Guernsey-based businessman Ben Steele has confirmed he has held talks over a prospective buy-out of Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds have fit the headlines for the wrong reasons this month after it was revealed they have until the end of January to settle an unpaid tax bill with HM Revenue.

Chairman Peter Ridsdale insists the club will continue to trade as normal, but Steele revealed he has held talks over a possible investment, and has not ruled out a complete takeover.

"I've been talking about making an investment or buying the whole club," he told Guernsey Press.

"Hopefully, we'll get something agreed and we're in the process of starting due diligence.

"We've got lawyers lined up ready and we've got the money ready."

The 32-year-old entrepreneur is reported to have made his fortune in the automobile industry before moving into property development, subsequently making him a multi-millionaire.

So Cardiff could be bought over soon.

Am I alone in my opinion that Andrey Arshavin is a better player than Cesc Fabregas?. Don't get me wrong Fabregas is a good player but I find Arshavin much more exciting to watch and imo has the more complete package and very underrated:).

There are aspects where Fab is better, and there are aspects where Shava is better. I guess it's just a matter of opinion who you think is better.

Fab's a better all-round player, whereas Shava is best on the offence.

IMO, Fabregas is better.

bbfan1991 17-01-2010 05:36 PM

Hey Jason there is some traits that Fabregas has that Arshavin does like his control of the midfield but Arshavin has the skill and the place. No doubt both will improve but their different style of play will benefit the team:).

Not far off us in second;).

30stone 17-01-2010 06:31 PM

Id say Fabregas is better he has everything in his game.
And being only 22 he's still developing.

Arshavin is either amazing, or has a rather quiet game.

-Arsenal are in the market for a new striker, and one of the names on their shortlist is Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, the man who replaced current Gunner Eduardo at Dinamo Zagreb.

-Arsenal have beaten Everton FC to the signature of 17-year-old Bolivian midfielder Samuel Galindo from Real America but manager Arsene Wenger intends to send him out on loan.

-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given a strong hint that he will not allow midfielder Jack Wilshere to join Steve McClaren's FC Twente on loan.

30stone 17-01-2010 06:52 PM

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reiterated his desire to sign a new striker although he is getting nowhere fast in his search.
The Gunners attack has been decimated by injuries this season with the likes of Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner all currently sidelined.

Youngster Theo Walcott has been restricted him to just three starts in the Premier League and Wenger admits he is still seeking a new frontman.

The Arsenal boss said: "Yes, I am still thinking about trying to bring someone in this month, but I must confess I am not very close to doing anything at this moment.

"I am looking at buying strikers because when we started the season we were playing with Van Persie and Bendtner up front.

"But at the moment we don't have either of them, while we are also without Walcott.

"So we are missing those three as we enter a very important period of the season when every point is crucial and can make the difference at the end of a season.

"But right now I am not close because I am yet to find a player who can convince me that he is better than what we have already."

30stone 17-01-2010 06:53 PM

Milos Krasic is easily one of the best players to come out of Serbia. The CSKA Moscow midfielder has shown great talent whilst in the Russian league and is now keen for a move to the English Premier League.

With any player remotely talented, Manchester City immediately swoop with an astounding amount of cash. However, Krasic refused to listen to City claiming he will only listen to offers from Arsenal and Manchester United.

With Arsenal in desperate need of trophies and also carrying the usual phenomenal amount of injuries, a move for the hugely talented 25 year old would be wise.

Novo 17-01-2010 06:53 PM

Wenger should give him to us on loan

Would probably pretty good there, as a sub, good back up since your squad isnt to big.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he's not "conservative" in his transfer plans.

Wenger has reiterated his concern for football's finances. Portsmouth and Crystal Palace have struggled to pay wages, while even Manchester United are trying to restructure their debt.

Wenger, renowned for being unwilling to spend big money on players, said: "I am not conservative. I am realistic. It is different. We spend only the money we get. We have nobody who comes out when you lose £250million and says 'Listen, I make you a cheque' and life goes on. We live in a realistic world."

Asked whether he could envisage a Premier League club filing for bankruptcy, he added: "I am tempted to believe that because once the clubs start to (spend) the television income of the year after and the season tickets of the years after, that's a very dangerous trend. It means if you are not very successful on the pitch you're dead."

I'm hoping for Newc, Boro and Notts Forest to go into the Prem this season.

Would be so epic to have Nottingham Forest back up in the big league.

All charges have been dropped against Thierry Henry for his hand ball against Ireland.

He will not be punished.
