Absolutely Ammi, this whole thing has had me really feeling sick all day thinking about it. His poor family, this must be a totally long and living nightmare for them now.

While what happened is disgusting and I hope that the people involved get tortured and god knows what else, I think it's OTT of the people on Facebook that are saying all Muslims should be kicked out of the country, after all not every Muslim was involved in the attack and it's just a ridiculous statement.

It is wrong to be saying that I agree,it is likely part of the kind of knee jerk reactions that the PM has warned against today.

Marcus. 23-05-2013 06:29 PM

RIP Lee Rigby:(. I cannot imagine what his family/friends/colleagues are feeling right now, my thoughts are with them.

These disconnected and vile extremists bring shame to their religion and do not represent it. Islam is a religion whose rules state that you must not harm or hurt other people.

I feel sorry for the majority of Muslims who are getting tarred with the same brush and who would condemn these attacks.

Marcus. 23-05-2013 07:04 PM

rip R.I.P Lee Rigb treanding

I don't know the details but did they hack him in public? In front of the people? Couldn't someone have thrown something to knock them down?

Ninastar 23-05-2013 09:40 PM

the thing that annoys me is the fact that he said 'an eye for an eye' when if really, if he was truly that bothered, he'd go back to his own country and fight back.

Marc 23-05-2013 09:42 PM

Thankfully I've not yet seen any ignorant stupid people on Facebook

Apparently people thought these two guys were helping him because there was a car crashed on the pavement. So people thought 'okay they're helping him'... until well, it was too late and they noticed. They had a gun too so I think people were too scared.

It's hard to say how anybody might act in that situation

Kizzy 23-05-2013 09:45 PM

This is being discussed on question time now.

As someone else said...his point is perfectly reasonable and I can totally understand the reasonings behind it, but an eye for an eye never works and this is truly just as disgusting as what he is condemning.

Bad Jack ..... I had the courtesy to reply to you but you failed miserably to reply to me ..... :nono:

As I said this afternoon more needs to be done to make young men and their families aware of the need to inform the authorities if they feel they are being targetted by extremist radical groups.
More information needs to be made available to make teachers, friends and families aware of the indications that signal that a young person may have been indoctrinated.

I keep saying it but I feel really sick, this has had my attention most of today.

Since he was named and then the picture too, it just makes the whole thing even more of a tragedy and sickening if that was possible.
