With all due respect to our colonial cousins, America is not a country its a land mass, they are citizens of the United States of America, there are or there were a few others countries within North and South America last time I looked at an atlas.

I would be rather grateful if said US citizens paid for the tea on my great ancestor's ships, including interest. your rather cruel joke of making Boston Harbour one large pot of tea sent my family into destitution. [/quote

would you accept some PG tips?

We own a lot of great TV shows too. A lot of which seem to trickle down to air over in the UK and seem to be quite popular too

I'm guessing you haven't met a lot of us.

WHAT IF:

ISAAC had said "im not going to sit in here and talk to some "IRANIAN"

people would be setting themselves on fire with outrage.
why is it ok to be a BIGOT to americans?
its a big country.
not everyone in it is a moron
just like everyone from his country isnt a terrorist.
He's not being prejudiced..... some people are just too sensitive!! But no need to worry, I'm sure Gavin (one of our fellow members) will be writing to Ofcom with a complaint!!

not sure they think they are better than everyone else..
more likely they arent really that aware of anyone else..
and i dont mean that in a bad way.

its partly the fault of the geography.
its a huge, very isolated and totally self contained country.
most people have never left.
most people have never met anyone from another country.
nearly all of the tv programming is american.

america is kind of like an only child,
if it seems self-centered its only because it is self contained.
and it cant help it.

why are other countries so concerned with american media?
is that americas fault?

i agree that some people are too sensitive..
and i dont personally think siavash hates americans...
remember how much he loved cairon?
i was just raising the issue of the seemingly double standard.
it seems america is the only country it is totally acceptable to discriminate against
openly.

ever since WWII america set itself up as the authority over the the rest of the world. even now no other country can make any sort of independent decision without america trying to give their opinion or get involved. its this behavior that gives the impression that america thinks they're better than the rest.

Sounds like you just have a problem with the government. I don't know if you noticed... so do a lot of us citizens.

Its a great pity the way people stereotype the average US citizen to what they see on TV or the tourists they meet, or better still assume they are the same as their political masters. You should remember that they are cousins of ours both historically and genetically.

Remember thats a double edged sword, just think how they must view us after seeing the likes of Brown or Mandelson.

If only people would take out the time to try and understand that all people of the world are linked to us through the universal conscience. Our brothers in spirit.

Saying that it's still good fun extracting the urine out of the *******.

it's just that this kind of attitude of the government has kinda formed an image of america that makes it seem to other people that it's acceptable for them to insult or be prejudice towards america. it's coz america is seen as being on top so it's like they're just making a few jokes at america's expense.
