responsibility, he's basically saying we shouldn't have a Government and the irony in the countries which they talk about are so ****ed up because they aren't governed probably

lostalex 23-05-2013 05:35 AM

What a shocking attack. It's also crazy to see him just standing there afterwards talking to people, not even trying to escape. He's standing like he hasn't done anything wrong, he had every right. He clearly has no regret at all.

By this terrorist's logic i have a right to kill every muslim, because muslims attack homosexuals every day, so i guess i have a right to butcher every muslim I see in the street. An attack on 1 homosexual is an attack on all homosexuals, right?

What an evil piece of ****.

I don't understand how members of the public seeing this poor young man hacked to death by these two madmen could calmly walk up to them and engage in dialogue . Especially as they still had bloodied Meat cleavers in their hands.

In fact the whole incident is shocking on so many levels one does not even know where to start dissecting this...

I like most people in this Country am in a state of shock...!!!

The whole thing is beyond belief when you watch the footage, shock is the word to describe how a great many must feel.
Sick is what I feel too.
I just keep thinking of the Soldier and his family, what a horrific nightmare for him to have had to endure and then his family to live with for the rest of their lives knowing what happened.

From what I understand one of the women was on the bus, as she thought the man on the floor had been involved in a road accident she got off the bus and went to help him, it was at this point she realised the men had little axes, and knifes, and at that point she engaged them in dialogue, she is a very brave lady indeed.

Unless faced with such a situation, it's pretty impossible to know what you would do I think. Such an absolute horrific sight to be faced with. I pray I never experience it but I can't say if I would have done anything differently to what the people yesterday did...your body acts in a funny way when faced with such extremes. There were some very brave people from what I have seen talking to knife, axe and gun wielding perpetrators.

People get "shell-shocked" or confused, perhaps they didn't know what had truly happened, I think, until later. And I mean that in terms of who was lying on the ground behind the culprit. Still, Good God, a meat cleaver and chef's blade is the perfect reason to steer clear of *any* one. The man obviously wasn't coming off a fish-gutting expedition.

More word will come tomorrow, as news goes, there is more to this story. The "suspects" will be questioned, and hopefully brought to proper justice.

<feels nauseous>

you don't need to understand my logic, no one is safe in there own country!
its only that these types of murders don't happen that often it gives you a sense of being safe.

Eh?

Logic dictates the rarity of these events, proves we're generally safe in the UK.

This murder doesn't prove your point, it proves the opposite.

So you're desensitised to violence? I think that is a big problem in society.
It STILL doesn't make yesterday's murder any less shocking to most of us though.

yes people need to get a grip and sit down and shut up or should we all go and blame some muslim family and burn their house down.

soldiers and their family's know the risks more so in Ireland
I give you know one can be prepared for a killing like this.

Losing a soldier as a result of battle is one thing. Having him hacked to death in a London street is another. I lost my husband as a result of wounds received in Afghanistan. That was hard enough to cope with, I will never get over it, and trust me, although you are aware of the risks you are never prepared to lose the man you love when you still have your whole life in front of you. However, what this soldier's family will have to deal with is beyond my comprehension. They've already seen pictures of his dead body plastered all over the news, flashed all round the Internet, and diminished by people like you who think people should get a grip and come to terms with this kind of atrocity.

Marc 23-05-2013 09:14 AM

I feel sorry for those in the hospital having to treat these evil monsters. Must be difficult to want to keep these guys alive or treat them
