Default do you think siavash is prejudiced?

tonight he said "im not going to sit in here and talk to some "aMERIcan!"

WHAT IF:

ISAAC had said "im not going to sit in here and talk to some "IRANIAN"

people would be setting themselves on fire with outrage.
why is it ok to be a BIGOT to americans?
its a big country.
not everyone in it is a moron
just like everyone from his country isnt a terrorist.

According to some on here, it is perfectly fine to hate someone just because they are american

It is EXACTLY the same as saying they hate someone because they are indian/iranian/irish whatever.

Though apprently it is acceptable

Yes it was prejudiced. I was actually puzzled by it, because it seemed so irrelevant at the time!

yeah!

i mean.. i know he was hurt......so i kind of understand him saying it..
i think what upsets me is that it is pretty much accepted by the general public to talk like that.

I just think it's more to do with him being such an arrogant jackass, which is the stereotypical view a lot of people have towards Americans, he IS bringing it on himself; but I agree, it'd be totally different if somebody else said something about Siavash's nationality... Political correctness doesn't strecth as far as the US I guess...

Being American, I was a bit offended when he said that, but it was only for a moment. What he's going through is certainly rough, and I feel bad for the guy. I don't honestly think he meant it how it came across, I think he was just upset and it came out. It happens, I'm sure I've done the same thing with French people. I don't really hate the French, but sometimes it's an easy target.

Regardless, I'm still a Siavash fan.

I'm American.

Coming to these forums makes me feel like a Black guy walking into a KKK meeting sometimes with the crazy things people say about us.

As far as what Siavash said, he could have some prejudice attitudes or he could just be picking reasons not to like Isaac. I couldn't blame him.

Well he is probably struggling to call that idiot anything nice at the moment so American was the best he could do at the time...I have quite a fe choice words that I could call Noirins Ex or not Ex or future money spinning "friend"..they will make millions together.

Americans by definition are made up of people from all over the world so being an 'american' is considered more of a mentality or way of thinking rather than a race or nationality. i guess that's why people don't think of it as racism to make those comments. also when you make such statements to MINORITIES or the OPPRESSED then it's not acceptable.

Couldn't you technically call an American in England a minority?

being american isnt actually a mentality.. it IS technically a nationality.
thats why it says "nationality: american" on my passport.

and he is the only american in the house.
that is technically a minority.

I can already tell Isaac is that conceited wannabe tough guy. He's also certainly not your typical American, so don't form any opinions based on him. I think I read he was on probation for robbery at some point.. And he's from Cleveland.. Which I don't even know how to translate that to England.. Maybe like Liverpool with a little Hull mixed in. No offense there, scousers..

i know it's a nationality but the broad view of americans is not restricted to one colour or ancestry, that's why i mentioned the whole mentality thing as americans are considered a more diverse group of people than say irish, iranian etc. that's not to say i've got anything against americans i actually think it's a good thing that so many different races actually became more tolerated and accepted over there. so in some sense the u.s. is more advanced than some countries.

With all due respect to our colonial cousins, America is not a country its a land mass, they are citizens of the United States of America, there are or there were a few others countries within North and South America last time I looked at an atlas.

I would be rather grateful if said US citizens paid for the tea on my great ancestor's ships, including interest. your rather cruel joke of making Boston Harbour one large pot of tea sent my family into destitution.

Most americans are self centred pricks though...MOST Not all

They think because most celebs come from there
They own alot of Shitty TV Shows
Bigger Cities
And are a Big Country

That there better than everyone else...
