Liverpool are not as good as they think they are and it has been like that for the past 20 years now there are teams now who are at the same standard as liverpool ( or who would be if liverpool didn't have the likes of torres and gerrard ) think torres will be gone in the summer anyway.. Tottenham, City and Villa all deserve to finish above liverpool if everton didn't start the season so badly they would be above them now they can't even reach the europa league final and that says it all really considering fulham are in the final with a harder run against Hamburg, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk and wolfsburg..

Liverpool are a sacrifice the premiership needed for the top 4 to be broken and it's justice really for all the scummy things they have done in the past

Goodbye to liverpool's trophy days and keep Rafa on he is great....

I think Villa should try and bid for Oscar Cardezo of Benfica:D.

Some Liverpool fans need to stop clinging onto history to disguise their failings recently, to have a go at rival fans when they simply just need to look ahead to whats happening now.. thankfully the ones that have sense have already seen the light;).

Manchester United Consider Ambitious Move for £24m Dutch Master

Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to switch his attentions from one Bayern Munich star for another. The Manchester United boss has been furiously chasing French international Franck Ribery for the best part of a year but are apparently more interested in bringing in former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.

The 26 year old Dutch international has been in incredible form this season scoring 20 goals as he helped the German side to within touching distance of a German title (only an incredible series of results can prevent Bayern Munich taking the Bundesliga crown) and a Champions League final against Inter Milan.

After spending two seasons at the Bernabeu where he did his best to prove himself to a succession of managers, Louis Van Gaal elected to snap up the former PSV man for £24m, one of the first signings the Bayern manager completed.

Alex Ferguson: ‘I’d Sign Cristiano Ronaldo For £60m’

Sir Alex Ferguson says the only way he would spend a serious amount of money on a single player would be to re-sign former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The United boss says the inflated price of players in the transfer market does not give a reflection of their true value and that he would not spend over the odds in the summer – except in buying back C-Ron.

“It’s not my way to buy a player for £60m,” Fergie said. “There’s no point pursuing that argument. I would not contemplate signing a player for that amount.”

When asked if he would pay £60m for Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Ferguson answered: “No. I’d pay £60m to take Cristiano Ronaldo back. But that’s it.”

I suspect Ronaldo misses a lot of things about United – when I watch him in action for Madrid, he looks on a different wavelength to all his team-mates, and his body language bespeaks a man who is not content.

Wenger tells Arsenal fans to trust him on transfer policy

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told fans to trust him over their summer market plans.

Wenger has a sizeable budget for new additions - still having not spent the majority of last summer's income from the £37million sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City - the Arsenal boss called for supporters to be patient as the Gunners are linked with a string of names.

"They have to trust us. Historically we have done well on the transfer market," said Wenger.

"Last summer we bought Thomas Vermaelen, nobody knew about him and now he is in the team of the year, so they just have to keep faith in what we do.

"As always we will try to be intelligent, sensible and take care of this club in the right way."

Liverpool Boss Close to Completing £18m Deal: What Will Rafa Do?

DUBAI International Capital are closing in on a £500million buy-out of Liverpool as manager Rafa Benitez prepares to join Juventus.
It will be all change at Anfield over the coming weeks with unpopular American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks relinquishing control and the club being forced to find a new boss.
In fact, the search for a new manager is already under way, with high-ranking Liverpool officials aware that Benitez has verbally agreed to join Serie A side Juventus at the end of the season on a £4.5m four-year deal.

Now it’s just a case of the Italians agreeing compensation with Liverpool for Benitez to end his * six-year reign on Merseyside.

There will also be a major upheaval in the boardroom with DIC, the investment arm of Dubai’s ruling family led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the front runner in the process to agree a deal with Gillett and Hicks.
DIC attempted to purchase the club in 2007 when major shareholder David Moores declared he was open to offers but then former chief executive Rick Parry recommended a sale to the Americans.
They were also in negotiations a year later to buy Gillett’s 50 per cent shareholding only for talks to break down.
Now it could be third time lucky for Sheikh Mohammed, a regular visitor to this country through his passion for horse racing.
DIC will also commit funds to build the much-anticipated new ground and make a considerable sum of money available for transfers.
Prominent in the discussions is DIC chief and self-confessed Liverpool fan Sameer Al Ansari.

Wenger beats the drum as Arsenal target third place

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has called on his team to finish the season in style and secure the third-place finish that will ensure automatic qualification into next season's Champions League.

The Gunners travel to Blackburn today knowing victory will put them out of reach of fourth-placed Tottenham while even a draw should be enough, given Wenger's side superior goal difference to their neighbours.

"We want to win," Wenger maintained. "I will play the team that I think is most efficient and balanced to win the game. To be faithful to what we have done during the season it is important that we finish well, first to be in the top three, then be as close as possible to the top teams. There is still an outside chance they will drop points and that means we can finish within maybe five points of them."

Spurs hero Redknapp: Arsenal kid Wilshere is real deal

Tottenham hero Jamie Redknapp admits he's a fan of Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere.

On-loan at Bolton Wanderers, Wilshere again shone in their 1-0 defeat at Tottenham on Saturday.

Redknapp told the Daily Mail: "Jack Wilshere showed he is definitely Premier League class in north London on Saturday. The 18-year-old, on loan to Bolton from Arsenal, was cool and composed on the ball in the defeat at Tottenham. He's still slight of build but I wonder if Arsene Wenger will now consider his apprenticeship over and graduate him to the first-team squad at the Emirates."

Arsenal boss Wenger rules out move for Blackburn starlet Phil Jones

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for young Blackburn defender Phil Jones ahead of the clash between the two clubs this afternoon.

Blackburn pair Jones and Steven NZonzi were linked with moves to Arsenal last week and the Gunners are almost certain to bring in defenders in the summer.

Wenger said on Jones: "He's had a few good games but we've not made an inquiry about him, I think he is a good player – but not yet. He needs to play longer to really assess him."

On his transfer plans this summer, the Arsenal manager added: "As always we will try to be intelligent, sensible and take care of this club in the right way. One or two will go out, which happens every year, but the first target is to keep the squad together."

Phil Jones has impressed in his seven Premier League appearances in 2009/2010. Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce said any offer would have to be "rather large" for him to sell the 18-year-old.

One defender Arsenal have no problem signing on dotted line

Arsenal are about to offer veteran defender Sol Campbell a one year extension to his contract keeping at The Emirates for one more season. Arsenal manager has been impressed enough with Campbell’s performances both off the field as well as on and will utilise the former England International as a back up to the first team.

Campbell is in his second spell at Arsenal and while some raised eyebrows when Wenger gave Campbell a second chance, the big Englishman has proven his critics right and justified Wenger’s confidence in him.

That said Wenger is still looking high and low for a decent centre back to partner Thomas Vermaelen and he has no intention of using Campbell as a first team player unless absolutely necessary and in all fairness to Wenger, having Campbell as a back up is no bad thing.

All Wenger needs to work on now is securing another old boy, William Gallas to an extension and then the Frenchman will have two back ups for his defence, two very experienced back ups at that.

Arsenal forward Arshavin: "I am going to Barcelona in the summer"

Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has sensationally claimed that he will be joining Barcelona in the summer and that left back Gael Clichy will also join him at the Nou Camp.

Last week Arshavin said "Even playing just one season for Barcelona would make a pinnacle of my whole career."

In the following days the Russian was rebuked by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but The People have carried further quotes where the attacking midfielder says he will be playing at Barcelona next season.

Arshavin told The People: "I am going to Barcelona in the summer. I have always dreamed about going to Spain and playing for the best team in the world. They were unsure about me when I was playing in Russia but I have shown them that I'm the real deal and I know they are ready to talk to me."

The Arsenal forward added: "I want to play for the top team and be trying to win every competition, I don't think you can rate one better than the other, it is all about winning. I want to play for them and that is never going to change."

The former Zenit St Petersburg playmaker added that Arsenal full back Gael Clichy is also eager to move to Barcelona. Arshavin: "I know Gael Clichy would love to play out there as well, and he would work well in their team. It would be tough trying to compete with Xavi and Iniesta but that is the competition I want, I don't want to walk into a team."

Andrey Arshavin has made 36 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: Chelsea's Joe Cole is an interesting target
Gunners boss could make shock move for England star...

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared his interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole this summer.

Cole's contract at Stamford Bridge is up at the end of the season and has reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United and old club West Ham United.

And Wenger admitted he is watching Cole's situation closely but added that strengthening the Gunners' midfield is not a priority.

"Joe Cole is an interesting target, but do I have enough players in those positions? We shall see," said Wenger in the Daily Star Sunday.

"First of all I must say that no matter how much money you spend to find a Patrick Vieira [it is hard to do]. Since I am in England, I hear 'this is the new Patrick Vieira' when a guy is tall and strong.

"But I believe strongly that our midfield are developing very well with [Alex] Song, [Abou] Diaby and Denilson because they are young, very young, but different to Patrick Vieira.

"I believe in them because if you compare them two years ago and this year they are tremendously improved and if they continue to play together, especially with [Cesc] Fabregas, they have a good understanding.

"I believe the midfield was not a problem this year because we created so many chances from midfield and we dominated nearly all the games in midfield. I don't think we had a big problem in there. I believe we had a problem of efficiency defensively."

Manchester City & Arsenal target Mario Balotelli tipped to join "top English club"

The agent of Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli has confirmed that his client will be leaving Inter Milan this summer to join a "top English club,” according to an interview he gave with several Italian newspapers.

Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with the 19-year-old striker who has had a hugely difficult season with the Nerazzurri.

Balotelli has been involved in numerous run-ins with Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho and has also become a target for the club’s fans.

Arsenal Consider Summer Bid to Sign £22m Goal Machine: Wenger Wants Ajax Hotshot Luis Suarez

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly placed Ajax striker Luis Suarez at the top of his summer wish list as he looks to bring in new striking talent to the Emirates. The Uruguayan international has been an incredible success in the Dutch Eredivisie since arriving at Groningen in the summer of 2006.

The 23 year old has helped Ajax to within reach of their first domestic title in six seasons and is sure to be a target of many of Europe’s elite but the north London club apparently wish to arrange a deal before Suarez flies out to the World Cup where he could attract even more interest.

Having managed an amazing 45 goals in 46 matches this season and a total of 98 goals in a little under three seasons at Ajax. The Gunners are looking to broaden their options up front after seeing an injury crisis earlier in the season deeply affect their title chase.

Marouane Chamakh is set to join the club in the summer and the likes of Carlos Vela and Eduardo have been linked with moves away from Arsenal. Wenger is hoping to splash the cash and has been promised significant funds to help rebuild his squad and end their five season silverware drought.

Wow, big player, okay hes not playing in a great league.. but seriously his strike rate is better than the likes of messi ronaldo and rooney.

Im sure wenger could develop him into a massive talent and playign alongside rvp and fabregas hes sure to score.

£20 million Karim Benzema Is Manchester United's Top Summer Target - Report
The Frenchman could be getting ready to leave Real Madrid after only one season...

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has emerged as Manchester United's top summer transfer target.

According to the News of the World, Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to offer £20million-plus to land the French forward.

United were long-time admirer's of the former Lyon starlet, only to be beaten to the punch by Real Madrid in the same transfer window that saw the Red Devils lose Christiano Ronaldo.

With Benzema failing to make an impact at the Bernabeu, Ferguson is looking to add the striker to his ranks.

United chief executive David Gill confirmed funds would be available.

"I can look you in the eye and tell you straight that we have the transfer funds available to the manager," Gill said.

"Targets have been discussed already, as you'd expect, but it's not our style to talk about names and it never will be."

Eduardo 'Disappointed' By Season For Arsenal
Croatian striker still yet to hit goalscoring form two years after horror injury

Arsenal striker Eduardo admits he has not had a season to celebrate, but feels his all-round contribution has been significant as he works towards full form and fitness two years after the compound dislocation-fracture to his lower leg that could have finished his career.

The 27-year-old has scored just six times in 31 appearances for the Gunners, many of them as a substitute - not the record of a man who once looked to have become the world-class poacher Arsene Wenger needed to restore Arsenal to winning ways.

The much-touted summer move for Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh could limit the Croatian's chances still further, possibly spelling the end of his Arsenal career, but the misfiring striker is trying to find the positives in an underwhelming season.

"I am happy because I have played in some games, but also disappointed because I missed a lot of opportunities," Eduardo told Arsenal TV Online.

"But that is normal and I have been doing very well for the team.

"Maybe I have been playing like that this season - more than a goalscorer."

One factor in Eduardo's form has been his inconsistent fitness, which has prevented him from building up a run of games, with the sharpness and confidence that brings.

He added: "I have had a couple of muscle injuries this season, and been out for a few weeks.

"So maybe my body was not ready because I had been out with a long injury and needed maybe one week more to get 100 per cent fit."

As for Arsenal's last two games, which they face with little to play for after costly slip-ups ruled them out of an error-strewn title race, Eduardo believes they will not ease up despite finding themselves seven points behind Manchester United in second and five clear of fourth-placed Tottenham.

He continued: "We are professionals and must be ready for anything in life, so we must continue to play, trying to win the game and be close to the top."
