The thing that makes it great is it's setting. You can get away with anything because it is set in the future so you get so many comedy scenarios that would be impossible in other shows. And the interpretation of the future itself too is fantastic.

I agree, although (for once) I agree with Patrick that South Park should be there somewhere, It's gotten stronger and stronger over the years.

I agree, is it still going? I heard it was saved

It isn't

If it was the same show then it wouldn't be on BBC2 at all any more, plus it had two completely different production companies. And the Top Gear wasn't relaunched until after the first series of Fifth Gear so it could've returned in its original form on BBC2.

Five stole it rather than it moving

South Park is pretty much a 90s show though, thats when it was at its peak

Okay, technically its the same show :P

Whereas Top Gear is something of a comedy-entertainment cross breed, I mean, the specials shows the show isnt really about the cars :joker:

I disagree. It's far more political now and far better written. It's more known for it's intelligent satires now than it is for, say, eight year old's cursing or a piece of **** in a christmas hat. That's not saying crude humor is still there, but overall I think it's a far better show.

I do think it's getting a bit old now however. It seems like now it's ''we are the South Park creators, and here is what we don't like this week''.

And yeah, Chewy, Futurama was officialy saved. The movies have finished up and I believe the new series will air in America next June.

Shaun 27-12-2009 05:56 PM

The Simpsons is in a league of its own - it's pretty poor now, but the old episodes are excellent. Without it the other cartoon-sitcoms wouldn't exist.

I dont really like South Park anymore, since I lost touch with it when I was a kid xD and it does seem like weekly episodes are about the flavour of the week from what I hear

and excellent!

I agree, I was watching the first season episodes, the animation wasnt top notch, but the writing was, the family were relatable, now they're just charicatures (sp?) of what they once was

Stu 27-12-2009 06:02 PM

The Simpsons had it's peak with series 3-6. It's current standing depends if you are the type of person who judges based on recent memory or prefers to remember the old glory.

Jords 27-12-2009 06:41 PM

Top Gear? Whyyy???

I like it but not number 1!

Beastie 27-12-2009 06:57 PM

There is only 20 in the countdown. This is good because I hope they talk a lot about Big Brother :D Big Brother would be number 1 in our ideal world but there are too many snobs who would not want that to be number 1.. :( I am looking forward to this countdown anyways! woo hoo!

I think after the relaunch it turned into the Richard, Jeremy and James show with cars chucked in much in the way I said a few posts back how X Factor has turned into a show about the judges with some singing chucked in.

Beastie 27-12-2009 07:31 PM

I don't mind watching Top Gear! And yeah you are right Tom.. X Factor is more about the judges..

Gosh Big Brother is amazing! A credible show, a group of nobodies entering our house for a whole summer. A lot better than seeing who has the better outfit.. "Danni or Cheryl"? What a joke..

Well it was a credible show until BB went evil in 2004

Since then its been gutter TV at its best, and its been amazing :joker: (well apart from BB8 and 10)
